Return Of The Prodigy
Return of the Prodigy Chapter 194

Adam was infuriated. He could not help wondering if it was a mistake to let Lucas speak to them on his behalf!

It's true I am married into the Hartley family, but how did Lucas know about the cooking and cleaning I have done? Did he have to bring this up?

The room full of people exploded instantly.

"Where is he? We have to save him now!"

"He's our master. How can we allow him to suffer such humiliation? Which family did he marry into? I'm going to kill them!" "Quit dawdling and just get to it."

Righteous indignation swept across the hall. Everyone wanted to save their leader from this abuse!

Lucas sighed again. He pretended to wipe tears from his eyes and shook his head miserably as he said, "I understand how you feel, but please calm down. I felt the same way when I first learned about it. I wanted to give him everything I owned and reinstate his glory!" Adam glared angrily. When did you say that, you damned monkey?

Lucas continued, "He refused to take my help and told me to keep a low profile and be patient. How could I let this slide? I went behind his back and set up Dragon Conglomerate. I have invited you over today so that I can coordinate our resources and help him rebuild the family! I know he doesn't want to implicate us. The family has been good to us. Even though some of us have our own businesses now, we all know that we were able to succeed only by using the family's connections and resources. Now, he needs us. What do you think we should do?"

Brayden was moved. He patted his chest and said firmly, "If he needs us, I can give him everything I own."

"Me too!"

"Same here."

People spoke one after another.

Adam was also moved by their reactions. They are my true allies!

Lucas was also very moved. He patted the couch, stood up, and said, "I was right about you. All of you are good men! Our master's a reasonable man. He knows you've worked hard for your businesses, so he doesn't want to make you give them up for nothing. I suggest that you transfer 51% shares of your businesses to Dragon Conglomerate. This means you will give control of your companies to him. Are you willing to make sacrifices for him?" The moment his words landed, the hall fell silent!

The people were very all pumped up by his speech just moments ago, but the atmosphere was eerily quiet now. Time ticked second by second, but there was only silence!

The smile on Adam's face stiffened as well!

Lucas raised his brow and said unhappily, "Are you going to pull a Tom?"

Who's Tom?

Everyone looked at Lucas quizzically.

Adam was also curious to hear what Lucas had to say about Tom.

Lucas sneered and said, "Tom's the kind of guy who, if someone asked him 'Say you struck the lottery and won a million dollars, how much of it would you donate to charity?', he'd promise to donate hundreds of thousands, but if asked 'How much would you donate if you had a couple hundred bucks?', Tom would refuse to donate a dime, because as it happened, he was carrying that much money!" The hall went quiet, Adam as well.

Sandra was busy observing as she learned the ropes. She also went quiet.

Did he have to crack a joke? This was such a tasteless joke, especially at a time like this!

Everyone naturally caught the sarcasm in the joke.

Moments later, Brayden was the first to speak. "Cut the sarcasm already. I'm a man of my word. As long as I can see him in person, I'm willing to sign over everything to him."

Tate sighed and said, "I think so too. You won't let us see Master, yet you are demanding our shares. Do you expect us to take your word at face value? How could this be right?" "Where is he? Why won't you let us meet?"

The subject quickly changed and people started asking about Adam.

Lucas replied coldly, "His identity's very sensitive. How can he show his face freely? To be honest, six years have passed ever since the family got massacred. What if you're working for the enemy? What if you're here to hunt him down? Let me make things clear tonight. He doesn't know anything about this meeting. It's my idea alone. He's a kind man, so he's willing to trust you. Unfortunately, I'm a businessman! If any of you want to see him, you may. You simply have to prove your loyalty first!"

He made it clear Adam would have nothing to do with them if they did not prove their loyalty first. The atmosphere in the hall felt intense and people looked angry. It was absolutely stifling and scary! It was their first meeting, but it suddenly went downhill. After some time, Brayden said, "Fine. I'll do as you say and give up my shares."

One after another, the others followed suit.

Tate chimed in, "If you can prove your identity and that you're acting on Master's orders, I'm happy to give up my shares as well."

Nolan also agreed. "Yes, can you prove you are acting on his orders?"

Jonas said, "If you can prove your identity, I'm happy to hand over my business as well."

A smile appeared on Lucas' face. He reached his hand out from his pocket and retrieved a small token the size of his palm.

The token was completely black, so it was impossible to tell what kind of material it was made of. Even though it clearly looked very old and worn out, the carvings were still distinct.

It contained an image of a huge imposing dragon flying in the sky surrounded by clouds. Beneath was a luxuriant mountain ridge, and exquisitely engraved animals were looking up at the dragon. It seemed as though they were bowing to their lord. On the other side of the token was engraved the word "Drake" in powerful strokes.

The moment Lucas showed them the token, everyone got excited!

The family possessed two tokens. One of them was used for the martial arts world while the other was a family seal.

Lucas had just produced the family's private seal: the Drake Seal!

"It's the Drake Seal. Why would you have it?"

"It's the seal of the highest authority in the family. How did you get your hands on it?"

Lucas smiled calmly. "That goes without saying... He gave it to me."

The hall fell into a long silence.

"Is this seal enough to prove my identity?" asked Lucas.

The people were all still quiet. Moments later, they simply nodded in unison.

"Good. Since I have given you proof of my identity, it's time for you to sign share transfer agreements. Sandra, please." Lucas then waved his hand.

Sandra had come prepared with a stack of documents and handed it out to everyone.

The people all frowned.

Adam himself looked annoyed. He had not told Lucas to do this. That monkey had gone against his orders!

What's he trying to do this time? This is considered daylight robbery. Would those people agree to transfer shares?

Adam looked at the screen intently. For a moment, even he had doubts whether they would do it!
