Chapter 65

Tanner’s POV

Seeing Taylor cry out when I showed her my mark, was so worth it. She actually seemed like she was in pain, but she wasn’t, she was just angry that she had been beaten at her own game.

Gabi is wanting to put a fist through her face, and I pray to the Goddess that I am there when those two come to a head. Taylor doesn’t like to train, it makes her sweat, so she refuses to do it. I don’t even think she knows how to fight. I felt really bad for Caden though.

He usually avoids where Taylor is, and now I knew why. He was her mate, and since he knew it that meant he felt it, every single time she cheated on him. I knew when he asked her, why he asked her that question.

I cannot believe how terrible a person you must be to break your mate’s heart like that. I am so glad that Gabi had Eden come with us in the group because that could not have worked out better, and they may never have found each other otherwise.

The best part is that Alpha Heath didn’t have a Gamma, he actually needed one, and when Gabi reached out through mindlink to tell him what had happened, he was interested in Caden. Gabi didn’t know him, but I did. He has had the position since he turned 18, he is a strong fighter and an excellent strategist.

He will do well for Heath, and he will do well for Eden too, I could tell he was nervous when she said she wanted to talk to him first, with having had Taylor as a mate, I get why too. He really drew a bad mate there, and I could see where he was worrying.

I knew why Eden didn’t want anyone to overhear what she was saying, but Caden was totally OK with her having a child. He heard what she said about what happened to her, and the result’s being baby Jackson.

Caden totally understood how strong the mate pull really was. It had kept him from rejecting Taylor all these years, so he knew that Jack had deliberately used and then thrown her away.

They will be very happy together and I hope that Taylor enjoys getting the same feeling that she has caused countless others by sleeping with their mates.

Her punishment will be perfect for her, she has deserved it. I stayed in the car at the beginning of the show, as Gabi had asked us to stay put. She knew Heather and Jack would be waiting for her to show up, and she knew that Jack would be making a beeline for her, and she wanted him to come to her.

She was right, he never even noticed the other girl with Gabi until she started to speak and the look on his face was priceless.

I had been mindlinking with my mom on the way here, as she was getting me up to speed about what I asked her to look into. Mom told me that they went the same day (Friday) and picked up Morgan, Taylor’s little dark witch friend.

Morgan was making her the potion to avoid being compelled to tell the truth and she has been in the cells at B***d Rose, for the last 2 days. Mom was the one who was actually texting with Taylor, and mom’s witch friend, Elina Windsong. Mom has known her whole life, and trusts with her life, had been the one to meet Taylor and make her the new potions.

All of the potions had been changed up, instead of Taylor being able to lie to anyone, even under Alpha command she will be forced to tell the truth to whoever asked her a question, they do not have to be an Alpha even.

That spell was strong too because it is supposed to last over 24 hours, they had to make it strong as Taylor didn’t want to tell the truth, even under Alpha command.

The new spell is not a love potion, it is nothing actually. It is apple juice, and I won’t have to worry about what Taylor will be doing while she is here anymore. With the rogue attacks, we have shut down the gate, now that Eden and Caden left.

Alan told me that the only deliveries allowed in for the next few weeks are food and paper products. That was it. So, the gates will be locked down unless approved deliveries are coming.

The only exception is that tomorrow Alpha Heath will be coming in with an ambulance to take Luna Liz out of this pack and to his own pack for her to heal.

They are right to worry, Liz told them that Monty attacked her before she passed out. She might not like him, but she is an honest woman, and she would not have accused him of doing that if it wasn’t true.

So Alpha Heath locked the gate down, he had Derek Alpha command the guards that no one is allowed to leave, and only the approved deliveries were to come in.

Monty is stuck here with the rest of us, and I know he will want to leave ASAP because he cannot afford to be here when Luna Liz wakes up and tells the werewolf council who attacked her. They were coming at the end of the week anyway to get him, so I guess he was just trying to keep her from outing him.

As mad as Alpha Heath is, Alpha Monty needs to worry about Alpha Wells Black. He is Liz and Von’s father and he has a huge pack, with over a thousand warriors.

He has a very wealthy pack, and he doesn’t play, Monty is scared to death of him, and anyone with a brain would stay on his good side. Alpha Heath told me that both Wells and Vera Black were going to be there

by the morning, as he isn’t just coming in alone.

He is bringing half his warriors with him and his wife. Then in the morning Alpha Wells, Alpha Heath, and the 500 warriors Alpha Black was bringing with him would be here first thing tomorrow to get Luna Liz.

They will also be taking Alpha Monty to Ever Green to be put in the cells to wait on the Werewolf council, and Luna Liz to get better. That is what was taking up the most time was to be able to get the

warriors physically here.

Gabi and I grab our stuff and get shown to our room, it is nice, with a king bed and I am glad that I get to stay with Gabi while we are here. I would have been worried for her the whole time if I couldn’t be here with her. I hear a knock on the door and go to answer it and a woman is standing there, I don’t know who she is, but she asked for Gabi. I called Gabi to the door, and she seems surprised, but she invited her into the room.

“I just wanted to say that I was sorry, Gabi. I knew you were there, in the training area because and although I knew it hurt you, I wanted you to know who you were dealing with in Jack. He was tricking you and I wanted to tell you, but I was scared to tell you as he would be angry if he thought I had told you.

He was mad already at your breaking up with him, but he could tell I was honest when he confronted me. So, I got him to spill the beans in the training room, so you could find out, and get away from him. I knew you were getting feeling for him, and I didn’t want you to make any mistakes. He is not a nice guy, and I was worried about you” the girl told Gabi.

“It is OK Story, I figure you knew as it seemed like you wanted to say something to me several times, but you changed your mind each time. I figured you knew I was there by how you led his questions, so I would know what he had done.

I appreciate you telling me this, I did wonder why you had him talking in there, instead of just leaving, guess now I know” Gabi told her and stood up for her to leave.

“You are a good person Gabi, and you had so much wrong done to you, but your parents were truly wonderful people, and they did a good job raising you. Luna Liz had them be buried in the cemetery, near that big Valley Oak tree close to the river” she told Gabi.

I see tears in Gabi’s eyes, and she said, “Thank you so much, Story. I will be going to see them while I am here. I appreciate you coming to tell me where they are, Liz can’t, and I really just don’t want to speak to Derek right now”.

Gabi needs comfort and I wrap my arms around her and pull Gabi into a tight hug. I know how hard coming back here was for her, so many bad memories.

If she wants me to, I can have her parents moved onto my pack lands, so she can see them and visit with them whenever she wants to. I will offer it to her later, I can see she is a little overwhelmed right now. I nod at the girl, and she gives Gabi a small smile and goes to the door. I close it after her and look at Gabi.

“Are you OK baby?” I asked her.

“I will be. Are you sure you want to stay with me at the hospital? You would probably be more comfortable here in our room” Gabi told me, and I shook my head at her.

“No, I am most comfortable with you baby. So, wherever you are, I want to be too, plus it is only one night, and we both know that Derek is going to show up.

He was sad at first that you dodged him, he will remember that you will be relieving Justin for him to eat and sleep tonight, until five in the morning. I guarantee you he will show up in that time frame” I told her and then she shakes her head.

“He has a chosen mate, and she will be with him from now on. The Ceremony is next Saturday. In less than a week, they will be together in the sight of the pack, and the Goddess. He made his choice, he picked wrong, he has to live with that now, and I am OK with it.

I got the better end of the deal because of it” Gabi told me, and my grin is so wide it hurts me. I come in and hug her tightly and take a deep sniff of her hair.

We grab a blanket for us as we will take turns sleeping on the couch in Luna Liz’s hospital room, to make sure no one hurts her on our watch. We will take a nap after the first training tomorrow, and we head down to the dining room to grab a sandwich or something as we need to go relieve Justin at the hospital in an hour.

We are in line getting our food when we heard, “What the hell are you doing in here?” from behind us and we turn to look at Piper standing there with Heather behind her on one side, and Taylor on the other and they both have big grins on their faces.

Piper slaps the tray out of Gabi’s hand and said, “You can go get the leftovers when the meal is done, Omega. You are nothing here at Red River or the River Bed packs”.

Gabi said nothing back to her, she doesn’t have to as I had put my own tray down, behind me, and I can tell by the now silence in the room that the guys are coming in behind us.

We stand like a wall behind Gabi, and the three girls who had been smirking at Gabi, are now looking up in fear at 5 angry men.
