The Twin Alphas’ Fated Mate -
Chapter 38
ALPHA KING JOSH'S POV
"She is going with us?" Adam exclaimed through the mindlink as Rose stepped closer to the car.
My Beta added, "Why is she coming to the company with us? Since when do we need her there?"
I glared at Adam, "Be nice to her, Adam. I am trying my best to win her as my woman and you promise to help me. Don't make me lose my chance.
Rose arrived beside the car, smelling like fresh roses in her corporate two-piece deep blue suit. I should thank Emily for picking out all these marvelous wears that Rose has been slaying these past few days. I mean, look at her!
Since the car windows were tinted enough to keep the werewolf's sharp gaze out, Rose wouldn't be able to see me as I drooled over her appearance. But Adam was still in the car to snap me out of it.
My Beta said tightly, "Can we go soon? You look like you have seen stars, My King. Perhaps I should remind you that she is just a female-"
"Keep your reminders to your single-ass self, Adam. I can't wait to oppress you with my soon-to-be relationship with this gorgeous woman."
I countered my Beta through the mind link as I opened the car door, exited it, and hold the door for Rose. She gave me the "You don't have to do this" look but I smiled at her pretty face as she entered the car, sitting behind Adam's seat. Eric was sitting behind the wheel as he would be the driver for the day. Adam was sitting at the front with Eric and I sat behind Eric and beside Rose who was grumbling inaudibly.
Max stated, "When will their fake enmity end?"
Obviously, he was referring to Adam and Rose. The duo kept grumbling even as Eric greeted Rose.
"Good to see you again, Eric, unlike someone in the car."
Rose retorted, smiling sheepishly at Eric who understood the tension immediately and started driving.
"I can't believe you are sitting behind someone you aren't happy to see. You should alight."
Adam chose to be a chatterbox as he responded to Rose's blatant jibes.
Rose muttered, "I will rather sit behind him to avoid seeing the face of the person that stabbed me. Plus if he isn't comfortable, I advise him to descend and trek. That will be a good way to use up his unused-" "That's enough guys, please. I almost drove us into the forest." Eric made the mistake of intervening and he regretted it when Adam and Rose both snarled at him simultaneously.
I huffed yet didn't say a word to stop the two from tearing at each other's throats. It was like watching my best friend and my woman fight for my attention. Adam and Rose needed to get used to each other. Because soon, Rose would become my woman and Adam still remained my best friend.
Eventually, Eric drove the car into the compound of a place I had spent a couple of years building.
"Wow. this place is huge." Rose let out a gasp as Eric drove us further past the gate to the special parking spot that was always reserved for me.
Surprisingly Eric chimed, "The last time you were here with Alpha Richard, you couldn't pass the gate because the Alpha King wasn't around to attend to you. Get ready to be wowed by the construction and professionalism-" "You talk too much, Eric. Keep your mouth shut."
I shut Eric up, gritting at him just because he mentioned that bast*rd's name.
"Forgive me, My King." Eric apologized timidly while Adam snorted as he got out of the car.
Rose stared at me like I had grown two heads all of a sudden. "Did you have to shout at him like that?" Rose asked me after Eric joined Adam outside the car.
I ignored her and opened the car door before stretching my hand to help her out like a gentleman even though I had a reputation to protect in this environment. However, Rose didn't take my hand. She ignored my outstretched hand just like I did with her question and opened the door beside her, letting herself out of the car.
Eric voiced before I could address Rose's attitude, "The surprise inspection might be ruined if we don't get going now. By now, I am certain most of the employees have perceived your presence."
"Lead the way, Eric."
I etched.
Eric nodded and started leading me, Adam and Rose who stood feet behind me. She was too far but since she wanted to be that way, I let her and decided to ignore her throughout the inspection period.
"Let's begin with the human relations unit, Eric. I will like to see what they have come up with since the last time I had a meeting with them."
I informed Eric and he acknowledged my words as he led us into an elevator. Again, Rose stood away from me. She even stood side by side with Adam just to avoid me. What exactly did I do wrong? All I did was shut Eric up when he mentioned the name of the man behind Rose's nightmares but rather than appreciate me, she is avoiding me.
It was understandable that she was wowed by the sight of the corporation. I mean there are about thirty-five sections in the huge compound. Although each section owned a different building, the buildings are all linked making movement easy for the workers. I had spent a lot of my inheritance and hard-earned money on this place. My father must be proud of me now that he was finally with his mate and I was doing well by his name.
"My King, Welcome."
"Welcome, Alpha King."
"It's the Alpha King.. ahhh.."
Some of the employees in the section I wanted to begin with panicked while others greeted me boldly. They chorused their greetings after pulling themselves together and bowed to me, expressing their respect.
"I will be in the conference room waiting for you all to prepare a presentation of your latest breakthrough to the humans. I will like to know if our strategic relations are going fine or if there would be a clash."
I announced without responding to their greetings. In the business world, I was someone that has killed to get what I wanted. I wasn't a sweet mushy business tycoon. I was the type that was deadly and hardly laugh with people that work with me or do business with me.
The moment I called for a meeting, Rose's gaze shifted to me. I smirked to myself as I strolled towards the conference room in the section. I did that intentionally. I had told her that there wouldn't be a meeting but what wa an inspection without a proper presentation and observation?
Within three minutes, we all settled in the conference room and the presentation kick-started instantly. The Human relation section was created to build a strong relationship between the Humans and the werewolves. Although humans are yet to discover the territory that has been divided between my brothers and me, they have discovered some other territories and clashes happened between our worlds.
I didn't want that for my territory or even for my brothers even though they didn't give a f*ck about me.
"We found a prominent industry headed by humans in the neighboring community but they haven't gotten back to us even though we have sent them emails and-"
"Do you think I am risking our hidden location for you to send emails to the humans? Do you know what will happen if this plan to involve humans in the development of the newly found mineral field goes wrong?
I blurted furiously.
They didn't seem to understand the risks I was taking. I needed to make a partnership with humans to extend the sales of my industry's productions. I mean, even though humans don't know about us, we have found ways to get the best cars and amenities from their world into our territories.
It was high time they do business with us even if we all have to act like them.
"Or do you want our sales to be limited and restricted to ourselves? How are we going to grow and dominate the world if we are focusing only on ourselves?"
I barked.
Perhaps it was time to come up with a solid plan myself before my brothers find out that I was relating with humans- dangerous and unpredictable creatures.
"We ask you to give us more time, Alpha King Josh. We will figure out-"
The head of the section tried to save them all but I countered, "This team is dismissed, Eric. Get a new team immediately."
Eric connected to my mind as the members of the team cried for their job, "This is the seventh team I assembled for this section, My King. we can't keep dismissing them all."
I snarled at Eric, letting him understand that I wasn't ready to listen to anyone-
"I think I know what the problem with the plan is. Can I help, Alpha King Josh?"
Rose uttered.
Permit me to rephrase my last statement. I wasn't ready to listen to anyone... anyone but Rose.
"Please do, Rose."
I permitted without second thoughts.
