Return Of The Prodigy
Return of the Prodigy Chapter 195

Time could make a lot of things go away, and loyalty was no exception.

Adam sighed as he watched his past allies holding the documents with frowns on their faces.

In reality, he did not blame them. They had worked hard to make their businesses succeed and accumulate wealth. Lucas was demanding half of their business and a controlling stake in them. Anyone in their shoes would say no. Lucas was acting against Adam's orders.

In reality, Adam had prepared plenty of money for this. He wanted to take over the shares at 20% market value. He had no intention of taking it from them for nothing.

Meanwhile, in the hall. Lucas said, "What are we waiting for? Have you changed your minds? You might be successful now, but let's not forget you have the family to thank for this. Without them, you could never have gotten to this scale in just six years. Just look at your attitudes. How could you have the cheek to demand his presence?" Lucas blatantly despised them. He was deliberately trying to trigger them.

Everyone instantly flushed in embarrassment.

A split second later, Brayden shouted indignantly, "I told you. I owe the family everything. I'll sign the document!"

Then, he picked up the pen, signed the document, and impressed his thumbprint on it.

Tate sighed. He shook his head and said, "I didn't expect him to test us this way. Never mind. Better to be safe than sorry, right?"

Tate also signed the agreement.

Since someone had taken the lead, the remaining people also stopped hesitating and signed the share transfer agreement.

After everyone was done signing the agreement, Lucas got Sandra to collect the paperwork. He said happily, "I told you, this isn't his idea. I wanted to test your loyalty. In reality, he has no intention of taking your companies for nothing. He has already prepared plenty of money for this. He offered to take over your shares at a 20% markup. Please give Sandra your bank account numbers so that she can transfer the money to you."

Everyone opened their eyes wide in astonishment as they stood frozen.

After several seconds, they finally snapped out of their shock. They were not sure what to make of Lucas' words now.

"Didn't you say he married into a family in order to survive and suffered abuse?"

"You said he has a hard life. How could he have all this money lying around?"

"Lucas, what the hell are you still hiding from us?"

Everyone kept wanting answers from him.

Lucas smiled and replied calmly, "I wasn't kidding. He did marry into a family and got treated like a servant. As for his money, it was probably his inheritance."

Everyone paused briefly before nodding in unison. This was the only reason that made sense.

When the family got massacred, Adam was barely a young man, so he knew nothing about running a business. Even if he was a genius, it was impossible for him to make enough money to buy over their companies' shares in just six y "Perhaps his father gave it to him before the massacre."

"That must be it. Then again, why did he have to marry into a family if he was loaded?"

"Does he have some kind of fetish?"

People could not help speculating before turning to look at Lucas quizzically.

Lucas nodded and said in a serious tone, "I feel the same way."

Adam was infuriated looking at this. He really wanted to charge downstairs and kick Lucas in the face.

years.

When he saw everyone signing the share transfer agreements, Adam automatically smiled. He had been nervous about this, but everything had ended on a good note. Even though he did not need their companies, it was a crucial step in his plans to rebuild the family. Naturally, Adam had seen through Lucas' schemes by now. That monkey had reversed the order of his request. He was supposed to be upfront about the money. Instead, he made them agree to sign the share transfer agreements before informing them they would be paid. Even though it was a minor detail, the meaning of the proposal had changed drastically.

Lucas wanted to test their loyalty!

Adam shook his head before he continued looking at the screen.

After signing the documents, the atmosphere downstairs felt a lot better. These men did not know each other when they came in, but they instantly became closer now that everyone had a common objective.

"Lucas, we have signed the share transfer agreements. When can we see him?" asked Brayden in concern.

Lucas shook his head and said, "Like I said, his identity is very sensitive, so he can't meet you in person yet."

Brayden frowned and said angrily, "Does it have to be so complicated? We just want to make sure he's all right."

In that case, there is nothing for you to worry about. He's married with a wife and kid and even has a mistress. It's the full package.

Lucas mocked Adam in his heart before he smiled and changed the subject. "Now that we're all on the same page about rebuilding the clan, let's get cracking. We have two targets. The first one is the Banks. The next target is the Moodys. They're both located in Lancashire."

"I have investigated them. The Banks are a martial arts clan, so Brayden and Nolan will handle them. The Moodys are in the medicinal herb industry, so Jonas will handle them. We have to take them out as soon as possible. I want your companies to take over them without involving Dragon Conglomerate. Even though you have signed over your shares, your companies will still keep growing, so it's a good deal, right?" Lucas handed out the missions in an orderly manner. Moments later, Lavender frowned and asked, "What about me? When can I see Ms. Drake?"

Lucas smiled and said, "I have a job for you now. I recall you mentioned you're working for the Morettis as a bodyguard, right? I need you to investigate the family and give me a report." Lavender froze briefly. "The Morettis? Are they the enemy?"

"If we want to become strong, it is just a matter of time before we cross hands with elite families in the capital. We should do our homework first and be prepared!" Lucas said calmly. Lavender nodded. "After investigating this, I want to see Ms. Drake."

Lucas agreed right away.

"Someone has recently organized an Ultimate Fighting Championship in Lisle. I hear they are looking for survivors of the family. What should we do about them?" Brayden said.

Lucas' eyes lit up. "I know. After I'm done making arrangements for the opening ceremony of Dragon Conglomerate, I plan on investigating this matter. If they are trying anything funny, I'll personally take care of them." Adam paused briefly before he smiled powerlessly.

What the hell? I'm the organizer of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Do you want to start an internal feud? You're trying to rebuild the family, is this your idea of starting with a bang?

The likes of you are no match for Priscilla, Fannie, and Owen. You'll only get beaten to a pulp. They don't care about rules. The moment you touch them, they'll just draw their weapons!

I have to give Lucas a heads up. Hopefully, he won't get into any trouble.

As he contemplated, something suddenly dawned on him. Lucas mentioned holding an opening ceremony for the company!

If word about Dragon Conglomerate spread, how would Leroy Ortiz react?

Considering Leroy's personality, he was bound to get Dragon Conglomerate to join the Chamber of Commerce.

Would Katie go to the opening ceremony?

What if they both try to get Dragon Conglomerate to join the chambers? What should I do then?

If Dragon Conglomerate went with the old Chamber of Commerce, it would affect the reputation of the new Chamber of Commerce negatively.

Dragon Conglomerate's building was purchased from Lionel, and he is a member of the old Chamber of Commerce. If Dragon Conglomerate chooses to go with the new Chamber of Commerce, Lionel might get exposed and Katie's plans would be ruined. They were undoubtedly in a tricky spot. Adam had to think this through carefully.
