Chapter 69

Gabi’s POV

Alpha Monty is going to be a problem. As II know he had something in his hand when he got here, but he put it in his pocket. After Tanner calmed down and got back on the couch to sleep, I mindlinked Heath to tell him what happened and what was said.

I got really creeped out at what Alpha Monty implied and I am glad I just grabbed an apple to eat for dinner because if it was anything heavier, I would have probably thrown up. I see where Derek got ALL of his bad traits from with that conversation.

I never really got around Alpha Monty growing up, my parents always shielded me, so I really owed them a lot, because there is something off about him and now that I know what he is capable of, I do not trust him at all.

He is a killer and a kidnapper, and even if he didn’t take me himself, he sent his mate to take me, and he is just as bad, or worse than she was. Heath told me that he and Alpha Black would be here early in the morning at 5 am, because he would not allow Alpha Monty to Alpha command Justin to leave the room for him to do Goddess knows what to Liz.

I heard her heart rate spike when he spoke, and she was scared. What Alpha Monty didn’t know is that I wasn’t scared of him, he was really close to getting shot a little while ago, I had already flipped open my snap on my holster and was about to knock the safety off when he backed down.

Tanner was furious as Alpha Monty was inappropriate with what he said, I honestly don’t think that Alpha Monty had seen Tanner on the couch and even Derek appeared to be really upset by what his dad had said to me.

I will be glad to see the show when Liz leaves with Alpha Black and Heath tomorrow super early. Heath also said that two members of the werewolf council were coming to Red River with them, as they were picking up Alpha Monty in the morning as well. That I cannot miss.

He will be going to stay in the cells at the Ever Green pack until Luna Liz is well enough to testify against him. I was really glad that I was going to be present for this, and would have a front-row seat because whatever is going to happen to him, he earned every bit of it.

Heath told me to get some sleep when it was my turn and that he would mindlink me when they get here in the morning.

I saw Derek get excited when he said he felt his mom move her hand, but I didn’t feel her move hope whatever it was that Alpha Monty had given her can be corrected in her system. I don’t want her to be coma-like this for long, it was scary seeing her lying there and nothing can be done about it. I know she will be taken care of at Ever Green.

I also know if Alpha Monty did this to her, that he is going to be sorry, really sorry, as Alpha Black was not known for being kind and cuddly. I was a little scared to meet him, so I had held off each time Von asked if I wanted to go to visit her parent’s pack, the Black Night pack.

I actually kind of wished I had gone at least once, but I was scared of everything that I had heard about Alpha Black while I was here at Red River. Tanner was going to take the watch over at 130 am for me to get some sleep and I watched the door and got up and watched what the nurses were doing with each visit, I know I made them nervous, but I loved Luna Liz, and I will not allow anyone to hurt her on my watch.

She is the reason that I had been saved from Jack, got me out of Red River, and clear of Derek’s rejection too, all because of her. I have new, amazing parents now, because of her. I have Tanner, because of her, I will not let anything happen to her when she was so loving and thoughtful to me.

The time dragged on slowly, I had time to think of what I was going to be teaching tomorrow, and I picked up my schedule Alan sent and saw that he had put Piper, Heather, and Jack in his group to be trained. I am quite sure Jack will be getting his as*s kicked, I see Story was in my group and other Omegas and I was glad to see that they did incorporate them into the training.

Tanner k!ssed me on the head when he woke up to trade out with me. I leaned my face up to him when I got out of the chair and gave him a proper k!ss before I went to use the restroom, brushed my teeth, and went to lay down until 5 am.

I got woken up at 455 by Heath mindlinking me and telling me that they were pulling up to the hospital now and to expect Derek and Alpha Monty soon, as the gate guards were upset at the number of warriors at their gates.

Alpha Black told them it was because of the rogues attacking for them to have added protection, as his daughter had been attacked by them and he wanted the rogues to pay. I was hoping that the werewolf council members were here as well because I was just petty enough to want to see the cuffs put on him for having me taken as a toddler.

That was actually going to be some closure for me. Who knows how I would have turned out, Stone isn’t bad, but Taylor is a complete b***h.

I have been told that they overdid it with her because they all thought I was gone. Again, how did giving her extra stuff help me in any possible way? My life wasn’t better for it, maybe if they had looked, I don’t know, asked around to try to find me, I was literally less than 200 miles away from their pack this whole time.

If it had been my child, I would have moved heaven and earth to try to find them.

Heath entered the room a few minutes later with Alpha Black behind him. Alpha Black was still an attractive man who didn’t look like he could possibly have daughters in their mid-forties. He looked about 55 years old tops, and he stood straight and tall as his eyes stopped on his daughter lying in the bed in front of him.

We let him have his moment with her, and I saw the tears in his eyes when he looked up at me and smiled. Alpha Black has Von’s blue eyes and blonde hair. He is about 6’3″ tall with a broad chest and is still extremely fit for his age.

He still runs his pack, the Black Night pack, with a firm hand, and his investments and his companies make several million each year. His pack is between Tanner’s and Heath’s and since he didn’t have a son, he was eventually going to hand it over to his daughters when he wanted to retire.

“Is this my new granddaughter that I have heard so much about, Heath?” Alpha Black asks Heath, “It is, she and her mate Tanner relieved Justin to watch over Liz for the night.

Gabi said that Monty showed up here last night and that she knew he had something in his hand, but he put it in his pocket and ended up leaving the room after she let him know that she was here for the night.

I am assuming that Monty will plan to come this morning, and probably send Justin to get breakfast, to dose Liz again, would be my bet. We will get her to Ever Green as quickly as we can.

The Werewolf council is supposed to be here soon. We will take care of all of this at the same time” Heath told Alpha Black and I stepped up to him to introduce myself.

“It is nice to meet you, sir, my name is Gabrielle Emerson, and it is a pleasure to meet you,” I told Alpha Black.

“You are family, my dear, we hug family” Alpha Black told me and pulled me into a strong hug.

“Thank you for taking care of my daughter for us your being here to protect her, meant a lot to me and Vera. She wanted to come to get to meet you, but someone needed to stay with Von. Her hearing the pain and terror in Liz’s voice, well she won’t be doing well until she can see her sister” Alpha Black told me.

“It was my pleasure to do it, Luna Liz rescued me from this pack, and my life would be totally different if she hadn’t taken me to Ever Green” I told Alpha Black.

“Yes, I knew you wanted to come, but Liz told us how badly Monty talks about us here, and we knew you were scared to death to come to our pack and visit. We didn’t want to push it until you were more comfortable with coming to see us” Alpha Black told me.

I blushed and nodded my head, “Yes sir, I have heard things, but now I know Alpha Month is not a good person and a liar. I hope to get to spend some time with you when we return to Ever Green” I told Alpha Black.

“Yes, that reminds me. Jason, come in here” Alpha Black calls out and the door opens with another person walking into the room. This guy was big, like “I spend all my free time in the gym” big. He was at least 6’4″ tall and had one of the broadest ch3st’s that I have ever seen.

He seemed light on his feet so he probably did martial arts too, and I bet seeing him and Alan spar together would be a show we could sell tickets to. He had brown hair, cut short in a military-type haircut, and grey eyes. He was attractive, but I have Tanner and to me, he is the most gorgeous man on the face of the earth.

“Alpha Black,” Jason said to him and waited for instructions.

“Jason, you will be taking Liz with you back to Ever Green for her to be cared for. I want you in the back of the Ambulance with Liz, and I want you to have three of the SUVs with you one in front and two in back.

If by any case, you encounter an issue, or someone goes to pull you over we will shoot first and sort it out later. You know what, you shouldn’t have any problems as I am about to contact a friend at the Governor’s office and have two state troopers who will also be escorting you there, just in case.

Please excuse me, I need to make a call” Alpha Black said and exited the room with Jason following behind.

Alpha Black was gone for about 10 minutes and when he came back Jason was no longer with him. Justin had texted me that he was on the way, that due to the large number attending training and apparently one of the Omegas for breakfast having been taken off the roster by Alpha Monty, everything was backed up in the kitchen as far as the food being prepared.

Cranky people, no food, and no coffee was causing an issue and I told him that it was OK, I would be here until he got here, plus I wanted to see what happened when Derek and Alpha Monty showed up. I didn’t have to wait too much longer.
