Raven’s POV

Laying in the hospital bed, I watch as the doctor pokes and prods at different areas of my body, trying to gauge how much feeling I have left in my extremities.

“Close your eyes. Okay, Luna Queen,” the doctor says to me. “Can you feel this?”

I keep my eyes closed like I was asked, and I cannot feel where the doctor is touching me. I open my mouth to speak before I remember that I cannot, so I shake my head no.

“You can open your eyes now, Luna Queen,” the doctor says kindly.

Opening my eyes, I look around me, and I frown. It is still only my fathers in the room. There is no sign of either of my mates. Irritation at their delay rushes through my body, and I can feel my b***d beginning to boil.

“Luna Queen,” the doctor pulls me from my inner thoughts. “Are you able to mind link anyone?”

“As the Luna Queen, you should be able to mind link anyone from any pack,” my father tells me as he holds my hand.

Closing my eyes, I reach out to my father. ‘Where the f**k are my mates?’ I ask him through the mind link. ‘They should be here by my side.’

My father chuckles loudly but does not betray me and speak my unspoken words. “She is able to mind link,” he tells the doctor with a smirk.

“Good,” the doctor says with a smile on his face. “Now try to mind link me.”

I look at the doctor and c**k my head slightly to the side. I have yet to try to mind link someone outside of the North Pack before. I am not sure I know how to get into someone else’s mind.

‘Hello?’ I call out through the link, praying it meets the right person.

‘Hello,’ the doctor says back sweetly through the mind link.

I let out a sigh of relief, knowing that I will be able to communicate in some way.

“It is good to know that she can mind-link,” the doctor continues aloud. “It gives me hope that she will be able to speak again as soon as her wolf can heal her.”

‘Will I be able to walk again?’ I ask the doctor through the mind link.

The doctor looks around the room before his voice echoes in my mind. ‘I don’t know the answer to that. The damage to your spine from your fall is extensive. We can only hope that your wolf is strong enough to repair the damage.’

My anger bubbles to the surface. ‘I didn’t fall,’ I shout through the link. ‘I was pushed by my aide Elise.’

The doctor gasps loudly and turns his attention back to my fathers. “Did you know that she was pushed?”

A grumbling of growls fills the room as my fathers look at one another. “Who pushed you?” Papa demands to know.

“Isn’t it obvious? Dad says. “It had to have been that aide that has been following her around like a lost puppy.”

I nod my head up and down quickly. Opening my mind to everyone in the room. ‘Elise pushed me down the stairs when I refused to go with her. She claimed that the true Luna Queen has Kieran.’

“Kieran?” Father furrows his eyebrows together in confusion. “What would they want with Kieran?”

“I think I have an answer for that,” a voice comes from the door.

Looking up, I see Oliver and Leo standing shoulder-to-shoulder in the doorway. I can’t help but smile brightly at the sight of the two of them. Even though I am smiling, both men are wearing deep scowls on their faces.

‘Please come in,’ I say to both of them through the mind link.

My mates push each other back and forth until Leo finally fights through the door first. My father leaves my side, making room for Leo. Giving Oliver a smug look, Leo takes my hand and sits beside me. I watch as his thumb traces little circles on the top of my hand. Usually, a burst of electricity would travel throughout my body at his touch, but I feel nothing right now.

Leo must not be able to feel the sparks either because he looks down at my hand with a frown on his face.

‘What is happening?’ He asks me through the mind link with fear in his eyes.

‘I think it is because I don’t have any feeling from the neck down,’ I respond to Leo. ‘I am also unable to speak.’

Leo’s frown deepens as he looks back at Oliver. “I think you should tell them what you know.”

The doctor quickly excuses himself, and Oliver steps into the hospital room and shuts the door. He begins to speak slowly and carefully as if he has practiced this speech repeatedly in his mind. I listen to how he believes the recusants are hunting down Kieran and myself. Only he doesn’t think they are harming Kieran, just trying to convince him that he is the rightful ruler of the packs.

“Kieran wouldn’t fall for such a thing,” my father shakes his head in disbelief. “He loves his sister.”

“That doesn’t mean that the recusants won’t try to convince him otherwise,” Leo growls angrily.

‘We need to speak to Elise,’ I open my link with everyone in the room. ‘She claimed to know where they were keeping Kieran.’

Leo looks even more confused than before. “What does Elise have to do with this?”

‘She pushed me down the stairs,’ I whisper to Leo alone.

Leo growls fiercely, and I cannot help but huddle in fear. “I will f*****g kill her.”

“Wait,” Dad yells as Leo attempts to storm from the room. “We need to find out what she knows before you kill her.”

‘No one is killing anyone,’ I scream through the mind link.

The five men in the room look at me with a shocked expressions.

“You aren’t thinking straight,” Father says. “She attempted to kill you. That is punishable by death.”

‘She knows too much for us just to kill her,’ I mind link everyone desperately. ‘I want to flip through her mind.’

“Is that something that you can even do without touching her?” My papa asks.

‘It is worth a try,’ I tell them. ‘But this won’t work if she knows I can communicate with you all. You have to keep this a secret until I have a chase to pull the information I need from her mind.’

“What about Alpha Harry,” Father asks. “He clearly knows something as well.”

‘I will deal with him later,’ I say through the link. ‘But I need to find Kieran f
