Return Of The Prodigy
Return of the Prodigy Chapter 183

Adam asked Sandra as they sat in the car, "Are you going back to Lisle with me or are you staying here? Don't worry. I will take care of you no matter what you choose. I won't ever let anyone bully you again!"

Sandra shook her head gently and said softly, "I'm not sure either."

Adam sighed and said, "In that case, why don't you let me handle it? Let me take care of your living arrangements so that you can focus on recuperation. You can always think about it after you have recovered." Sandra nodded quietly. A few moments later, she asked softly, "Why are you being so nice to me? Is it because of the intel I have?"

She was referring to the contact information she had about the Drake family's past allies.

Adam said in all honesty, "That's not true. I promised your grandfather that I would treat you like my sister from now on and take care of you. If you are afraid that I just want something from you, you don't have to give me the intel. I won't ever ask for the contact information." Sandra paused for a couple of seconds as she looked at Adam intently.

Sandra was observing the man. Her grandfather kept talking about Adam all these years. She knew her grandfather would give anything to find Adam. She wanted to know whether it was worth it!

After studying the man for over ten seconds, Sandra lowered her head and said softly, "Nolan Chavez. His father was the head of our martial arts academy, Antonio Chavez. Nolan came over to Alameda County four years ago and joined a local martial arts center... "Lucas Carter. His father is Albert Carter, and he used to be our CFO. Four years ago, Lucas went to Alameda County...

"Jonas Watson used to be in charge of the pharmaceutical division in our family business...

Adam paused briefly and felt puzzled. Moments later, he finally realized Sandra was dictating the intel she had memorized previously. These people used to be family allies. Some of these people sounded familiar to him, but there were a number of unknown names. When the family was massacred, he was just a youth and did not dabble in the family business. In any case, he was not interested in running the business, so he hardly paid any attention. He had heard some names in the passing, or if they often visited the residence to report to the family elders.

Naturally, he did not recognize these names!

"Sandra, you can stop dictating. I can't remember them anyway. I will get you a phone so that you can get in touch with them. From now on, you will handle the information and contact them on my behalf!"

Sandra was stunned. She asked softly, "Did you deliberately offer me the job? Are you doing it to put my heart at ease?"

Adam laughed and said, "You're overthinking. I am just plain lazy. Oh yes. It sounds like a lot of them are in Alameda County. I wonder what they are doing here."

Sandra pondered for a few seconds before she nodded.

Adam frowned and said, "Was it a coincidence?"

Moments later, he wiped the thought from his mind.

No matter the reason, their current location would prove advantageous to him. He could use them to help Hartley Group while he was rebuilding the Drakes.

He could use his allies to take out the Camdens now and see how it goes.

When they got back to Lisle, Adam personally took Sandra to a villa owned by the Black Snake Brigade.

"From now on, you will recuperate on this property. My men will protect you."

Sandra nodded before asking softly, "When should I contact the family allies?"

Adam smiled and said, "You can start anytime. Just remember. You will be seeing them and not me."

Sandra looked at Adam in bewilderment.

Adam sighed and said, "I told you. You will be in charge of them from now on. Moreover, my true identity is very sensitive, and now is not the right time to meet them." Sandra blushed as she said awkwardly, "I don't know what to do or how to handle them."

She is right.

Adam kept worrying about giving Sandra a sense of security, but he had overlooked the fact that she had been in captivity for years.

Sandra had developed a timid personality and felt scared just talking to strangers. If he suddenly wanted her to manage people, it would be very hard on her.

Adam contemplated for a couple of seconds before coming up with an idea. "Call Lucas and tell him to see me in Lisle. We will go see him tonight. In the future, you will learn the ropes from him."

Sandra froze nervously before she nodded in agreement. She retrieved her phone to call Lucas.

A few seconds later, the call connected. A man with a cheerful and magnetic voice spoke in a deep tone, "Hi, this is Lucas."

Sandra parted her lips wanting to speak, but she was incapable of saying a word. She looked at Adam anxiously.

Adam sighed inwardly. Sure enough, the incident had affected Sandra's personality. He probably had to find her a psychologist to help.

"Give it to me." Adam took the phone and said deeply, "Black Monkey, state the code."

The man was undoubtedly surprised to receive the call. After a few seconds, he finally asked in astonishment, "Is that you, Rabbit?"

Adam instantly felt annoyed by the greeting.

Lucas was his childhood friend, and they were best pals. His father, Albert, was from Adam's maternal family. He was a highly intelligent and astute businessman. He used to be known as one of the top ten entrepreneurs in the country. Albert was a trusted family aide. He worked as the CFO and took care of all the Drakes' businesses.

Owing to the nature of his work, he spent most of his time abroad and hardly had any time for his son. Lucas spent most of his time living in the Drake residence. He even attended the same school as Adam, but he was a few years Adam's senior. Lucas was always precocious and mischievous. Also, he had a very fair complexion. Since Adam always practiced martial arts, his skin was usually slightly darker. Adam thought it would be funny to nickname him, Black Monkey. Lucas would get back at him by calling him, Stupid Rabbit.

When the family was massacred, Lucas happened to be studying abroad, so he escaped unscathed. During this time, Albert was busy transferring the family assets, so he inadvertently got caught. Adam did not know what became of Albert. Even though Adam was annoyed by the nickname, he felt equally nostalgic. He put on a nonchalant voice and said, "State the code."

Lucas gritted his teeth and said angrily, "Monkey calling for backup!"

Adam laughed out loud with great satisfaction and said, "Rabbit is on the way!"

Despite the brief exchange over the phone, lots of memories flooded Adam's mind, so he could not help smiling.

Adam did not like practicing martial arts. Lucas was more extreme and absolutely refused to do it. He felt it was uncivilized to fight, so he always used his brains to get what he wanted. He felt it was far more impressive to make someone lose without lifting a finger. Whenever Lucas got into a fight at school, Adam had to help him. So, Adam came up with the code words thinking it was funny. "You uncivilized man! Where are you? I will come over immediately," Lucas said anxiously.

Adam replied, "I'm in Lisle. Call me when you get here."

"Wait for me."

Before Lucas was able to finish his conversation, a woman could be heard scolding him from behind. "Lucas, what do you think you're doing? Don't you know that everyone is waiting for you in the conference room? I know that the boss' daughter has the hots for you, but it doesn't mean you can get away with this bullshit! Please stay professional at work. Naturally, if you're a professional gigolo, you can live off women all you like. I would much rather see you quit your day job and make yourself scarce." Adam raised his brow feeling tickled. "Did you run into some kind of problem? Do you need my help?"

Lucas laughed in contempt before he said nonchalantly, "It's just an angry old woman. She got upset after I rejected her. I have to go. Wait for me."
