Return Of The Prodigy
Return of the Prodigy Chapter 184

Inside a spacious, brightly lit conference room at a company, dozens of upper management were sitting around a rectangular conference table.

A handsome man dressed in a sky-blue suit, his hair styled impeccably, sat at the conference table. He was sporting a Vacheron Constantin watch in his left hand and holding his phone in his right. He slowly put down his phone as he looked at the woman standing across from him in contempt. The woman was very well-maintained and looked like she was only in her thirties. Her outfit consisted of designer goods, and she had a curvy figure. She was slightly above average in the looks department. At the moment, she was frowning angrily at the man. "Madame," said the man mischievously.

The woman instantly glared at the man, furious.

The man shook his head and continued nonchalantly, "We're adults and also colleagues. I know you love me, but don't you think it's a bad idea for you to take it out on me using work? I think it's very below the belt. I understand if you are jealous of my good looks and youth, but you shouldn't have insulted my professionalism. You know nothing of my true talent, and I was simply keeping a low profile. You are deeply mistaken. I was just passing time in the company, and you were just a fling. "As for you, you only reached your

level by using men, including our board members, right? Did they ever tell you? Even though you look like a nice car on the outside, your headlights and gears are loose. Your engine has zero power, and you lack lubrication. I might have a big house, but why would I want a public bus? If you want to give rides to random men, I suggest considering men outside the company. Otherwise, word will just keep spreading."

The man paused before sipping his drink.

There were ten upper management personnel sitting in the conference room. They were absolutely stunned by the man's outburst and stared at him in disbelief.

The man dressed in a sky-blue suit was none other than Lucas Carter.

Lucas raised his brow and said, "Why aren't you saying anything? You got to your position by sleeping around. To be honest, you don't have what it takes to touch me."

The woman turned crimson as she trembled uncontrollably. After composing herself, she yelled, "Lucas Carter, get out this instant! You're fired!"

Lucas smiled happily. "Why thanks. According to the labor law, you have to compensate me for six months' salary if you want to fire me for no reason. I might not need the money, but I am a prudent man. Please be sure to transfer me the money." He then turned to wave to the other people in the conference room. "It's been a pleasure working with you, but this place isn't good enough. It's time for me to go to greener pastures. Adios!"

With that, he turned on his heels and strode out of the room!

The room full of people simply stared, dumbstruck!

The woman screamed hysterically from the conference room, "Lucas Carter, I'm going to make you regret it!"

Meanwhile, at 8:00 p.m. in Lisle.

A Lamborghini pulled up in front of the gates of a villa. Lucas Carter got out of the car and shouted, "Rabbit, I'm here. Aren't you going to personally welcome me?"

The two Black Snake Brigade soldiers stationed at the gates glanced at each other. Then, one of them said to Lucas as though he was an idiot, "Are you sure you have the right place?" Lucas raised his brow and replied proudly, "Impossible. I have an excellent memory."

The Black Snake Brigade soldier went quiet briefly and asked, "Who are you looking for?"

Lucas pondered. Since Adam told him to find him here, these guards ought to be his men. "David," Lucas stated Adam's real name.

The Black Snake Brigade soldier shook his head and replied, "No such person. Please leave.'

Lucas opened his eyes wide in surprise, "What do you mean?"

Right at this moment, Sandra walked out of the villa and asked softly, "Excuse me, are you Lucas Carter?"

Lucas nodded in reply.

Sandra said, "Let him in. He's Adam's friend."

The Black Snake Brigade soldiers finally let Lucas through.

As he followed Sandra into the villa, Lucas could not help studying her. The woman was shy, frail, and spoke weakly.

Is she his type? Adam's taste in women disgusted him.

"Why don't I see him anywhere? Where is he?"

"Adam went to see his wife and kid. He ought to be back soon," Sandra replied softly.

Lucas instantly caught on to this. Does this mean she is his mistress? Is Adam hiding her in the villa?

Sandra was oblivious to Lucas' wild thoughts. After inviting him to take a seat, she served some tea before she went upstairs to inform Adam of his arrival. Adam arrived thirty minutes later.

Lucas looked at Adam intently. His face looked a lot manlier. Also, he was a lot more composed now. Judging from the look in his eyes, he had been through a lot in his life. Even though he looked quite different, he was undoubtedly Adam.

Adam was also scrutinizing Lucas. A few seconds later, he shook his head and said, "I have to say, you look good. You'd undoubtedly fetch a high price selling yourself."

Lucas was beaming at the beginning, but his smile instantly froze when Adam got to the end of his words! He sneered and retorted, "Well, I didn't expect you to become like this either." Adam paused briefly before saying, "I don't understand. What are you driving at?"

Lucas scoffed. He glanced at Sandra as she stood behind Adam and did not bother explaining himself. He felt it was ungentlemanly to gossip about Adam's mistress to her face. Adam did not keep harping on the subject. He said candidly, "I want to rebuild the family. Come back and help me."

Lucas nodded. "Since you had the brains to call me, not all is lost for you."

Adam felt puzzled. Is he trying to tell me something?

Adam shook his head and continued, "Her name is Sandra Hernandez. From now on, you will teach her the ropes. She has all the contacts of our past allies. Can you sort out the information first?" Lucas frowned. "Do you expect me to show her the ropes?"

Adam was at a loss. He asked, "Yes. What's the problem?"

Lucas decided to drop it since Adam was the boss. They had just reunited, so he should not question Adam in front of his mistress. He replied, "Okay. What plans do you have to rebuild the family?"

Just as Adam was about to reply, Lucas continued, "I have already figured out what to do. I was just waiting for you to contact me. I have already created a company, so we just need to find the space and start running it. I was planning to use whatever assets you have left from the family for this. Since you now possess the contact information for our past allies, this makes things a lot easier. We can buy over someone else's company instead. Your family will be the main shareholder and I will be your CFO." He paused and thought about his father the moment he mentioned CFO. "I didn't think I would follow in my father's footsteps." He was a little annoyed, pursing his lips.

Adam sighed and said, "My family owes you..."

"Stop right there!" interrupted Lucas. "I don't want you to get nostalgic for me and start saying mushy things. If you call yourself my friend, just beat up some people for me."

Adam raised his brow and asked, "Who?"

Lucas was at a loss. A second later, he waved his hand and said, "Never mind. It's just a common joke. How could you not know about it?"

Adam went quiet. If you continue showing off, I could tell you my identity as Drake the Dragon and put an end to this once and for all!

"I'll find out who massacred my family, and you'll take care of the company. Oh yes. My older sister is still alive."

Lucas froze for a second before he trembled instinctively. He could remember the days when Maya used to push him around and automatically felt scared.
