The Alpha Triplets And The Rogue -
Chapter 202
Leo’s POV
Bile rises in the back of my throat as I watch Raven be loaded into the back of an ambulance. If I hadn’t been fighting with Alpha Oliver, it is possible that none of this would have ever happened. I glance over at Alpha Oliver, and by the guilty look on his face, I can tell that he feels the same way I do.
“We are heading to the hospital,” Alpha Chris grumbles in my direction. “You two should head that way as well.”
I glance at Alpha Oliver and roll my eyes before turning my direction back to Alpha Chris. “Can I ride with you three?” I beg.
“No!” All three of the Alpha Triplets yell at once.
“You two need to learn how to work through your problems. You have to spend some time together,” Alpha Ace explains.
“I don’t think that is necessary,” Alpha Oliver chimes in.
“If you two are going to share a mate, it is,” Alpha Bryce growls.
“I don’t plan on sharing my mate,” I growl back. “I found her first. She belongs to me.”
Alpha Oliver snarls beside me. His hands are in tight fists by his sides. “The Moon Goddess intended for us to share her.”
Share. Just the word makes me feel angry. I want nothing more than to rip his head off whenever he speaks.
“Firstly,” Alpha Ace growls at both of us. “Our daughter is not some toy to be fought over. You will treat her with more respect than you have already shown. Got it?”
Oliver shuffles his feet where he stands like a child that is being chastised. On the other hand, I decide to keep my head high.
“I respect, Raven,” I say in exasperation. “But I do not respect him.” I use my thumb to point in Alpha Oliver’s direction.
“Secondly,” Alpha Ace ignores my outburst. “You should learn to respect each other.”
“We will not tolerate any more of this nonsense,” Alpha Chris joins his brother in lecturing us. “Especially in the hospital.”
“Then perhaps we shouldn’t go,” I grumble.
“She will need you by her side,” Bryce says softly. “She will need you both.”
“I promise not to cause any more issues,” Alpha Oliver hangs his head in shame.
I can’t help but smirk to myself. This i***t is going to be easy to get rid of. All I have to do is make him realize that his presence will do nothing but stress out Raven, and he will leave.
The Alpha triplets enter their car and drive toward the hospital without saying another word. Leaving Alpha Oliver and me awkwardly standing in the driveway of the pack house.
“So, should be head to the hospital?” Alpha Oliver fills the silence between us.
“It is what the Alpha triplets want,” I mumble. “I will drive.”
Leading Alpha Oliver to the car I have been using since I have been at the West Pack. We both get into the car without saying a word to each other, and more awkward silence fills the car on the way to the hospital.
Finally, I cannot handle the silence between us any longer. “Why did you come to the Luna Queen? What was so important that you couldn’t wait until we made it to your pack?”
Oliver clears his throat awkwardly and fiddles with his seatbelt. I can tell that he doesn’t want to tell me what he knows.
“I am her mate, you know?” I say, frustrated. “I have a right to know what is going on with her.”
Alpha Oliver swallows hard and clears his throat. “I think the prophecy about her and her brother was read wrong when they were babies,” he says quietly.
Pulling the car into the hospital parking lot, I spin and look at Oliver like he has lost his mind. “How does someone misread a prophecy?”
“Prophecies are often cryptic,” Oliver begins, and I g***n loudly.
“Is there any way to talk about this without bringing in the nerd s**t?” I grumble.
“I am afraid not,” Oliver says. “But if you aren’t interested in understanding the prophecy about our mate, then I can stop explaining it.”
Whipping a car into a parking spot, I glare at Oliver. “Noway, Book Boy,” I hiss at him. “You aren’t going to hold something like this over my head. I want to know everything.”
“Have you even heard the prophecy of the Luna Queen and her brother?” Oliver asks as he crosses his arms over his chest.
“I am a thousand percent sure you are the only one nerdy enough to do that much research on Raven,” I laugh.
Oliver shakes his head in my direction. “Basically,” Oliver sighs. “It says that one of the twins will be the ruler over all the packs. But the prophecy doesn’t name which twin. It also says that someone will come looking for them because only one of them can rule.”
“Are you saying that Raven may not be the rightful ruler of the packs?” I ask as a low rumble of a growl forms in my chest.
“Of course not,” Oliver dismisses me with a wave of his hand. “She bears the mark of the Moon Goddess. She is obviously the Child of Light.”
“Child of Light?” I ask in confusion.
Oliver lets out a loud sigh of frustration. “That’s what the twins were called in the prophecy. ‘Two children will be born. One of dark and one of light.”
“We already know that people are after Raven,” I roll my eyes in Oliver’s direction. “What are you telling me that I don’t already know?”
“That if they are looking for the Luna Queen, they are more than likely looking for her brother too,” Oliver finally spits out the truth. “It is possible that they may lead him into the dark.”
“Are you saying that Alpha Kieran is leading these attacks on Raven?” I laugh loudly. “They are close and always have been. That theory is absurd.”
“I don’t think that he is behind the attacks. But I do believe that people are meeting with him and trying to convince him that he is the rightful ruler of the packs,” Oliver says. “And I don’t think they will stop until they find a way to make him the Alpha King.”
“Why didn’t you say that, to begin with?” I scream at Oliver. “Eyes need to be on Alpha Kieran and Raven. All of the time.”
“The Alpha triplets intimidate me. I didn’t want to make them think poorly of their only son,” Oliver says shyly. “I thought it might have been easier just to tell the Luna Queen my plan.”
“Come on,” I begrudgingly tell Oliver. “Our mate needs us.”
