Rejected, but not Broken -
Chapter 109
Tanner’s POV
My heart caught in my throat when I saw Trina hand the gun off to Dana. I cannot believe that she would do something like that and yet we all saw it, and I thank the Goddess that Heath never took his eyes off of Dana.
He knew that she couldn’t be trusted and thankfully Dana stopped to pistol whip the doctor or she might have killed Gabi The fight was already called in Gabi’s favor, and we were all celebrating Alan finding his mate when I saw the pass off I am disgusted with the behavior of my pack members.
I will be telling them about it too when suddenly my beautiful mate raised her voice and told them herself. She had put up with too much, as the Luna I had made announcements, but I should have just killed Dana, instead of letting her live in the cells.
I didn’t because I felt guilty as she watched over her little sister, Inna, as their parents were killed in a rogue attack about 6 years ago Dana had been raising her since she was 16 years old, and Inna was 12. I stood up and after the cheers went down.
I said “I agree with what Gabi said, she put up with too much while she was here with gossiping, and lies spread about her, from a jealous she wolf. Attacking the Alpha or luna calls for death, and Gabi did it quickly for Trina.
She gave her more mercy than I would have done, 10 someone who had not one, but two weapons to try to kill me with. If you have a problem or issue with it, then you need to go ahead and get packed and you can leave when Gina, Elise, and Ava leave, as they will be banished from the pack in the next 10 minutes. If you want to tell any of them good-buy, then I would suggest that you do it now” I told them and I saw the jaws drop on all three of the girls who all started yelling in unison.
“Dana made us help her, why are we being punished for being forced to help her?” Elise yelled out.
“That is not fair, we didn’t know that she was going to be banished” Ava yelled out.
“Why she was our friend and we believed her. We were tricked. That is not fair to banish us, where are we going to go?” Gina asks.
“You were all warned on two separate occasions, most notably in the town hall meeting where I told you about the fight and then told anyone who helped her that they would get the same punishment as she got. Then I reminded you all of what she had done, not once but twice.
There was a reason that she was in a cell. She was in a great deal of trouble. You made a choice, and it was the wrong choice, now you have to live with it” I told them as warriors walked up with their luggage and duffle bags. They looked in surprise that their stuff was packed up, and no one left the stands to tell them goodbye.
“I guess no one wants to tell you goodbye, the behavior that you three have displayed is terrible and not what our pack is about. I put up with too much waiting for the fight with you girls showing who you really are to Gabi, and me I am disappointed in anyone who repeated the vile rumors.
They were complete lies, and I told you all that they were lies, and yet some of you still believed Dana. You knew she had allowed trespassers onto our pack land by giving them the schedule of where they would be, which could have resulted in many deaths.
Dana has shown how little she cared for the pack and frankly, I am embarrassed that she had ANY support at all.
If Gabi hadn’t told me to wait for the babies to get here before she punished Dana, I would have banished all four of them from the pack a month ago. Seeing Trina pass weapons onto Dana during this fight has disappointed me more than I can say, and I hope you all take what Gabi told you as the truth, she is my mate and the mother of the heir of the pack. She deserves your respect” I told them.
Several people stood up and cheered in agreement and I saw Sarah and Devon as two of the first of our pack members to stand. Gabi knew in her heart to help them, she could feel it like she had a 6th sense about it. I will always listen to her counsel and have faith in her opinion.
They all ended up standing and clapping in agreement and I pray that they make sure to have faith in their Iuna as well because she was Goddess given to me to be their Luna.
I looked over at Gabi and saw her smiling at her people, and Heath nodded to me in an acknowledgment that I was moving them in the right direction, as I knew he was pissed about the rumors and how Gabi had been treated by a few in this pack.
“Go ahead and escort them to the gate, with their bags. Please put them on the banished list, and that they are denied entrance to the pack, ever again”.
I told the warriors, and I could hear them yelling and begging to be allowed to stay, but I knew them for what they were. Troublemakers who would not ever stop until they got what they wanted, and now that Dana was dead, and had been proven wrong, they wanted to stay.
They would probably be good, for a little while. You know keep their heads down, not cause any trouble, then probably do the same thing that they did before, which was starting rumors and causing dissension in the pack.
I didn’t know them very well, except for them flirting with me occasionally, but I had vowed to wait for my mate by that time, and I did. I didn’t want to have anything to do with those three girls, and I wish to the Goddess that I hadn’t had anything to do with Dana.
That was one of the worst decisions of my life and glancing over at her dead body, I don’t feel sadness, I felt relief because her days of causing problems are over now.
In the following weeks, Gabi put many things into action. We had the garden grow to be three times its original size, and the children were also allowed to help, so the garden would thrive as the years went on. It also gave parents time with their children teaching them how to change up what was planted in each area to replenish the nutrients in the soil.
Gabı also started training the Omegas personally, in the time frame that was good for them, as they were busy with meals and cleaning, and she wanted them to be strong as well. Every dollar we saved was money going in to buy that area of land to the north of us.
It includes the land where the shack was. Gabi’s vision of the new cottages, and my vision of a new packhouse were all going to go there.
Gabi also became a lead trainer along with Jason, and she did have to deal with a few guys who were warriors and doing their patrols during the fight, who thought they would beat her in a sparring match Gabi would pull no punches in those fights. She was through being picked on and would end the fights quickly, but the warriors always had respect for her afterward, because she didn’t hurt them like they realized that she could have with how swiftly she took them down and out.
They were quite impressed with her hunting abilities as well and by the size of her wolf. We would go out for hunts to let our wolves out and take deer down to be brought in for processing, and they were all amazed at the size of her wolf.
She was just a head shorter than my own wolf, and the only tip-off between us, of who was who, when we weren’t standing next to each other was that her wolf had her blue eyes, and Rafe had dark eyes
Rafe enjoyed those times together and our bond grew even stronger for it, as we didn’t usually have too much downtime to be able to go out and just run and play together. We were both very competitive and usually made it a competition to see who could get the most deer.
We have a big pack, and it was expensive to feed so many people, and this helped save the pack money as well Gabi and Azylin would go hit sales for packs of socks, underwear, and bras to help build up the room for emergencies.
We became known as a pack they would take in families by words of mouth, along with Ever Green, and Red River, who just absorbed River Bed into their pack and were going with just the one name. Derek and Anthony would be the ones to question the newcomers there, as Anthony seemed to be able to tell who the ones who needed help were, from the ones who were just trying to infiltrate the pack. Heath and Von questioned the people in their pack, and Gabi and I did it for our pack.
The rogue activity continued to pick up in the next few months, and they seemed to be hitting our three packs, on some kind of odd schedule. Just our three packs, they left Crimson Shadow and Black Night out of it I could see them leaving Black Night out of it Alpha Black literally had an army of warriors in his pack, but we had over 500 in ours now, and we had a really strong crew.
Gabi had started a sharpshooter team, and Hudson had come and trained the team on how to be a sniper, and we had two men, and two women that excelled at it. We have 12 people on the team now including Gabi, and she is really proud of them.
We had the test at Ever Green, and we now have three elite warriors in our pack now, as well as Alan Devon and Gavin both made the team as anticipated, and in another 6 months, we would do it again, until both teams had 5 members on each of the teams.
I do not count Gabı, or myself in those numbers, as it is just too hard for us to leave the pack with the babies now, we will fight here on our packlands, but we will not be leaving our pack to train again, we would just do that here. Jason had gotten even stronger after training with Gabi and me, and he would have tried out for the team, he just hadn’t decided if he wanted to or not yet.
The rogue’s attack like every other month, but not on a set schedule, it is usually within two weeks after one of the other packs had been attacked, so here in the next week, either Ever Green or we would be getting a surprise visit, and Gabi wanted us to be prepared for it.
She is ready to stop whoever it is, as she doesn’t want to lose one pack member over a rogue attack.
