Sweet Twins Indulge in Daddy's Love -
Chapter 366 What's Wrong
When the call ended, Nancy nervously walked towards Charles. "Is there any news about Edward?"
In a hurry, Charles put on his coat and glanced at her. "Yes, I'll go and have a look. Just stay at home."
Then he walked towards the stairs, but Nancy followed him. "I want to go with you!"
"You are a woman. You'd better stay here. It's dangerous to go there," said Charles as he went downstairs.
But Nancy was firm with her decision. "I'll be more worried if I stay here and do nothing! You'd better let me go with you."
Defeated, Charles didn't say anything more.
Although Doris was her friend, she couldn't help but doubt. "Doris has always been careless and unreliable. Can you believe her words?"
With a lopsided smile, he replied, "She could be right or wrong, but let's have a look first."
"I hope she's not mistaken. Edward has been missing for two days!" Nancy prayed.
They drove to the address given by Doris.
On their way, Nancy felt nervous. She didn't know what they would face.
When in danger, the first person she thought of was the police, so she suggested,
"Let's call the police, shall we?"
As soon as they arrived, Charles explained, "We haven't figured out the truth yet. It's not appropriate to call the police."
After all, it was just news from Doris. They were not sure it was true or not. It would be embarrassing to disturb the police if it wasn't true. "Whose house is this?" asked Nancy.
"I've checked it. It belongs to a man named Tom, but I don't know who that person is. Does Edward know him?"
"No, I've never heard of it from him." She knew most of the people associated with Edward.
But it was the first time that Nancy had heard of this name.
It was Charles who got out of the car first, and looked around the courtyard. It was a shabby scene, as if no one lived there.
Did Doris mistake him for someone else?
But Charles didn't think so. Jay had seen Edward's photo before, and so did Doris.
What was wrong?
He walked towards the villa.
The door was rusty and it seemed that it hadn't been opened for a long time.
When he was about to climb over the wall, an old voice came, "Sir, what are you doing?"
Charles looked up and saw an old man at the door.
Respectfully, he replied, "I'm looking for someone."
The old man smiled awkwardly. 'Tm living alone here. Who are you looking for?"
Well, Charles sensed something, so he fixed his eyes on the old man. 'Tm looking for a man named Edward."
Although the old man felt a little uneasy, he was not scared at all. "Sir, you've come to the wrong place. There's no Edward here."
At this time, Charles' eyes went cold. "Do you mean, you don't want me to come in and search your house?"
The old man didn't budge at all. "Well, no one can enter other people's house as he likes! Sir, you can't either!"
With furrowed brows, Charles said, "I don't want to trespass into your house, but I got the news that Edward is indeed here." All of a sudden, Hiram appeared with his men. "Why are you here?" Charles was overjoyed to see Hiram.
"It's Mr. Fang who called me. He said you are here," said Hiram.
In his mind, he was thankful that they came.
With a nod, he ordered, "Take someone in."
"Yes, sir." Like what he had said, Hiram instructed his subordinates to search the house.
When Charles took out his phone to call the police, Nancy got out of the car.
"I also want to go inside to look for Edward!" Determination and worry was evident in her eyes.
But since Charles knew that it could be dangerous inside, he stopped her. "No, I've called the police. They'll be here soon!"
"What if the bad guys kill Edward?" asked Nancy worriedly.
If there was something Charles hated the most, that was to see Nancy hurt or worried. "It's pointless to take Edward's life. I'll go and check it myself, so stop worrying." Her expression changed when she looked at him. "Okay."
As time went by, this man was getting gentler in front of her. He was no longer as cruel and terrible as he was when they first met.
Sure enough, Hiram took Edward out soon. He was fine except that he looked like a mess.
Finally, Nancy sighed in relief. "Edward, are you okay?"
Unexpectedly, Edward, who had faced danger, told Nancy, "I'm sorry, I made you worried."
"It's okay. Edward, as long as you're fine, I'm relieved. By the way, what's going on?" A part of her was still anxious.
Instead of answering her, Edward looked at Charles. "You should know, right?"
"Yes, I know!" As he spoke, Charles put his hand on Edward's shoulder. "You look good. It seems like you're not hungry at all."
"Well, it's meaningless for them to starve me to death, so I've eaten well!" he joked.
Seeing the two men talking happily made Nancy angry. "How can the two of you laugh when Edward just got out of a dangerous situation?"
Her angry voice made Charles smile more brightly. He opened the door and turned to Edward. "Get in the car. I have something to ask you."
But instead of obeying him, he shrugged with a smile on his face. "Look, the police car is coming. I guess I have to make a statement first!" 'TH let Hiram go!" said Charles.
"No way. Hiram can't replace me. See you later!" Without waiting for his reply, Edward strode towards the police car.
Not long after, Hiram escorted the old man out.
"Hiram, you go with Edward, understand?" Charles ordered him.
Without a second thought, Hiram replied, "Okay, sir."
"Let's go back." His phone rang as soon as he finished his words. When he saw Jay's name on the screen, he tried to walk out but Nancy grabbed his arm, indicating that she didn't want him to leave. Charles shrugged and answered the phone.
"How's it going, Charles? Did you find Edward?"
"Yes, he has been saved," Charles replied, his eyes smiling.
"Did Derrick do this? I guess..." Jay wanted to say something but stopped on a second thought.
"I guess so. I'll update you once I find something!" Nancy waited for him to end the call.
"Derrick? He doesn't know Edward. Why did he kidnap him?" Nancy asked helplessly.
"Don't worry. I will find the answer soon!" After lighting a cigarette, he continued, "Let's go home. The kids are at home and I'm worried about them."
Speaking of the children, Nancy felt her heart ache.
She hoped that those bad guys wouldn't hurt the children!
The next morning, Edward hadn't come back yet.
After sending the children to the kindergarten, Charles went straight to the police station.
He asked Nancy to ask for leave and wait for the news at home.
At the same day, the result of the paternity test came out. Angelina came to the hospital early.
She soon found the doctor and got the result of the paternity test as she expected.
She was very happy, because this result was what she wanted.
So she gave the rest of the money to the doctor without hesitation.
Erin, who didn't know Angelina happened to bump into her when she was in a hurry to get the test result for a patient.
