Mommy,We Got a Husband
Chapter 373 If You Want to See Your Kids, You Have to Beg Me

Stellan was really trying to forget that today was Marigold's big 60, but every time she opened her phone or laptop, there were those annoying pop-up messages.

It was obvious Marigold had gone all out for this birthday bash, and Stellan just wanted the day to be over already.

"Ms. Storm," Tommy knocked and strolled in, handing over some papers. "These need your John Hancock." "Alright," Stellan said, flipping through the documents, signing them, and passing them back to Tommy. Tommy lingered, so Stellan asked, "Anything else?"

"Yeah," Tommy said, a bit hesitant. "Ms. Storm, when are you gonna give me some real work? I can start at the bottom or jump right into the workshop. I feel kinda guilty just running errands for Silas with this fat paycheck." Stellan thought Tommy had a good head on his shoulders, not wanting to get paid for doing nothing. But she remembered Cormac's advice to be careful during these times.

"You just got here, no rush. Shadow Silas around the departments and get the lay of the land first," Stellan said, brushing him off. "In a few days, I'll give you something more substantial."

"Got it, I won't bug you anymore," Tommy said and left.

Stellan thought Cormac was being a bit paranoid about Tommy, but she knew caution was key for the long haul. She'd already set someone to dig into Tommy's background. She turned back to her computer, but another message popped up.

[Marigold spills the tea in an interview, exposing Stellan's true colors.]

Stellan didn't want to give it any attention, but the headline was too juicy to ignore. She clicked on it and watched the interview video.

Marigold said, "About my sixtieth birthday today, I need to clear the air. Alaric didn't show because Stellan's got him wrapped around her finger."

"Stellan's a schemer and a manipulator. She drove a wedge between me and Alaric, and now, while Alaric's recovering, she's taken over our Knight family business."

"She even convinced Alaric to cut ties with me, so he didn't come to my birthday. But it's fine, I've accepted it. If he wants to ditch me for Stellan, I'll just consider him no longer my son." "As for Stellan, a nasty woman like her will never have a happy ending!"

Seeing Marigold's bitter face in the video made Stellan's blood boil. She was a pro at twisting the truth and badmouthing her to the media.

Stellan slammed her laptop shut. With all these messages popping up, there was no way she could get any work done today.

She figured she might as well go find Rowena and grab a coffee, or she'd be too bummed out. But just as she was about to leave, her phone rang.

Seeing it was a call from the school, Stellan's heart skipped a beat. 'Are the kids sick or anything?' She quickly answered.

The teacher said, "Ms. Storm, Caspian, Harry, and Elisa were just picked up by your family's butler. Just wanted to let you know."

Joe, the Knight family's butler, was well-known to the school staff. Today, he came to get the kids, saying it was for Marigold's birthday celebration. The school didn't think twice about it. But with all the recent drama, the teachers had seen Marigold's rant about Stellan. They didn't want to get blamed later for letting the kids go without Stellan's okay, so they called her. Stellan was floored. "What did you say? Joe took them?"

The teacher confirmed, "Yes, he said it was for their grandmother's birthday, so we let him take them."

Stellan didn't waste a second. She hung up, grabbed her car keys, and bolted out the door.

Marigold already despised her. If she took the kids back to Knight Manor, she'd probably hide them to use as leverage. Stellan couldn't let that happen!

She sped to Knight Manor. The place was buzzing with guests and media for Marigold's sixtieth. When the reporters saw Stellan, they swarmed like bees to honey.

"Ms. Storm, did you hear what Marigold said about you? Is it true?"

"Ms. Storm, please respond. What's the real story?"

These reporters were like gnats. Stellan only cared about her kids and had no time for their nonsense.

"Get out of my way!" She bulldozed through them, heading straight for Marigold.

"Where are my kids?" Stellan demanded.

The guests and reporters were all ears, waiting for the showdown.

Marigold wanted to argue, but it was her birthday, and a public spat would be a mess.

"Everyone, enjoy yourselves. I'll be back shortly," Marigold told the crowd, then turned to Stellan, "Let's talk somewhere else."

Marigold walked off, and Stellan followed. The guests and reporters tried to tag along, but security blocked them.

"I don't have time for this. Where are my kids?" Stellan demanded.

Marigold sneered, "What do you mean? They're Knight family children; their last name is Knight! Alaric may not acknowledge me as his mother, and I don't acknowledge him as my son. But Caspian, Harry, and Elisa are my grandchildren. Stellan, if you want to see them, beg me. Otherwise, you'll never see them again!"

Stellan realized she had messed up. She should've told the school not to let Marigold or anyone else pick up the kids. But now it was too late.
