It was hard for Jay to say anything. Except for Felix and his mother, the rest of them were like strangers to Doris. What was he to do? He had no clue.

He had never encountered such a thing before!

Why did Doris lose her memory? Did it have something to do with Felix taking her away?

Sighing, Jay drove her home.

Getting out of the car, Doris looked at the luxurious villa, which was far from the tile roofed house in the village as she remembered.

"Jay, you're incredibly rich! No wonder Felix said..." Stopping herself, Doris hurriedly covered her mouth with her hand. Jay despised Felix. She thought that she had better not mention him, in case it stirred up some trouble.

"What did he say?" Jay got out of the car and shut the door.

"Oh, he didn't say anything. Are we going in now?" Doris pointed at the villa and asked.

"Doris, this is your home. You can do whatever you want; you don't need my permission. Do you understand?" Jay held her hand and said softly.

Doris' hand trembled slightly and she drew it back instinctively. "Okay, let's go inside."

"Okay," said Jay, frowning helplessly.

When Doris came in, she saw a row of servants standing in the living room. She knew this was a rich family but she was still taken aback. Were they constantly waiting at their beck and call?

"Mrs. Fang, you have finally returned. Where have you been?" The servants were so happy to see her again, they were almost brought to tears.

They were so worried. If something happened to her, they were most definitely going to get the blame.

Fortunately, she returned safe and sound.

Doris smiled uncomfortably. She was not used to being called Mrs. Fang.

Jay came in behind her.

The servants bowed their heads respectfully.

"Aren't they supposed to be asleep?" Doris looked at Jay and asked curiously.

"They were responsible for your disappearance, so they are not allowed to sleep tonight!" said Jay angrily.

Doris yawned. Even though she had slept, it had been an exhausting experience and she was tired again. "Are you tired?" she asked the servants.

The servants nodded. They had been standing here for several hours. They were not only sleepy, but also hungry.

Punishing them by not sleeping wasn't the worst thing in the world.

After all, they weren't fired. This job was much more important to them than sleeping!

"Jay, I'm uncomfortable with them just standing there. Let them sleep. I'm back anyway, right?" said Doris.

"Okay. You can go back to your rooms. Remember to be more careful and look after Mrs. Fang. Do you hear me?" Jay growled.

"Yes, of course. Thank you, Mrs. Fang. We'll return to our rooms,1 the servants said to her gratefully.

"It's okay. You can go back now." Doris waved her hand. This superiority wasn't bad after all, but she wasn't sure what kind of family this was.

She was a little scared. Had she lived here before?

Why did it feel so surreal?

"Honey, go upstairs," Jay said lovingly, trying to grab her arm.

Unexpectedly, Doris dodged.

Jay was at a loss. In the past, when he showed his love to her, she either glanced at him with disgust, kissed him on the face playfully, or leaned in his arms endearingly. Why did she suddenly reject any physical contact? This was completely new to him.

Did she no longer love him?

Was Felix her only memory?

Just the thought of Felix drove Jay crazy with jealousy. How could that man suddenly appear? "Doris, do you want to take a bath?" asked Jay.

She stared at him and hesitated. Doris shakily said, "I can take a bath by myself. Don't come over!"

"But you are pregnant. What if something bad happens? It's better for you to bathe with me, Doris!" Jay was trying his best not to startle her so he gently said, "We are a couple. You don't have to be so resistant towards me. I love you!" "I know. I'll be careful in there. Don't worry," Doris refused, still not budging.

Jay had no choice but to open the bathroom door. "Okay, I'll wait outside. Call me if you need anything." "Don't worry. Everything will be fine. I will be extra careful." Then Doris opened the bathroom door and walked in.

Standing in the middle of the bathroom, looking at the incomparably extravagant setup, she wondered why she was with Jay before.

Was she actually just drawn to his money? Was Felix right?

Did she marry this man for money and not for love?

Jay wasn't a bad guy though.

How much had she forgotten?

Doris took off her clothes and lay down in the bathtub. She closed her eyes and tried to relax herself, but she still couldn't remember anything. Jay took the bathrobe and waited quietly at the door.

It had been a while and Doris still hadn't come out. Finally, he couldn't help but raise his hand and knock at the door. "Doris, have you finished bathing?" Doris leapt out of the bathtub in a hurry and said, "I'm coming. Just a second."

"I've got your bathrobe. Do you want it?"

"Okay," Doris replied.

She was still unfamiliar with the word 'bathrobe'. This was supposed to be her normal life but she remembered none of it.

She opened the door slightly and took the bathrobe.

The lunar white one was her favorite color. She got dressed and finally walked out.

She looked at Jay shyly.

Jay raised his hand to tuck her hair behind her ear. "You are so beautiful!"

Doris blushed, embarrassed. "Yes, when I was a child, a lot of people from the village told me the same thing."

The "village" was a strange word for Jay.

"Doris, can you tell me about the village, Felix, and your parents?"

The smile on her face was quickly replaced by fear. "It's late. It's time for us to go to bed," she said, avoiding the question.

Her past was nothing but pain, scarring her mind. She really had no intention of recalling it.
