ROSE'S

POV

Two days after I made peace with Alpha King Josh, who I had been calling Josh, I was beginning to regret my decision to open up to him... Partially.

He was overwhelming me with attention, care, and most importantly, gifts.

Cali chimed heartily, "You can't be complaining about that, Rose. He is a man that wants you and you should be grateful he is doing his best to win you over instead of using dirty pranks like some Alphas would have." Well, I wasn't exactly complaining.

Or maybe I was complaining. I mean, he wouldn't let me sleep early neither would he let me sleep in late.

I slept like five hours ago and he was already knocking on my door to get me out of bed.

I cried, "What do you want now? Let me sleep, please."

He was making me regret making a promise to him. Staying with Alpha King Josh is awesome but also tiring. I snuggled into the lushness of the bed trying to ignore the adamant Alpha King.

"I believe you should be well rested by now, Rose. Plus I can't let you sleep for another minute. We have a place to be."

Alpha King Josh let out, causing me to groan.

"Where are you taking me, Josh? If this is about training with the Warriors, I am not interested today. Try again tomorrow."

I chimed and assumed he would get the hint and leave me alone.

But he blurted, "Open this door or I will kick it down. We both know you don't want me to kick this door down, Rose." "Why not? It's your house. Feel free to destroy the door." I retorted.

"Are you for real? Are you sure you won't scream when I kick the door open and get a view of your naked butt?"

Josh voiced with a suggestive voice that made my eyelids flutter open.

I exclaimed with wide eyes, "What made you assume that I am naked, Pervert!"

But the truth was, I was stake naked. After staying up till midnight with Alpha King Josh, I retired to my room and had a bath before retiring to bed. I completely forgot to wear something- anything at all. "Should I still kick the door open?"

Alpha King Josh let out, mocking me. I squeezed my eyes and got out of bed against my will. I quickly got decent and unlocked the door for the annoying man that I have promised to stay with.

What was with me and making promises that I couldn't keep up with?

For Alpha Richard, it was a blood oath... with Alpha King Josh, it was a promise made during a heated and emotional moment.

Even though I wished I could take it back, I knew I would have done the same thing again if we were to be in the garden all alone again. There was something about the atmosphere of the garden... somehow, it influenced my emotions, words, and decision. "Good Morning to you too, Rose. You are stunning by the way-" He tried to patronize me the minute I opened the door.

But I countered, "Don't bother. What do you want?"

"You don't have to be mean to me. I thought we have been bonding these past few days."

Alpha King Josh stated with amusement. Truly, we have been bonding quite well and I found myself becoming relaxed with him around. Although he had made me know that he want more from me, he hasn't been forcing me either.

"If we have, you will have known that I hate waking up to your face."

I hissed but Alpha King Josh laughed like I cracked a joke. He was such a morning person and I once was too. I mean back at Alpha Richard's home, I hardly get to sleep when I wanted to and I would have been up some hours ago to satisfy Irene and her family. Those blood-sucking fools.

"Here I was thinking my face has become your favorite thing to stare at, Rose. I am hurt."

Alpha King Josh muttered, faking a broken heart. I rolled my eyes and asked him what he wanted from me.

Alpha King Josh informed, "I was thinking of paying a visit to my business place in about an hour. I thought you might want to come with me since I have seen how passionate you can be about business."

He made reference to the proposal I drafted for Apha Richard within a short period of time.

"Going to your office is equivalent to showing myself around, Alpha King Josh. I think that's too dangerous and also bad for business."

I replied. I wasn't ready to show myself to the world. Alpha Richard might get a whiff of my plan to backstab him if he saw me walking around publicly with the Alpha King. I didn't want him to know a thing until I am ready.

"I don't care about that, Rose but if it bothers you so much, will it help to know that we will be going for a quick inspection? It's not a meeting so everyone there would be my employees and they won't dare make you uncomfortable."

Josh etched, explaining to me that no one would snitch in his company.

Who will tell him that there was a snitch in his pack? The letter I got the other day didn't deliver itself and Alpha Richard wouldn't have brought the letter himself... none would Alpha Richard have removed his physical ears and eyes and fixed them in the Royal Pack to watch my move.

Someone or more was Alpha Richard's eyes and ears in the pack.

I wonder why I haven't gotten a follow-up letter from Alpha Richard yet. Could it be that he was dead?

Cali chipped in, "That would be good news...."

Alpha King Josh chimed after my wolf beast's statement, "Do you want to go or not?

"I want to go but I shouldn't go, Josh. Since it's an inspection, I won't be of much help to you."

I concluded but he scoffed, "If you want to go then you will go with me. Get ready and meet me in the garage in forty-five minutes."

"But, My King-"

"Call me that one more time and watch me pin you to the wall to punish you as I please."

Josh suddenly seethed at me.

Strangely, I didn't feel terrified of his threat to have me punished. I was eager to watch him punish me, in fact, but before I could annoy him more, he walked away saying, "See you in forty-five minutes, Rose. Don't be late. We have to get to work."

I huffed disappointedly. One minute he was a caveman Alpha King who make me want him in the most unspeakable way and the next minute, he was a sophisticated business Tycoon who wouldn't waste his time tempting me.

"I can't choose between both personalities though. He makes me want to commit sins regardless of what personality he chose."

Cali muttered like a starved sex addict and at that moment, I couldn't deny that I also wanted to commit good sweaty sins with the Alpha King that made me a woman.

But for the next few hours, he wouldn't be interested in that. He would be more focused on making me a business partner than his woman.

While I couldn't get my mind off the thoughts of watching him pin me to the wall...

Undoubtedly, something was wrong with me but strange enough, I didn't want to get a cure.
