Chapter 70

Gabi’s POV

The door opens and I watch Alpha Monty walk into the room, followed by Alpha Black. You could tell that Alpha Monty was scared of Alpha Black and then the door opened again, and Derek slipped into the room and walked over to check on his mom.

Monty looks absolutely pissed and his chest is rising and falling quickly as he tries to calm himself down before he starts a war. I am so glad that Derek took after his mom, at least in his looks, because I can’t stand to even look at Monty, and with Derek standing by his grandfather I could see the resemblance between them.

“Monty, as you know my daughter was attacked, I will not let them come in to finish her off. Your people are not trained and let’s face it, you need my help, whether you want it or not. Your pack is not safe, and my daughter was almost killed because of it.

The Werewolf Council will let us know why they are here when they get here, but I was asking them for permission to wage war on the rogue group the next time they come on your packlands” Alpha Black calmly said to Alpha Monty.

I wonder if Alpha Monty realizes that you don’t need the Werewolf Council to get permission to wage war against rogues. That is something that I learned in training to join the group. I glanced over at Heath, and he gave an almost imperceptible shake of his head, but he kept eye contact, so I knew he was sending me a message to stay quiet.

“OK, that is fine, Wells, I just didn’t know why you rolled up with so many warriors. We have the training team here now, and training starts today, so we should be doing well in the next two to three weeks” Alpha Monty said to the group. We all stand there for a little while and Alpha Monty said, “You can just run along now Gabi, and go to get breakfast before training”.

“I am good, thank you. They are behind with breakfast and with everyone trying to grab something before training it is a cluster. They don’t have anything ready to eat as yet, and I already told Justin that I would stay until he got out here, so I will just wait on him” I told him. Man, I wish those Elders would just get here, I want to see this before he pulls his rank and tries to make me leave.

“Gabi is fine staying here with us and was a big help to us volunteering to watch my daughter until we could get here. It is only 514, and she still has 45 minutes to get out there to start training. I look forward to watching her, as I have heard how well she learned her craft.

I have to say that Heath here is one of the best sparring, and weapons, trainers that I have ever seen, and if he said that she is good, well let’s just say that I look forward to watching her try to whip your people into shape” Alpha Black said to me, and I blushed at the compliment. I hope I live up to his estimations.

I see exactly when Alpha Black’s eyes lite onto Derek and I know he is going to say something about nodded his head and then excused himself from the room again. I guess Jason had mindlinked him minute later we heard yelling in the hallway.

“What the hell Wells? Why would you show up with a literal army here on MY packlands? Why did you feel like you needed to do that? We have everything under control. Liz will be just fine she just needs to rest and get treated for her injuries.

Now I hear that the Werewolf council is at the gate? Why are they here?” I could tell Alpha Monty was about 50 feet away from the door when he started up with his yelling and questions. I hope Alpha Black lets him in the room so we can all see the show, instead of just hearing Derek rejecting me.

I reach out to grab Tanner’s hand as Alpha Black opens his mouth to speak to Derek,” What were you thinking son? You had a beautiful Goddess-given mate, and you reject her? Why?

The Goddess gives us the person that she created for us. There would have been no one better suited to be your mate and yet she is with Tanner here now. Tanner, I do not have a problem with you, this is just me asking what made him do that, as it was a truly stupid act, and one that he will be paying for, for the rest of his life” Alpha Black said and the whole room was silent waiting on Derek to answer.

“I got some bad advice grand-dad. I was told a chosen mate was a great idea, and we also saw an opportunity to increase our packlands by double, so I decided to do it. I never realized how much it was going to hurt me, or Gabi.

Or that she would feel me betraying her. I am so sorry, Gabi. I didn’t realize that you would be in so much pain over what I did. I made a really bad decision, and I am truly sorry for even making it” Derek said to me, and I felt like he meant it. I nod at him in acceptance of his apology, but it is done, finished, and it is just Tanner and me from now on.

A knock sounded on the door and two men that I didn’t know came into the room. They were both older and you felt the power radiating off of them when they came into the room.

You didn’t have to announce that they were from the Werewolf Council, it was clear that they were. One had brown hair cut short with grey at his temples and piercing blue eyes, they seemed to stare right through you. The taller man had long grey hair, pulled back in a bun on the back of his head.

He has pale grey eyes and he also seemed to be able to see inside you, to your soul. The room was crowded now so Tanner stepped back to the chair and sat down and then tugged me onto his lap for us to watch the show.

The taller one spoke and as he glanced around the room, I am Jeremiah Folkes, second in command for the Werewolf Council and we had gotten a report in that we are following up on now. This is the fifth in command, Alaric Rhodes, and we will be asking a few questions while we are here today.

We were notified that Luna Liz was injured yesterday in a rogue attack. We will need to speak to whoever found her. We will also need to know who verified the area, as we were told some disturbing information and we need for it to be clarified” Council Member Folkes said to the group.

“My Beta Justin was the one who found mom in her office. She had been attacked and he took her to the hospital. I checked the area out after him and I agreed with his finding, but I will link him and get him to come out here to tell you himself” Derek told them and then nodded that was acceptable.

I mindlinked Alan and told him what was happening and that I might be late. Alan linked me back and said that due to the problem with the kitchen the training was going to start at 630, and not 6, and to take my time. That he would grab me an apple and Tanner a sausage biscuit and a drink and meet us on the training field.

Justin arrive 5 minutes later with a wrapped biscuit and a drink, and he put them down on the table next to Luna Liz’s bed. Justin looked nervous and I didn’t blame him, he didn’t know what was going on right now. Council Member Folkes started over and told Justin who he was and for Justin to answer his questions honestly. Justin nodded and the questioning started.

“Were you the one to find Luna Liz in the packhouse?” Council Member Folkes asked.

“Yes, I heard her screaming and I ran to find her, she was in her office,” Justin said. “Did you see anyone else there?” Council Member Folkes asked.

“No, I saw Luna Liz lying on the floor, and I ran to her, she was bleeding very badly, and I tore my shirt to try to slow down the bleeding for her and ran with her to the hospital,” Justin said.

“When you arrived at her office, did you smell that a rogue had been present?” Council Member Folkes asked. I see Alpha Monty stiffen and I think he is figuring out where this is going to go.

“No, I had been inside the packhouse when the attack happened, and they were outside. They did kill several, but they did not breach the packhouse. I did not smell any rogues scent in our packhouse” Justin told them.

“You probably just missed it, as you were scared and worried over Liz being hurt. I would not punish you for missing it, it could have happened to anyone” Alpha Monty said, and everyone turned to look at him. Alpha Month was flushed, and his color was high. He seemed anxious and stressed right now.

“That is what I thought to dad, but I checked moms office at the packhouse, no rogues entered the pack house when the attack happened. I had thought the same thing, as well. I went to check while Justin took mom to the hospital. No rogue has been in the packhouse” Derek advised, and all eyes went to him.

“So, you can verify that the packhouse had not been breached, when your mom was attacked, young Alpha?” Council Member Folkes asked.

“Yes, I will swear to it, I don’t know who actually attacked mom, but it was not a member of the rogue group. I felt her move her hand last night and I hope she gets strong enough to tell you who did this to her. I will kill them myself” Derek tells the group.

“Well, she did son, she mindlinked her sister to tell her who had attacked her” Heath tells Derek and the look of surprise on his face was immediate. He didn’t know who had attacked his mom and he wanted to know. I believed him when he said that he would kill whoever did it.

“Well, what are you waiting for, who did it? I demand justice for my mother and this pack. I hope you are all here to make sure that they get punished” Derek calls out and you can tell that he is very upset that someone in his pack would hurt his beloved mother.

“Monty, do you want to tell your son, or do you want me to?” Alpha Black said, and Derek turns to look at his father. Monty shoves Council Member Folkes out of the way and opens the door to run out of the room, only to be greeted with the sight of Jason standing there in the doorway with his arms folded across his chest, and three warriors from Alpha Blacks pack standing behind him.

“You b!tch, everything went to st because of you. I should have just killed you when I found out exactly who you were when you turned 10, just to get rid of you, instead of just telling Derek to not even play with you again.

I wish Jack had gotten to you before Liz stopped him, you would have deserved everything that he did to you” Alpha Monty yells out and heads for me.
