True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) -
Chapter 1338
Maria shrugged and kept quiet as she could feel Ernest's loneliness.
One had to fight for their own path in life and for their love.
"Well, I'm sorry. I won't ask anything else. You can do as you like, Ernest," After saying that, Maria turned around and was about to go out.
"Wait a minute!" Ernest yelled. He was standing on the stairs and stopped Maria from leaving.
"What's the matter?" Maria turned around and looked at Ernest in surprise.
"By the way, Liam's flight to Northern City from London will be at five o'clock this evening," Ernest informed her.
Maria was stunned. Sometime later, she smiled and said, "He hasn't been my idol for four whole years."
Ernest didn't refute the stubborn Maria and said instead, "His career is in trouble."
Maria thought about it again and smiled, "It has nothing to do with me."
With a faint smile, Ernest shrugged, "Well, forget that I mentioned it then."
After he said that, he went upstairs.
Maria also turned around and walked away.
However, she kept thinking about what Ernest had said. Liam was once so popular. However, it only lasted for three years. He'd lost it since he went to study abroad.
She actually knew that Liam had not filmed anything for the past year.
It had been more than four years in total. He was no longer the Liam whose fans would welcome at the airport wherever he went.
Now, the number of his fans had declined. No one welcomed him at the airport anymore. He was like an artist who had been forgotten.
The way he was being treated was terrible.
After taking a few steps, the phone rang.
She glanced at the screen and saw that her father had called her.
"Dad," Maria picked it up and immediately changed her tone. She said cheekily, "I miss you so much."
"Then come home," Zachary said, "You've graduated. You can come back now."
"But I want to continue my studies for a few more years," Maria pleaded, "Ernest and Celeste don't want to go back either. I also want to continue to study here. Besides, I'm so young, and I don't want to work yet."
"Dad is getting old," Zachary said.
"No," Maria acted like a spoiled child, "My father is like a blooming flower. You're not old at all."
In reality, Zachary wasn't that old. He was just in his early forties. Why did he have to call himself old?
"Your grandmother misses you," Zachary continued, "Your mother has also been talking about you since a long time ago. You are a girl, so you don't have to study so much. Come back."
"That's gender inequality, isn't it?" Maria immediately protested, "What do you want me to do when I go back? Do you have a throne for me to inherit?"
Zachary smiled when he heard his daughter and laughed, "You're talking nonsense again."
"It's true," Maria said frankly, "Dad, I'm not interested in your business and I won't take over it. It belongs to my brother. As for me, I just want to do something I like."
Zachary kept quiet and allowed Maria to speak her mind.
"That's why I still want to study. I won't even be twenty four when I finish my postgraduate study in another three years. I'll return after that as I am not planning to get a doctorate degree," Maria continued, "Though, I still won't go to your company even if I go back."
"Then where are you going to go?" Zachary actually wanted his daughter to come back to his side. He was still young and had the ability to take care of his children. He hoped that when he was old, Maria would be able to be independent.
After all, Rome was not built in a day.
No matter how intelligent a person was, they would have to go through trials and tribulations before achieving something.
"Me? I haven't thought about it yet," Maria explained, "Anyways, I don't want to go to the company, so dad, please don't force me, okay?"
"Are you sure you really want to continue studying?"
"Yes, I am," Maria had already thought about it clearly. Wouldn't it be better for her to continue to study and improve herself?
"Fine, I won't force you. However, you still have to come back to the company after three years."
"I don't want to."
"The Lowe family doesn't favor boys. Don't worry, you and your younger brother can compete equally. Whoever has the ability will take over my
business."
Maria was stunned and then laughed, "Haha, dad, I am joking with you. Why are you so serious? I won't fight with my brother. Don't worry." "The only thing I'm worried about is that you're all alone abroad."
Maria didn't expect her father to say that, so she was stunned for a long time.
Later, she came to her senses and chuckled, "It has been proven that I have lived a good life for the past four years."
Zachary did not say anything else and just sighed deeply.
His sigh kept replaying in Maria's mind. She didn't realize what she had done until she got into a taxi and asked the driver to send her to the airport. She was actually heading to the airport.
That person's flight was this evening.
Maria didn't know when he would be returning to London.
She only knew that they did not say goodbye when he left after he had finished his studies a year ago.
Perhaps to him, they were not even friends.
But it was ridiculous that he had kissed her.
Thinking of that kiss, Maria gently touched her lips, and she started to feel sad.
She was helpless about the grief that no one could experience at her age.
No one.
Even if she had no longer regarded Liam as her idol, she still couldn't even if she tried to brainwash herself.
It was as if that person was deeply rooted in her heart.
No matter how hard she tried, her faith in him could not be shaken.
They hadn't seen each other for a year.
She only felt sad when she saw his haggard expression and his lonely figure on the Internet. His bright smile was no longer seen.
After feeling sad, she couldn't stop worrying about him.
In the meantime, the taxi headed straight for the airport.
She received a phone call in the taxi.
Maria was very excited to receive the call and answered, "Yes, I applied for this course. After I graduate, I hope to be an agent."
She was then asked why she chose to pursue this course.
She smiled and replied, "Because I want to help a friend, a friend that has always been in my heart."
The person asked if that was her boyfriend.
Maria shook her head and laughed, "No, he doesn't like me."
She heard an apology from the other end of the phone.
"It doesn't matter. It's just a fact," Maria smiled wryly, but she didn't care and explained, "This is what I want. I'll study in this school if I'm accepted. Otherwise, I'll study somewhere else." Because of her determination, the other party told her with a smile, "Although that would be a pity, you're indeed really excellent, so you have been accepted."
Maria froze, surprise and glee creeping into her expression.
She was accepted.
It turned out to be so simple.
Soon after they arrived at the airport, she got out of the car and stood in the airport lobby. Maria whispered to herself, "Liam, I've taken a step nearer to you. Wait for me. After three years, I'll be sure to drag you out of this mess if you're still stuck in the same spot. I vow that I will return you to the spot that you rightly deserve - at the top."
