Rejected, but not Broken
Chapter 62

Gabi’s POV

I am so glad that Tanner and I are fully marked and mated. I feel so close to him, I love him so much, I never thought that it would feel this strong. I mean I felt a strong pull toward Derek, for about a minute, until he rejected me, and made me pass out from the pain of it.

I guess I will never know what it would have felt like if Derek and I were mated, as he crushed me under his heel from the start. It was already doomed, to begin with, as he is a year older than me and already knew that we were mates.

He didn’t try to protect me from the abuse he knew that I was facing from his girlfriend at the time, or try to love me.

I shake the thought from my head. I will not live in the past, it was done when he rejected me. I would not take him back no matter what. His sleeping with Piper after he knew we were mates and that I would be in pain from it, it is well known through every wolf of mating age.

Derek was wrong for what he had done to me, but I feel like the Goddess has made up for it with Tanner. I smile up at him as we head to go get lunch in the dining room, he has my hand in his, and he is even more possessive now of me than he even was with us just being marked.

I see every unmated man we pass, stepping back with the power he is emitting over me. I see Heath and Von sitting at our usual table, and they smile over at us in welcome. We go grab our plates and head to grab our drinks and go to the table.

“I hope you two are well-rested” Heath teases us. Von slaps his arm, and said, “Didn’t I tell you to leave them alone Heath, you did the same thing with me if memory serves”.

Heath leans over and k!sses her, and then grins back at us, “Yes, I remember. I think this young Alpha even has me beat with the power he is wasting over making sure all the unmated men know that she is taken. Gabi is your mate son she will never stray from you.

You can calm down with the warnings you are sending out here, save some for when we go for the training. The Luna ceremony will be next Saturday, and I think that is when they will attack, actually, right before the ceremony, or the day before the ceremony.

There is a trigger why the rogues are attacking those two packs, and I think that may be it, the Luna ceremony. After we have them defeated, they will let us know why they were attacking”.

“I am not looking forward to going there, but I am looking forward to getting this thing with Derek done, and then getting Taylor handled. I will be glad to get rid of them both” Tanner told Heath, and Von and I nod in agreement with him.

I will be so glad to get this over with myself, I really don’t look forward to going to Red River, and River Bed to train either. But I am OK with helping people to learn how to defend themselves. There is no telling what the other Omegas have had to put up with in Red River for the past 5 months.

We finish our lunch and go to head upstairs, and I see Dana standing there with Brock. Dana gives me a look, up and down, and then she tells Tanner, “We will be needing to go home soon Tanner, we are still working on the trespasser, and your testing is over, we can go home now”.

“First of all, I am not ready to go, I will be staying here another couple of hours. You forget yourself, Dana, I am the Alpha, not you.

You are not in charge of me and cannot make me leave at your whim. You kept me from being able to communicate with Gabi on the way here, and I am enjoying spending time with her, so you can wait another couple of hours before we need to leave” Tanner tells Dana and I see her eyes narrow.

She is mad, but at least she is smart enough to keep her mouth shut about her displeasure. I know that she was Alpha commanded to not remember that she had already told Tanner, and Heath, the plan, so she still wants to get him back to B***d Rose, to give him the vial.

What she doesn’t realize is when she goes back, she will be put in the cells for them to decide what to do with her, and when, as this plays out. Plus, her vial has already been taken from her.

Von and Heath start heading upstairs, and Von puts her hand out to the handrail and falls to the floor. Heath is immediately next to her and checking her for injuries as she cries out in pain.

“No, Heath, I am OK. Liz just linked me. She has been attacked inside the packhouse, and she is badly hurt. Rogues have attacked Red River and River Bed. They have killed about 60 people total, and Justin is taking her to the hospital now, she passed out before she could say anything else” Von tells us and looks up in shock from the floor.

“Gabi, you, and Tanner go get ready. I am linking the rest of the team now we will leave at the top of the hour” Heath tells us and helps Von up the stairs.

“Brock, you, and Dana can get packed and go ahead and take my SUV vehicle back to the B***d Rose pack. I will be going with the team to Red River to help them train the two packs being attacked” Tanner said, and handed him the keys.

“No, Tanner, you need to come back with us. You are not really on their team, and if they were any good at their jobs, they wouldn’t even need you on it anyway” Dana tells Tanner and me, and I am about to come unglued.

Tanner steps in front of me and bends down to Dana with fury in his eyes. “Again, Dana, you are not the boss of me. I do not do what you want me to do, you do what I want you to do. Return to B***d Rose and do what you are instructed to do by my father, he is acting Alpha right now. I am a full member of the team, and they don’t need me.

I NEED to go with my mate and help keep her safe, and I will train others as I do that” Tanner tells her, and she turns to run up the stairs and go pack with Brock.

I check my watch and we will be leaving in 40 minutes. I link Eden and tell her to get ready because we are about to roll out. I already had my ammo stocked, bagged, and ready to go, and I will go out to our training room to load it. I go and pack up my training gear, and my personal weapons from my room.

Tanner packs his duffle bag, and we can get our clothes washed at Red River. I will call Justin from the car I am worried sick about Luna Liz. I want to know how she is, and I am so glad that Justin is taking care of her. I put my bag down in the hallway outside of my room and Tanner does as well and I head over to Heath and Von’s room.

Heath answered the door and lets me in to see Von, who is laying on the bed. Tanner stays by the door, and I go to hug Von. “I will stay with her when I am not training, and I will link you with updates. If I see anything I think is suspicious while I am there, I will let you know. It is going to be OK” I tell Von.

“Gabi, I do not think it was the rogues, I think it was Monty,” Von tells me, and my eyes widen. That was a really bold attempt on Luna Liz if it was. He must be trying to get rid of her, so I guess he found out that she had gone to the werewolf council about all of his charges against him.

I swear I will take him out myself if he did. This makes it even more serious as we need to get there like right now to make sure that he doesn’t finish the job. I looked at Heath and he nodded at me as if he knew what I was thinking, and he walked me to the door.

“I am going to stay here with Von, her mom and dad are coming tomorrow and as soon as they get here, I will be coming your way. Please stay with Liz, if Von is right, he will try again, he cannot leave a loose end to tell the werewolf council he tried to murder his own Luna.

He will have to try to finish her off. Then he will be able to blame it on the rogues” Heath k!sses my head and gives me a hug. He stepped up to Tanner and speaks into his ear for a moment, but I couldn’t hear what he had said. We grab our duffle bags and head down the stairs to go to the training area to load up.

I grab both of my ammo bags that I had already loaded up. I had enough rounds myself in my two cases to take out three thousand people, just myself, as I have 30 boxes in each of my bags. I don’t know how many people this rogue has with him, and I would rather not run out. I would rather have them, and not need them. Then need the bullets, and not have them.

Sometimes you can’t take them out with the first shot, especially if they are running, so needed a large number of bullets. These two bags are pretty heavy too, and I put mine into the second SUV, as Hudson put his in the first one, as he got here first.

Eden pulls up and I get into her car, Tanner looks at me and I nod at him to stay with the SUV’s. I would like his being there to be a surprise, and I link him that too. I remind him that Eden needs to accept Jack’s rejection and that with me in the car, they have to let her onto the packlands.

With her being with me, it is assured that he will show up, and I need him to do that so she can reject him. He may not show up if the guys are all there with us. I put my vest with my 6 loaded magazines in it and two boxes of 9mm cartridges into the back seat and get in with her.

I put my Kamas, and my Sai’s in the back of the SUV next to my duffle bag. I have my thigh holster strapped on and I am ready to go.

Eden looks nervous, but I said to her, “Your suffering is almost to an end. Jack never deserved someone as great as you Eden, and he certainly doesn’t deserve Jackson. This is the best thing that you can do for yourself and the baby. I guarantee it”.

Eden smiles back at me and lets the breath that she was holding go. She said, “I know that you are right, but I never wanted to see that as*sh0le again for what he did to me.

He lied to me from the start, gave me the wrong name when we met, and he knew I was his mate and used me in the worst way.

The only reason I knew his name was because he used it in the rejection. I hate him and I would love to punch him, but I will just reject him, and then come back to the pack. I will be glad that this is over with today”.
