Sweet Twins Indulge in Daddy's Love
Chapter 365 He Is Family

"Nancy, I find that you sometimes have the strangest train of thought. If Edward came back home, wouldn't that be a good thing? He would, in fact, be back in his own home. What are you so worried about?" Charles asked this in a bitter tone, making it apparent that he was jealous of Edward again.

"I've just been looking forward to it. Charles, where do you think he went?" she anxiously asked, releasing a heavy sigh afterwards.

"Well, maybe he's feeling guilty about doing something wrong. Anyway, let's leave it alone for now. Let's go!"

"I can understand if you're jealous of other men, but not Edward. He's part of my family. Don't you understand?" She proceeded to hold Bobby's hand and looked him straight in the eye. "Bobby, what do you think? Should we go back to Edward's house or find a hotel for tonight?"

"I... I'll do whatever you decide. However, I've also been worried about Uncle Edward. Where on earth has he gone?" Bobby spoke hesitantly.

"Yes, daddy. I think they're right. It would be smart to stay in Uncle Edward's house for tonight. Let's just go back. Is that okay?" Nadia said while tugging on his arm obediently.

Charles was always willing to compromise when it came to his two children.

"Okay," he said.

Charles then opened the door for his children and signaled them to go inside the car.

When they arrived back at Edward's villa, they only saw a dark, gloomy yard. Nancy couldn't help but feel a little disappointed.

"Mommy, don't worry about it. Uncle Edward is a good man and can take care of himself. Everything will be fine!" Nadia came over to comfort her dejected mother.

Nancy kissed Nadia's forehead and said, "Mommy knows."

"Nadia, isn't daddy a good man?" Charles suddenly intercepted.

"Of course daddy is a good man. You are just as good as Uncle Edward!" Nadia answered with conviction.

Nancy was entertained by Nadia's response and said, "Good answer, Nadia!"

All of a sudden, Bobby angrily interrupted and said, "Nadia, you should have said that daddy is even better than Uncle Edward!"

"Exactly! Bobby is right, Nadia. Don't forget that daddy is better than him!" said Charles.

"Why?" Nadia asked in confusion.

"Because you are daddy's child, not Uncle Edward's," Charles emphasized in a proud manner.

"Well, enough of this nonsense with daddy. Let's get out of the car." Nancy opened the door and got out while carrying Nadia in her arms.

It was already late in the evening when they arrived. So, as soon as they got inside the villa, Nancy bathed the two children and put them to bed.

Nancy looked around Edward's room once more, and released a soft sigh.

"Do you really think that Edward is a good man?" The more that Charles thought about it, the more he doubted Edward. He found it quite difficult to see through the man's mysterious eyes, as if he was holding a lot of secrets.

"Of course. Why would you still ask this?" murmured Nancy with slight irritation.

"We don't know for sure," answered Charles ambiguously.

"What the hell do you mean?" Nancy asked angrily.

Charles shrugged it off and didn't utter another word.

"Unbelievable!" exclaimed Nancy, before turning around and left to go to their bedroom.

Whenever she mentioned Edward's name, she felt as though Charles' brain would just begin to malfunction.

The moment she thought that, she suddenly heard a phone ringing. Nancy subconsciously stopped in the middle of her steps.

Then she heard Hiram's voice from the phone.

"What's wrong?" Charles asked softly.

"Mr. Fu, I just got news that Mr. Wu had been kidnapped by two unknown people. For now, their location is still unclear, but I have sent several people over to search for him!"

"Kidnapped?" asked Charles while his eyes widened from bewilderment.

Thoughts rummaged in Charles head for a while. 'Who would kidnap him?

What was their intention?

Could this possibly be an act that he directed and acted in? Is he doing this to gain Nancy's sympathy?1 "Yes. We haven't seem to figure out who Mr. Wu had offended. Everything is still unclear for now, but we're doing our best to investigate. All we know is that it seemed to have happened when he was heading towards the airport!" Hiram added.

"Figure it out as soon as possible!" A deep frown was etched on the corner of Charles' lips. It seemed that things were more complicated than he had expected.

"Yes, sir!" As soon as Hiram said that, he ended the call.

"Charles, what does this mean?" Nancy said anxiously from the door, with eyes wide with fear. She felt like her heart was going to explode, completely afraid that something terrible would happen to Edward. Charles held Nancy's hand supportively and said, "Don't be scared. As long as Edward is still alive, I will do everything I can to save him."

Her hands were trembling aggressively; she murmured to herself, "Edward is a good man. He will be fine. I'm absolutely sure of that."

By this point she was so petrified that she was close to bursting to tears.

"Charles, do you really think that Edward will be okay?"

In her fragile state, she just needed to hear Charles tell her that he was fine, and she would already believe that Edward was going to be okay.

"He is going to be fine. I'll check up and see if they have found his location." Charles proceeded to call the airport and asked for Edward Wu's flight number. After a few moments, the airport personnel got back to him and said that Edward had in fact bought a plane ticket for a flight, but didn't seem to arrive for the departure.

A hurricane of thoughts overwhelmed Nancy, causing her to turn pale from fear. "How could something like this happen to Edward? He was always a nice person and treated everyone very well. I had never seen him offend anyone before. How could anyone be cruel enough to hurt him?"

Charles figured he couldn't keep hiding the fact from her. He nodded gently and said, "Nancy, listen to me. This doesn't mean that Edward offended anyone, but someone had selfish intentions and did it on purpose."

"What should we do? I don't want anything terrible to happen to him, Charles! Tell me, what can I do to save him?" Nancy had never been so worried about another person before. Edward was such a gentle man and couldn't fight back if he had to. It would be so monstrous to kidnap such a softhearted man.

It was true that Edward was gentle whenever Nancy was there. He had never fought with anyone in front of her face.

In reality, however, he was actually very good at fighting. He had gotten into a fight with Charles before.

Of course, Nancy never knew about that.

"It's okay. Nancy, I'm going to take care of everything. Don't worry, okay?"

Nancy nodded obediently, but she could still feel her heart twisting in ways she never felt before.

"For now, go to sleep. I'll tell you when I hear anything from them," Charles persuaded.

"I wouldn't be able to fall asleep.1 Nancy sniffed desolately. She couldn't help but worry about Edward. If anything happened to him, she would owe him the rest of her life.

So did Charles.

They were both stupefied on who would kidnap Edward.

Was it Derrick?

When this thought came across Charles, his eyes suddenly lit up. It was quite obvious that Derrick had the biggest motive to kidnap Edward. Of course, he didn't want Edward to confirm the recent rumor about him and Nancy.

Now, the rumor had spread and was widely known across their communities.

If Edward wasn't there to clarify it, the relationship between them would be considered confirmed. So...

Charles felt a chill shock him on his spine when he thought of this. If it was true that Edward wasn't conspiring with Joseph and was truly kidnapped by them, he would definitely feel sympathetic towards the man. After all, Charles had misunderstood him all along.

Charles waited anxiously all night for news about Edward.

Nancy also spent the night restless from her thoughts.

After what seemed like forever, they received a call from Jay.

"Alas, why is Jay making trouble at this time?" said Nancy, scowling at Charles.

Charles left the room to take the call and said, "Hello?"

"Charles, Doris just told me that she saw a person who looked exactly like Edward at No. 21, North Sea Road today!" Jay then handed the phone to Doris.

"Oh, Charles. I saw Edward at No. 21, North Sea Road today. Maybe you should get someone to take a look over there," Doris said anxiously.

"Got it. I'm going there immediately!" Charles ended the call.
