Mommy,We Got a Husband
Chapter 405 I'll Definitely Work Hard

"No, Josep," Stellan said, noticing Josep was seriously pissed. She quickly added, "Alaric ain't that shallow. Sure, his actions are kinda hard to get right now, but the Knight family's been through a lot lately, so..." "Alright, Galatea, you don't gotta explain. I know it ain't your fault. You're caught in the middle, and it's rough for you," Josep replied.

Stellan just hung her head and stayed quiet.

"It's cool, really," Tommy chimed in, "If my being here caused any drama, it's on me. I shouldn't have bugged Uncle Josep to help me find a job in the first place. My bad, seriously." "Tommy, don't say that," Stellan shot back, "This isn't on you."

"Okay, since we're here, let's drop it. I'm mad, but as a doctor, I can't ignore my patient."

With that, Josep handed Stellan a note. "This is Alaric's future meds, Galatea. You take it, and his treatment's on you now."

The details were super thorough. Stellan felt a wave of gratitude. "Thanks a ton, Josep. I really appreciate it."

"No need to thank me. Just doing my job," Josep said, "Alright, I gotta prep for a lecture today. You two can head out." Tommy nodded, "Okay, Uncle Josep."

Stellan and Tommy left Josep's place together. Once they were alone, Stellan apologized again, "I'm really sorry about all this, Tommy."

Tommy shrugged, "It's cool, Ms. Storm. Please don't fight with Mr. Knight over me. It's all good."

Stellan asked, "I heard Ambrose is recruiting you?"

Tommy replied, "Ms. Storm, you got some solid intel. Yeah, he is."

"Ambrose is a sneaky, shady dude. Not a good guy. You can't work for him," Stellan warned.

Tommy was surprised, "Really? From what I've seen, Ambrose seems chill, not stuck-up at all, and pretty down-to-earth."

"He's a pro at faking it, a total hypocrite. Seriously, don't go to Far East International," Stellan insisted, hating Ambrose and not wanting him to mess with anyone else.

"Is that so?" Tommy frowned, then said, "But it's kinda late for that, Ms. Storm. I've already signed the contract."

"You already signed? That was fast." Stellan was shocked. How did it happen so quickly?

Tommy explained, "Yeah, it was kinda emotional. After Mr. Knight let me go, I was ready to head back home. Bags packed and everything. Then Ambrose showed up, saying his assistant quit and he needed a new one. He seemed really genuine, and honestly, I don't wanna leave Country A just yet. It's got a lot of opportunities. So, when Ambrose offered, I took it."

Hearing this, Stellan was at a loss for words. The contract was already signed, and if Tommy backed out now, Ambrose wouldn't let it slide.

Tommy, looking a bit sheepish, said, "I'm really sorry, Ms. Storm. He seemed so genuine when he approached me, so I just went for it without thinking too much."

"It's alright, but seriously, watch your back with him," Stellan said. There wasn't much more she could add.

"I get it. Don't worry. If he turns out to be a jerk, I'll quit on the spot and cut ties," Tommy promised. Stellan nodded. "Just make sure you don't get burned. Alright, if there's nothing else, I'll head out."

Tommy replied, "Okay, and please, don't fight with Mr. Knight over me. He really cares about you."

"I know. Goodbye." With that, Stellan turned and left. Tommy watched her until she was out of sight, then snapped back to reality.

After parting ways with Stellan, Tommy headed straight to Far East International's jewelry company, where Ambrose was currently putting in work.

"Mr. Vale," Tommy addressed Ambrose formally since he was now part of the company.

"Glad to have you on board at Far East International," Ambrose said, "I believe you can outshine Denny."

Tommy assured, "Mr. Vale, I'll do my best to be a top-notch assistant."

"I have full faith in you," Ambrose said, giving him a pat on the shoulder. "Now, let's go meet my father. I'm the acting director, but the real boss is still my dad. Since you're joining as his assistant, it's best to meet him first." Tommy nodded. "Alright."

Ambrose then took Tommy to meet Stuart. When they walked in, Stuart didn't even glance at Tommy.

"This your new assistant?" Stuart said with a mix of disdain and annoyance, "Fired by Alaric, and you hired him at a premium? Are there no more talented people out there that you have to pick up Alaric's leftovers?"

Ambrose quickly defended, "Dad, Tommy's a rare find. Even though he didn't stay long at Nexus Innovations, he was the general manager's assistant. He's got the inside scoop on their management style and recent reports. Hiring him is definitely a smart move."

Hearing this, Stuart finally looked at Tommy, sizing him up. Tommy quickly and respectfully said, "Mr. Stuart Vale, it's an honor to meet you. Your reputation is well-known, and seeing you today, I can tell it's well-deserved. I've admired Far East International for a long time. I'm grateful Mr. Ambrose Vale appreciates my potential. I promise to work hard for Far East International. I hope you'll give me this chance."

Stuart's eyes flickered, and after a moment of thought, he said, "Alright, I'll give you a shot. But know this, Far East International doesn't tolerate slackers. Since you're coming in as the director's assistant, you need to deliver results that outshine Nexus Innovations."

"Thank you, Mr. Stuart Vale, for this opportunity. I'll give my all for Far East International," Tommy said with determination.
