Raven’s POV

It is as if everyone is moving in slow motion as they turn to look at me. My fathers and my mates have looks of relief in their eyes while Elise is staring daggers at me.

“You made this whole thing up to get me here, and yet you found out nothing,” Elise’s voice is high-pitched and angry.

Leo stands up to defend me, but I place my hand on his arm. “It doesn’t matter what she thinks,” I tell him. “She has already admitted to trying to kill me. It is a crime punishable by death.”

Elise begins sobbing. “You don’t understand,” she cries out. “They have my mother.”

“That’s funny,” I say as I turn my head slightly to the side. “You didn’t have a problem joining the side of the woman with scars when she came to visit you the night of my birthday.”

“How did you know about that?” Elise screeches.

“Have you forgotten that I am the Luna Queen?” I chuckle. “I can read minds.”

“You went into my mind?” Elise asks, looking genuinely hurt. “You looked into my private thoughts.”

The look on Elise’s face makes me feel guilty. It is precisely the reason why I don’t like flipping through people’s minds. “I didn’t have a choice,” I whisper, trying not to let my guilt get the better of me.

Leo growls at Elise, and she attempts to back away with a scared look on her face, but Oliver keeps a tight grip on her cuffs. I look into his eyes, and he looks like he is in pain. Then I realize that he has been holding onto the silver cuffs for the better part of thirty minutes without letting them go. The silver has to be burning into his hands.

“For f***s sake,” I growl. “Will someone please have a guard take this b***h to the dungeons so my mate can stop suffering?”

As if on cue, two armed guards make their way into my hospital room and drag Elise out while she kicks and screams for forgiveness.

Once she is gone, I hold my hands out for Oliver to approach me in the bed. Hesitantly he settles on the other side of my bed, away from Leo.

“I don’t think we have been properly introduced,” I say kindly. “I am your mate, Raven.”

“I am Alpha Oliver of the Historical Pack,” he says shyly. “But you can call me Oliver.”

I look around the room. My fathers have ridiculous grins on their faces, but Leo is wearing a scowl. I know I won’t be able to say anything to Oliver without the other four men in the room making some sort of a ruckus.

“Could you four please leave me alone with my new mate for a few minutes?” I ask politely.

My fathers quickly exit the room, but Leo refuses to move from his seat.

“Alpha Leo,” my Dad calls from the doorway. “I don’t think he will mark and mate her while she is in a hospital bed. You can leave them alone for a few moments.”

Leo gets to his feet as he mumbles something about overbearing fathers. Before he turns to leave the room, he leans in and plants a k**s on my lips. He runs his tongue along my bottom l*p, eliciting a soft m**n from me. Leo plunges his tongue into my mouth as soon as my lips part and deepens the k**s.

He tangles his hands in my hair and tilts my head upwards to give himself better access to my lips. The feeling between us is electric, and I cannot help but m**n again. Finally, Leo comes up for air and releases my lips. We are both panting heavily.

Visions of just a few hours ago flash through my mind, and my face blushes. Just a few hours ago, I was prepared to be marked and mated by him. But now things are more complicated.

I turn my head to look at Oliver, and his eyes are glued to the ground. I can tell he is suppressing his anger at seeing me k**s Leo.

“Just remember who will have you first,” Leo whispers loud enough for Oliver to hear. He then k****s me on the forehead and leaves the room.

I look up at Oliver and see that he is now looking at me with an unreadable look. “Well, that was awkward,” I say, trying to ease the tension in the room.

“You seemed to be enjoying yourself,” Oliver says with venom.

“Please,” I beg. “I don’t want our first conversation to be a fight about Leo.”

I hold out my hand, and even before Oliver takes it, I can feel the sparks between us. “Wow,” I whisper, having never felt anything like this before.

“Does it not feel this way with Leo?” Oliver smirks.

I think about how to approach the situation delicately. “Leo and I got off to a rocky start,” I say, not trying to give too much away.

“That isn’t surprising,” Oliver grumbles.

“I take it that you two don’t like each other very much,” I giggle.

“I don’t think dislike is a strong enough word,” Oliver purses his lips. “It is more like we loathe one another.”

“Well,” I sigh. “This should make things interesting.”

“Why is that?” Oliver asks.

“Because I don’t plan on rejecting either of you,” I tell him the truth. “The Moon Goddess paired me with both of you, and I believe she did so for a reason.”

“Unfortunately,” Oliver sighs. “I agree. Perhaps we can work out some sort of deal.”

I furrow my eyebrows in confusion. “What kind of deal?”

“As in, I get you Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays…” he begins, but I hold up my hand to stop him from speaking.

“No,” I interrupt him. “This isn’t some child custody agreement. We are all in this relationship together, and you two must learn to get along.”

“I won’t be the problem,” Oliver says arrogantly. “It is Alpha Leo that you have to worry about.”

I pull my hand away from Oliver and rub my temples painfully. “We will have to see about that,” I say, unsure which one of my mates is going to give me the most trouble.
