Mommy,We Got a Husband
Chapter 404 "It's Okay, It's All My Fault."

Alaric had seen this coming a mile away. He let out a heavy sigh and said, "I'm really sorry this pissed you off. I know none of you get why I did it, but I had my reasons. Seriously, I'm sorry."

He gave Josep a deep bow and said, "Thanks a ton, Josep, for saving my life. I owe you big time. If you ever need anything, I'll do my best to help."

Josep sat there, back turned, too mad to even look at him. Alaric tried again, "Sorry for the hassle today. You should rest. I'm outta here."

"Take your crap with you. I don't want it!" Josep snapped.

Alaric shrugged, "If you don't want it, toss it. I'm leaving it here. I will see myself off."

With that, Alaric walked out. He drove straight to the company. When he got there, Cormac looked surprised. "Weren't you supposed to be at Josep's place today?" Alaric nodded. "Yeah, I was."

Cormac's curiosity was piqued. "So, what happened?"

"I got kicked out," Alaric sighed. "Just like I thought, Josep was super pissed after I explained."

"Who wouldn't be? Your reason was pretty flimsy. It's a miracle he didn't throw you out on the spot," Cormac said.

Alaric just took a deep breath and stayed quiet.

"Maybe you're just overthinking it?" Cormac suggested.

Alaric was taken aback. "You too? If even you think that, then no one gets me."

Cormac clarified, "Look, I support you. In crazy times, you gotta nip any weird stuff in the bud. But Tommy's different. Now you've pissed off your main doctor. What's your plan? Will Josep still treat you?" Alaric shrugged again. "We didn't talk about it, but it's probably a no-go now."

Cormac sighed. "So, isn't this a loss for you? You're in a crucial recovery phase. What if Josep bails on you?"

Alaric hadn't thought about it much, but he stayed hopeful. "If not Josep, then Galatea can handle it. It's just giving me treatment injections. She can do it. I just feel bad about the whole Josep thing." Cormac smirked, "You're lucky your wife's got mad skills. Otherwise, who'd save your butt?"

Alaric gave a bitter smile and then snapped, "Quit rubbing it in and get out. Go back to the entertainment complex."

"I wouldn't stick around even if you begged me. Enjoy your misery," Cormac said, leaving the office.

Now alone, Alaric felt pretty down and full of regret.

If he'd just said no to Josep from the start, things wouldn't be this bad. But there was no "what if" in real life; it was what it was.

Meanwhile, Stellan was having coffee with Rowena. Seeing her gloomy face, Rowena couldn't help but chuckle, "You two have been married forever, but you still act like you're dating. Your face is like a mood ring. When things are good, you beam. When you fight, you look all down."

"I don't want to either. If Tommy was just some random employee, firing him would be no biggie. But he's Josep's nephew. Now, I'm too embarrassed to face Josep and have no clue how to explain it," Stellan said, clearly troubled. "Yeah, it's a tough spot. So, do you think Tommy's got any shady intentions towards you?" Rowena asked.

"Not at all. He's just my assistant, doing his job. I don't think there's anything inappropriate," Stellan said, genuinely not feeling anything was off.

"Maybe you haven't seen through Tommy yet? Anyway, it's already come to this. Don't stress too much," Rowena advised.

Stellan thought for a moment and then said, "Rowena, can you call Cormac and ask him to check with Alaric about what went down with Josep today?" Rowena raised an eyebrow. "Why not call Mr. Knight directly? Why go the long way around?"

Stellan pleaded, "I just don't want to call him. Please, Rowena, call Cormac."

"Alright, I'll call him now." Rowena took out her phone and called Cormac, asking about the situation. After hearing the answer, Rowena's frown deepened. "What happened? Does Cormac know?" Stellan asked, seeing her tense expression.

Rowena replied, "Cormac said Mr. Knight got kicked out by Josep. Josep was super pissed."

Hearing this, Stellan was shocked. She knew it would turn out badly. What should she do now?

Stellan complained, "I really don't get what Alaric is thinking. Josep is still his main doctor. How can Josep treat him if he's this mad? It's infuriating." Rowena didn't know how to console her and could only ask, "So what do we do now?"

Stellan checked the time and said, "What else can we do? I'll go to Josep's place and apologize again. Josep's getting old; we can't let him get too upset." Rowena nodded. "Alright, go ahead."

Stellan drove to Josep's house, but to her surprise, Tommy was also there, making her even more embarrassed.

"Josep, Tommy," Stellan greeted them awkwardly.

"Ms. Storm," Tommy stood up and greeted Stellan.

Since Tommy was there, Stellan apologized first, "Tommy, I'm really sorry about Alaric firing you." At this point, Stellan didn't know how to continue.

"It's okay. It's my fault. I did something that made Mr. Knight misunderstand," Tommy said slowly, "It's not your fault, Ms. Storm. Mr. Knight fired me because he cares too much about you and is afraid I'm a bad person who will take you away. I understand."

The more Tommy said this, the more Stellan felt ashamed. If she had known Tommy was here, she wouldn't have come.

"Isn't Alaric being too sensitive? Tommy didn't do anything, yet he was maliciously speculated against." Josep was still very angry and said to Stellan, "Isn't he being too strict with you? Does he get uneasy whenever a man appears around you?"
