Suzy raised her head in astonishment. "Didn't you head out to see Mr. Townsend?"

George raised her chin with his hand and smiled lightly. "I was just kidding. He spilled some wine and accidentally splashed it on me."

He originally wanted to take a bath after coming back, but when he did not see Suzy around, he

quickly forgot about bathing.

Suzy let out an 'oh' and lay down against his chest again. "Did he need you urgently?" "It was nothing!" Then, the two chatted casually. They would not feel awkward even if they were not talking. The sun gradually became hotter, and George pulled half of the gauze curtain over. The sunlight suddenly became softer and warmer.

Suzy felt that this was the best day in the sun this whole summer.

In the afternoon, Hilde found out that Bennett had gotten injured and specially brought his wife to visit

him.

Bennett had a white gauze around his head. His face was a little pale, and he smiled softly while saying, "I'm alright. I slipped when I was going downstairs and made a joke out of myself in front of everyone."

Mrs. Merck said with concern, "Have you seen a doctor? Do you need to go to the hospital for some tests?"

Bennett replied, "The doctor has already come by and said that I'm fine. I'll just need to rest for a few days."

Hilde warmly said, "Then you should have a good rest, Mr. Townsend. There's no rush in the collaboration."

"My apologies!" Bennett smiled apologetically.

Mrs. Merck held Winona's hand and said, "Do take

good care of Mr. Townsend."

Winona chuckled, "I will."

After the Merck couple left, Bennett's face immediately sank. Due to the excessive blood loss, the complexion of his face was particularly ghastly. Winona sat on the edge of the bed and asked softly," Do you want some water?"

Bennett said with a sullen face, "I won't be going out these two days. You should go to Mrs. Merck's place and help me keep an eye on George." Winona asked cautiously, "Did George cause your injury?"

Bennett glanced at her coldly. "Don't ask what you shouldn't be asking!"

Winona's face turned pale, and she lowered her head. "Yes, I understand. I'll keep an eye on them."

Bennett's expression was gloomy, and he said in a low voice, "F*cking George Laine brought a woman who came from no background and doesn't understand a thing here but is constantly coaxing and petting her like a baby. I truly have no idea what

on earth he's thinking!"

Winona gave it a thought. Knowing that Bennett was not talking to her, she chose not to answer. Bennett closed his eyes, and his expression became more and more gloomy. "George must be bewitched by that woman that he's barely focused on the collaboration. He's not a good partner at all, so he must be eliminated. I can't let him drag me down!"

Bennett went to lay in bed to recuperate, and Winona thought it would be a good idea if she went to look for Mrs. Merck for a chat over tea. Hence, she personally learned to make some Cloud City pastries from the chef and took them to see Mrs. Merck.

In the sun room, Mrs. Merck was looking at some photos. She had placed a brown leather photo album on her knees and was slowly flipping it over. When she saw Winona coming in, she greeted her with concern. "Is Mr. Townsend feeling better?"

Winona nodded. "He's much better now. He wanted to eat some Cloud City's pastries and wanted me to make them myself. I've been learning all morning and made a lot of them, so I brought some over to you to have a taste. You can tell me if they taste authentic."

Mrs. Merck looked at the dessert she made and nodded. "They look great."

Winona's eyes fell on the album, and she smiled. " Are they photos of you when you were younger, Mrs. Merck?"

Mrs. Merck said with a smile, "They're photos of me when I was a kid. I specially brought it over when I

came back this time." "Can I take a look?" Winona asked gently.
