Alaric was still racing against time. Although Josep promised to fly over immediately, he was far away, and just the flight itself took nearly ten hours. Moreover, the travel time also depends on the flight schedule. So, Stellan is still particularly anxious.

Stellan hadbeen waiting outside the intensive care unit, and Cormac had been accompanying her. Although he felt the same as Stellan, he must comfort her.

"Wasn't Josep the director of your research institute before? That means he's a top figure in the medical field. Since he promised to come, there should be no problem. Don't worry too much," Cormac said. Stellan just nodded, unable to say anything.

"Were you kidnapped?" Cormac asked again.

"Yes," Stellan replied. "It's Todd's doing."

Kidnapped by Todd?

"Then I'll call the police," Cormac said, quickly taking out his phone to call the police.

Todd not only kidnapped Stellan but also caused Alaric to be in critical condition. They absolutely cannot let Todd get away with it; Todd must be brought to justice!

After reporting to the police, Cormac continued to wait anxiously with Stellan.

Meanwhile, Marigold was equally anxious. She had already informed Ambrose that Stellan had gone out alone, and Ambrose should have taken action.

However, a whole day had passed, yet Ambrose hadn't given her any feedback. Marigold was extremely worried and kept calling Ambrose, but he kept rejecting her calls.

"That bastard Ambrose, did he fail again?" Marigold couldn't stay calm. "I can't wait any longer. I need to go to the villa and see what's going on."

Ambrose was deliberately not answering Marigold's calls; he was feeling smug.

"Foolish woman. If you knew that the one lying on the hospital bed, barely clinging to life, was Alaric but not Stellan, you'd go crazy," Ambrose said smugly.

"This time, we really have to thank that Marigold. If it weren't for her, we wouldn't have had the chance to deal with Alaric. Usually, it's the kids who cause trouble for their parents, but Marigold is a rare case of a parent screwing over her kid. It's really satisfying," Denny uttered.

Denny was also overjoyed. He had been living under Todd's oppression, but now that Todd was dead, once Ambrose took control, Denny could also throw his weight around in the Vale group. Just thinking about it made Denny feel great!

As soon as Denny finished speaking, Bill walked in. Seeing Bill, Ambrose quickly asked respectfully, "Bill, did you inform Stuart?"

Bill replied, "Since I chose to lie with you, I naturally understand the seriousness of the matter. Todd was beaten to death by Alaric in a fit of rage; it has nothing to do with anyone else." Hearing this, Ambrose smiled with satisfaction.

By this time, Marigold had arrived at the villa. Upon hearing that Alaric had rushed out, she immediately felt a grim sense of foreboding.

She hurriedly took out her phone to call Alaric. Alaric was still in the intensive care unit, and his phone was in Stellan's hand.

Seeing Marigold's name on the screen, Stellan felt disgusted and directly hung up. After hanging up, she turned off the phone. Stellan's heart was in turmoil as she waited for Josep. She had no mind for anything else, so she did that for peace.

"Why is the phone off?" Marigold was really anxious when she heard that Alaric's phone was off. She felt increasingly uneasy.

If Alaric knew Stellan was missing, he would definitely want to find her. But wasn't Alaric lying in bed, completely exhausted?

Alaric was still not out of danger, and Stellan had no other thoughts. If it weren't for waiting for Josep's call, she would have turned off her phone too. She had no mind to deal with anything else. When she received a call from Josep, Stellan excitedly answered, "Hello, Josep, have you arrived?"

"Yes, I just got off the plane," Josep replied.

"That's great. My friend has already gone to pick you up. His name is Cormac Nash, about the same age as me," Stellan said.

Timing it just right, Cormac drove to the airport. After picking up Josep, Cormac sped to the hospital where Alaric was.

Josep was of medium build, wearing glasses, exuding a cultured and refined demeanor.

Seeing Cormac rushing in with Josep, Stellan excitedly greeted them, "Josep, thank you so much!"

"Save the thanks for later. Where's the patient?" Josep asked.

"In the intensive care unit," Stellan replied.

"Move him to the operating room!" Josep instructed.

Stellan had already sent all of Alaric's test results to Josep. Josep had reviewed them in detail on the plane and was already familiar with Alaric's medical history and current condition; so he could start the surgery immediately. Josep quickly changed into sterile clothing, and the doctors and nurses pushed Alaric into the operating room.

The words "Surgery in Progress" lit up once again.
