Return Of The Prodigy -
Return of the Prodigy Chapter 43
It's over!
The secretary sighed in his heart, quickly lowered his head, exited the office, and tightly closed the door.
As the door closed, Giselle slapped Edgar across the face, angrily scolding, "You shameless."
Edgar, slapped on the left cheek, felt a burning pain. He abruptly stood up, roaring, "I told you not to come. You insisted on coming. Now what? Are you satisfied? Are you happy?" "Mad woman, I'm doing it for your own good. Why won't you listen?"
Giselle, infuriated, said, "Is this how you do good for me? In broad daylight, in the company... you... you're truly disgraceful."
Edgar, agitated, retorted, "What's wrong in the company? The company is mine. I can do whatever I want here."
"And what about me? What am I? Am I still your wife in your eyes? I, I..." Tears streamed down Giselle's face, full of grievances.
"Shut up! Cry, cry, cry. All day long, apart from crying, what else can you do? For the trivial matters, you're here screaming and yelling. Look at your current state, just like a shrew."
"Which wealthy man in the world doesn't have multiple wives and concubines? I haven't brought them home, and I'm already considering your feelings."
"Look at yourself, can't dress properly, can't groom yourself, messy like a man. Are you still a woman?"
Giselle, pale, said, "I became like this all for you. We started from scratch. I worked with you day and night, hauling sand, accumulating funds for you, car after car."
"Later, when we started the company, there was no driver. I hauled goods for you every day, sleeping only two hours a day."
"As the company grew, you asked me to go home and take care of the children. Fine, I cooked and cleaned for you every day, taking care of your daily life. And now, you... you actually despise me for getting old?" Angry about the past, Edgar became more agitated. "Why are you crying? Did I spend your money recklessly?"
"Money, money. Is that all you see? Do I want money? I want a home!" Giselle roared.
Edgar, impatient, waved his hand, "Stop talking about those useless things. Every day, looking at your face, I'm fed up. Let's get a divorce. The child is mine. Don't even think about it. I'll give you a million and a house." "Divorce? Do you... do you... you still have a conscience? You're talking about divorce with me now?" Giselle cried, tears flowing.
Edgar, with a cold face, said, "Blame yourself if you want to blame someone. It's all your own doing. You insisted on it. Now that you've seen it, if we don't divorce, do you want to endure it? Think it over. This is how I am. Either divorce or endure it. If you think the amount I'm offering is too little, want to make a big fuss, hehe... then we'll see in court."
"I'll give you one day to think it over. Find a lawyer and sign the papers whenever you're ready."
"Get lost."
"You, you..." Giselle staggered backward, trembling. Her eyes were full of pain and unwillingness.
She looked at the man in front of her, so unfamiliar, like a demon. Every word felt like a knife stabbing into her heart. She had been stabbed and bleeding profusely, but he couldn't see it.
Was he still the man she chose back then? He, he... how could he be so heartless?
Giselle felt deep despair and helplessness!
What could she do? Who could help her?
Boom!
Suddenly, a loud noise, the office door was kicked open. Adam walked into the office with a face full of killing intent.
"You scum, you deserve to die!"
At the office door, the secretary, with tears in his eyes, said, "Mr. Edgar... I couldn't stop it..."
Edgar, full of anger and nowhere to vent, immediately cursed, "Who the hell are you? Are you looking for death?"
Last night, when the Hartleys held a celebration banquet, Edgar's attention was entirely on Robert and Katie. He didn't even spare a glance at Adam.
Adam, however, completely ignored Edgar, turned his head, and looked at Giselle.
"Are you his wife?"
Giselle didn't know Adam but nodded while crying.
Adam continued, "Do you want to become the owner of this company? Change your destiny! Even if not for yourself, for the child."
Edgar was also stunned, scolding with a frown, "Who the hell are you? Want to show off? Get out, this is not the place for your bragging."
