The Alpha Triplets And The Rogue -
Chapter 204
Leo’s POV
“How are we going to lure Elise here?” Alpha Oliver asks, and everyone’s eyes land on me.
“Oh no,” I grumble. “Absolutely not.”
I look at Raven, thinking she would be on my side, but her eyes tell me otherwise.
“Raven, you can’t seriously want me to go to Elise,” I say to her as if no one else is in the room.
Her eyebrows furrow together before opening the mind link between the two of us. ‘Elise is under the impression that you love her,’ she tells me. ‘She will listen to you.’
‘In love with her,’ I scoff through the mind link. ‘I am not in love with her. I am in love with you.’
Raven averts her eyes, and a deep red blush crosses over her cheeks. ‘I love you too,’ she whispers through the link.
I know I have a smug look on my face as I turn and look at Oliver. If only she could have said those words out loud for everyone to hear. Then everyone would know that she belongs to me.
Pressing my lips to hers, I give her a quick k**s, which results in a room full of growls. I spin around to find the Alpha triplets standing behind me, arms crossed over their chests, glaring at me. Oliver is standing off to the side; his eyes averted to the floor. I ignore the angry men in the room and stand to leave.
“I won’t come back without Elise,” I say aloud, and Raven gives me a grateful smile.
I leave the hospital with a spring in my step. She loves me, but I don’t have time to focus on that now. I need to convince Elise to come to the hospital with me.
As I pull up to the pack house, I see Raven’s Aunt Ashley standing in the doorway, blocking someone from leaving.
“If you aren’t guilty, then why are you trying to run?” Ashley screams at the person inside the door, and I don’t have to guess to know that it is Elise.
“I am not guilty,” Elise’s voice shakes with fear. I am pretty sure Ashley is the daughter of an Alpha. It would not be a fair fight between the two of them.
“Then what is your hurry?” Ashley says with a smirk on her face.
I walk up to the confrontation, and sure enough, Elise is trying to get out of the pack house with her bag full of clothes.
“What is going on here?” I ask, pretending like I don’t know what is going on.
“This b***h is trying to leave after she pushed Raven down the stairs,” Ashley growls impressively.
“I didn’t push her,” Elise’s voice is high-pitched and nervous. “She tripped. I swear it.”
Laying my hand on Ashley’s shoulder, I try to diffuse the situation. “I can handle this from here.”
“I am sure you can, you cheating son of a b***h,” Ashley snarls at me.
“Ashley,” I say, trying to control my anger. “I have just come from the hospital. Won’t you and Elise come back with me? Raven is out of it and doesn’t seem to know what is happening.” It is a lie, and I hope it will be enough to get Elise to accompany me.
“Is she able to speak?” Ashley asks me curiously.
“No,” I lie again. “She is unable to move or speak.”
Elise seems to relax at my words. If she thinks that she is safe for now, perhaps she won’t run.
“I would like to visit her to make sure she is okay,” Elise chirps.
Ashley and I both turn and look at Elise with a shocked look. I never thought getting her to visit the hospital would be easy. Whatever her job is with the recusants must not be complete.
The drive to the hospital isn’t silent, even though none of us are speaking to one another. Elise is in the back seat humming happily to herself. Ashley is sitting in the car’s front seat with her arms crossed over her chest, letting out little huffs of anger. The closer we get to the hospital, the more irritated she seems to be. I am trying to concentrate on the road and ignore the ticking time bomb that is ready to explode in my car at any moment.
Once we pull into the hospital parking lot, Elise hops out of the car, still cheerfully humming to herself.
“What the f**k are you so happy about?” Ashley snaps at her.
“I am just happy that the Luna Queen is alive and well,” Elise says with a smile, but it doesn’t reach her eyes. She is lying.
“Elise, you go ahead and head inside,” I tell her. “I want to have a moment alone with Ashley.”
Flipping her brown hair over her shoulder, Elise makes her way into the hospital without looking back in our direction.
“Do you want to explain what the f**k is going on?” Ashley turns her anger onto me.
“Raven can communicate but only through mind link,” I whisper into Ashley’s ear. “She specifically asked for Elise to come here because she wants to flip through her mind.”
Ashley lets out a relieved sigh. “I thought I was going to have to kick your a*s she chuckles.”
“It would probably be a good show if you would slap me across the face,” I tell her. “Just in case Elise is watching. We need her to think I am on her side for now.”
“No problem,” Ashley smirks. Before I have time to brace myself for the smack, Ashley rears back her hand and hits me across the face.
I rub my cheek gingerly. “You could have held back?” I g***n as the side of my face continues to sting.
“Nope,” Ashley says as she places her hands on her h**s.
Elise comes running back into the parking lot with a concerned look as if on cue. “My poor sweet, Leo,” she says as she takes my face into her hands.
Pulling her hands down, I fake a smile in Elise’s direction. “I was just putting Ashley in her place,” I lie yet again. “I will be okay. Let’s go see Raven.”
Elise links her arm in mine, and I shudder in disgust, but I don’t dare to remove it. Slowly, I lead the two ladies back through the hospital to Raven’s room.
