ROSE'S

POV

I shouldn't have blurted those words out.

But I also couldn't sit idle and watch these people lose their jobs.

"Are you sure you want to get involved in this though? Human relations aren't a piece of cake and you know better than anyone that Alpha Richard wants to hijack this project."

Cali stated facts but I countered, "I am anti-Alpha Richard henceforth, Girl."

"If you have anything meaningful to contribute, I suggest you let it out now. We still have a lot of sections to visit."

Beta Adam chipped like an annoying bird.

I stared at Beta Adam, "Your suggestions would have been welcomed if it was about how to resolve the current problem. But you wouldn't know anything about that." I retorted inaudibly but loud enough for Adam and anyone interested to hear. "Anyways. I just have a few pointers." I faced the already shivering employees.

Some of them looked down on me. They didn't have to say a word to express that. I could tell from the manner they looked at me. Others just didn't care about what I had to say after all, who was I to pitch a plan that would change the Alpha King's mind and save their jobs?

I didn't blame them. I wasn't confident I could help them either but I was willing to try.

"From the look of things, I assume that you have tried to contact not one and not even two companies that belong to the humans."

I uttered and captured the attention of all the workers on the team. Tsk! I thought they weren't interested in me or my words...

"Some companies didn't respond to you while those that were responsible enough to respond, rejected your pitch. Am I correct?"

I queried, raising one of my eyebrows skillfully.

Alpha King Josh growled, "You were rejected? When were you going to tell me? I don't remember approving any pitch, in fact. Did you guys make a move aside from the emails?"

The guy who has been taking the head of the team ever since we arrived, stuttered, "We wanted to present a complete project to you, My King. I omitted the other plans because-" "Because you went behind my back and still failed!"

Alpha King Josh yelled, banging his hand on the glass plateau, causing me and others to jump but miraculously avoiding breaking the table.

"Forgive me, My Ki-King-"

Josh fired, "No!" Silence took over the room, "You will not be forgiven after you deceive me."

I thought I should talk more and save the young man from Alpha King Josh's fury but I didn't want to appear disrespectful as the team leader fell to his knees, begging to be speared. "Adam, teach this nuisance not to go behind my back ever again. That's if he survives the night-"

From Alpha King Josh's outburst, I could tell that the team leader was in deep sh*t. He could even lose his life today if I didn't speak up. And his blood would be on my hands. "Perhaps he can still sort this out and work things out too."

I blurted quickly as Beta Adam rose from his seat to follow the Alpha King's orders. Eric and Adam made faces at me the moment I stepped in for the team leader and I didn't understand the facial signals until Alpha King Josh's voice broke out again. "Allow her to speak, Adam. it's not like I will kill her for speaking up for a living creature."

Alpha King Josh stated. My jaw almost hit the table when I realized that I was walking on thin ice and I could sink anytime.

Cali etched, "That man would never do anything to hurt you, Rose. go ahead and prove your point with your head held high."

I swallowed carefully as I began, "When dealing with humans, I suggest you stand out."

Of course, I still had a lot of points to explain to the team leader and his team members but one of his female members spoke too soon, "We can't stand out. The Alpha King specifically told us not to give away any information that would lead the humans to our safe territory. We can't-"

Alpha King Josh barked, "Are you blaming me for your failures? Do you also want to join him while he gets punished?"

I shook my head and voiced before anyone else. "Please let me speak before you interrupt next time. I don't have to be right but if I am right, you all can have the chance to save your jobs and get the work done." When everyone swallowed the invisible chill pill, I continued, "It is true that you can't stand out too much, guys but still you have to stand out regardless of our werewolf lineage. In business, uniqueness is important." "Amidst themselves, the humans must have beautiful ideas, and the companies you applied to must have rejected many offers from other companies even though they are administered by their fellow humans." I added, making eye contact with a few of the team members.

Eric interfered, "What's your point exactly, Rose?"

"My point is, we have to meet the humans halfway. Since we are somehow different from them, it's an advantage for us. The proposal should be drafted in a way that gives information of our uniqueness and specialty but also has details that are familiar to the humans."

I answered.

The team leader voiced, "Are you saying we shouldn't totally be ourselves? Likewise, we shouldn't put too much effort into trying to be completely human while trying to get the companies to notice our proposal.

"Exactly." I confirmed, smiling because someone finally understood my point.

"Give them a taste of our world and make them wonder about the source of such marvelous ideas. Don't give too many details, remember that. Also, don't try to be like them. Be unique and see how they will rush to partner with you."

I added confidently.

"That's an awesome idea, miss." The Team leader etched. "Don't act like humans.... Be yourselves but still meet them halfway. I can't believe I never thought of that."

I smiled "I hope that helps in your next report-"

"And who said I was giving him another chance to work on the project?"

Alpha King Josh's thick and nearly unfamiliar voice broke out again, commanding everyone's attention.

"Forgive me for making assumptions, My King. I hope you will give him and his team another chance to save themselves and their jobs."

I answered even though his current gaze was scaring the h*ll out of me. This Josh was different from the man that convinced me to call him by his name. This Josh seemed like he had very rough edges that were ready to cut through anyone at any f*cking time. This version of Alpha King Josh was a focused businessman that was on a mission- I just didn't know his mission was to get me trapped in his business until he opened his mouth again.

He should have kept that mouth of his shut... honestly.

“I can make that happen if you accept to work on the project with him and his team."

Alpha King Josh declared despite knowing that I didn't want to be involved since I was still hiding- Cali cut in, "You can't hide forever, Rose. This is a great way to begin your anti Alpha Richard operation." "What if I don't want to work with the team but I am still willing to share my suggestions with them?"

I questioned, hoping that Alpha King Josh would let me off but he shook his head, disagreeing with me.

"I can either fire them all and punish the leader or you work with them and earn my forgiveness on the spot."

Alpha King Josh announced the options and a frown formed on my face. Did he have this planned all along? He has been annoying me ever since we arrived here and he doesn't seem like he was done.

Josh faced the team members and muttered, "Convince her to join your team and you will all have your jobs back. I will also forgive your past mistakes."

With that said the group members that were over twenty began to plead with me. I held Alpha King Josh's gaze while I was getting pleas to join the Human Relation section of the corporation.

The team leader walked up to me and said, "Hello, Miss. I am Shawn, the head of the Human Relations section."

Shawn's eyes brimmed with tears as his fear became visible to me. He bowed his head and begged, "Please save us and work with us."

My heart went out to him but my emotions had always been the reasons I took some crazy decisions that didn't work in my favor. Like how I agreed to leave my birth pack and become Alpha Richard's mate. I didn't want to be controlled by my emotions. Not anymore.

I opened my mouth to tell Shawn that I wouldn't be able to help them but Shawn voiced, "My little girl is waiting for her father to come home to her.... Please help her see her father again." Argh!

F*ck this! All of it!
