Mommy,We Got a Husband -
Chapter 372 Marigold's Bad Idea Again
Hearing those words, Cormac was totally speechless for a sec.
"Alright, here's a question. Did you become a shrink because of me?" Rowena quickly added, "And no BS, you gotta be straight with me."
"Yeah," Cormac admitted, "When I saw you battling depression and trying to end it all, I hated myself. Plus, I wanted to stick it to Griffon, so I went all in and became a psychologist." "So, we're meant to be," Rowena said with a huge grin, "No matter how long we're apart, we'll always end up together."
Rowena snuggled into his arms, feeling like the luckiest girl in the world right then.
The guy she couldn't forget all these years hadn't forgotten her either. How Romantic!.
"How about we get hitched tomorrow?" Rowena blurted out.
Cormac was taken aback. "Tomorrow?"
"Yeah, I'm scared something might come up. What if you change your mind and ditch me? That'd be so unfair. I need that marriage certificate to feel secure. Let's do it first thing tomorrow." Cormac nodded, "Alright. Let's get married tomorrow."
'At this point, why not?'
"Awesome!" Rowena beamed.
Rowena couldn't wait to share the news with Stellan. When Stellan heard they were back together, she couldn't stop grinning.
"I feel like a matchmaking genius," Stellan bragged to Alaric, "I played a huge part in getting them back together. I convinced Cormac today. Am I awesome or what?"
"Convincing a shrink? That's beyond awesome; it's epic," Alaric said, giving her nose a playful pinch.
"Right? I think so too. Looks like our dream of a double wedding is gonna happen soon." Stellan started daydreaming. "Where should we have the wedding?"
Alaric said, "You should talk it over with Rowena first. Whatever you two want, Cormac and I will just go along with it."
Stellan teased, "You're so chill?"
Alaric replied, "Of course, marrying such an amazing wife, if I don't spoil you, I'd be nuts."
Hearing this, Stellan couldn't help but laugh. She then grabbed Alaric's cheeks and kissed him.
Stellan remarked, "My cool hubby is really adorable."
Alaric said, "I'm only like this with you. No one else gets to see this side of me."
"Honored." Stellan kissed him again and then cuddled up in his arms, saying, "The day after tomorrow is Josep's lecture. Let the driver take you to the lecture hall first, then take me to the office." Alaric asked, "You're really worried about me? I already promised you; how could I not go?"
Stellan said, "You never know. What if you find it boring and bail? Better safe than sorry. I need to see you go in before I head to work."
"Alright, I'll do as you say." Alaric knew the day after tomorrow was Marigold's sixtieth birthday.
Actually, a big reason he agreed to hit up the lecture was to dodge Marigold. If she sent Joe to the villa to hunt him down, he'd rather be anywhere but there.
Fast forward to the day after tomorrow. Just like Stellan said, the driver dropped Alaric off at the lecture hall, and Stellan made sure he was settled in.
Alaric teased, "Are you relieved now?"
"Yeah, I am." Stellan reminded him again, "Josep's lecture is deep and meaningful. Pay attention; it's really good for you."
Alaric replied, "Got it, I'll be good."
Hearing Alaric's playful tone, Stellan couldn't help but laugh. "Alright. I'm off to the company."
After that, Alaric watched Stellan leave.
Today was Marigold's sixtieth birthday, and she had been planning a huge bash for ages.
The venue was Knight Manor. The place was decked out, costing a fortune, and it was super flashy and luxurious.
Joe said, "Mrs. Knight, it's already nine. The invite says it starts at nine-thirty. Guests will be rolling in soon." Marigold asked, "What about the media?"
"They're already here," Joe reported, "Dozens of outlets, all big names. We're guaranteed headlines."
Marigold sneered, "Good. I want this to be the talk of the town. I want Alaric and that witch Stellan to hear about it."
"Don't worry, with a party this big, they can't miss it," Joe said, stirring the pot, "I can't believe Stellan's so sneaky. I asked the maids at Knight Mansion. They said she set up some lecture for Mr. Knight early in the morning to keep him from celebrating with you."
"She's a real piece of work. Just thinking about it makes me mad. Alaric's usually so smart, but he's totally whipped," Marigold fumed.
"Exactly!" Joe added, "Mrs. Knight, even if Mr. Knight can't come, we can still get Mr. Caspian Knight, Mr. Rook Storm, and Zoe Hartley here. They're at school now. It's easy to pull them out with a call. They're just kids, easy to sway." "Why didn't I think of that?" Marigold's eyes lit up. "Alaric's at the lecture, and Stellan's at work. Perfect time to grab the kids from school."
Hearing this, Marigold's vengeful spirit flared up, and she said hatefully, "Once we have them, I'll hide them well. If they want to see the kids, they'll have to beg me!"
"Exactly," Joe quickly agreed, "We can't let that witch Stellan keep winning. I'll head to the school right now."
Marigold urged, "Hurry up."
Watching Joe leave, Marigold smiled smugly. She could already picture Stellan begging her to see the kids. She was dead set on making Stellan grovel, but little did she know, things were about to go way off script.
