Mommy,We Got a Husband -
Chapter 25 Did You Sleep with My Mom?
"My name's Alaric," he answered truthfully.
"Then why are you answering my mom's phone? Where is she?"
"She's asleep."
"You slept together?!" Elisa was utterly shocked, 'Didn't mom returned to the country just recently? How did she end up in bed with a man so soon!'
'TV shows always say that when a guy and a girl sleep together, babies come into the picture!'
Beside Elisa, with the phone to his ear, Caspian was absolutely dumbfounded. What on earth was happening? Harry had mentioned something about actions having irreversible consequences, but could things really spiral out of control this fast?
"You have to take responsibility for my mom!" Elisa demanded angrily, "What's your story? How did you end up sleeping with my mom?"
"You might want to ask your mom about that when she wakes up. She knows best," he suggested.
'Galatea alone knew how she had worked her charms on Caspian, climbing the social ladder step by step,' Alaric thought to himself.
"She's out there snagging a boyfriend and not even telling us," Elisa complained, her frustration was on the verge of boiling over. "So, you're Alaric? I want to see what you look like, pronto. Send me your picture." 'Send her a picture?' Alaric's eyebrows arched in disbelief. "Wait, you want a picture of me?"
"Of course, I do! You're about to be my stepdad. I've got to know what you look like. And let me tell you, if you're not easy on the eyes, forget marrying my mom. She's a knockout, you know."
Alaric couldn't help but steal another glance at the still slumbering Galatea. Sure, he had his gripes about her character, but beauty-wise, she was stunning, no argument there. "Hurry up already!" Elisa demanded, impatiently.
"You could just google me, you know. You'll find plenty," Alaric suggested, adding casually, "And Elisa, it's late. Kiddo, you should be in bed." His voice was a low, velvety purr. With a chuckle, he hung up, leaving Elisa dumbfounded. 'How does this guy know that her name is Elisa?'
"Hey, he said his name's Alaric, Harry. Ring any bells?" Elisa gave Caspian a puzzled look.
"Nope," Caspian quickly replied. 'How could he admit that the guy is his biological dad.' But that was a detail he couldn't reveal.
"He said we could look him up online. Harry, do a search for me, will you?"
"Okay," Caspian replied, a beat too slow.
Alaric, as he put Galatea's phone back, looked at her once again. She was out cold, almost as if she'd been drugged.
They were close to the place Galatea had mentioned, but as they neared their destination, Alaric had a change of heart. With a swift twist of the steering wheel, he sped off in a new direction. When Elisa finally saw Alaric's photo, she was indeed awestruck by his striking looks. Then, she turned to Caspian with a mix of surprise and curiosity and back at her own reflection. "Harry, doesn't this guy look a lot like us?" she mused in awe. "I mean, don't you think he could be our real dad?"
"Yeah," Caspian thought, 'Of course, he looks like us. He's our father.'
It made sense. Harry and Elisa were twins, and Harry resembled Alaric uncannily. 'But that's just crazy talk. Completely different parents, how's that even possible?'
"Do you think he could be our dad?" she pondered aloud.
"You don't know who your own dad is?" Caspian blurted out, taken aback. But his surprise was promptly met with a punch.
"Are you out of your mind, Harry? We've never seen our dad. Mom said we don't have one. How could that even make sense?" Elisa remarked.
This revelation hit Caspian hard. 'So, Harry and Elisa didn't know who their dad was? But he's Alaric and Orion's kid, isn't he? Isn't that the case?'
Elisa's shriek interrupted Caspian's train of thought, "A director of Nexus Innovations? And he's some handsome, loaded guy? If he becomes my dad, does that mean I could inherit his fortune?" "You could give it a shot," Caspian said, amused.
"Mom sure has an eye for men. Now, I've got to figure out a way to get those two hitched as soon as possible," she schemed aloud.
Caspian remained silent. 'I haven't expected things to move this fast. Now, it seemed like we're all on the same page.'
'Once Alaric marries Galatea and tells everyone about the switch with Harry, all the misunderstandings will be cleared. Wouldn't that mean they could live happily ever after as a family of five?' At the thought, Caspian's smile was sweet, yet reality would prove his ideas were far too naive.
Yesterday, Galatea was indeed exhausted, never had she imagined that she'd sleep so soundly, waking up to a splitting headache.
Checking her phone, it was 7:30 AM.
"Elisa, bring me my clothes. I'm going to be late for work!" she called out lethargic. By now, Harry and Elisa should have been out of bed, dressed, and ready for breakfast and school. But after shouting, no response came. "Elisa? Elisa?" Suddenly, she realized this wasn't her room. 'Such a large, luxurious bedroom. Where am I?'
"Finally awake?" At the door, Alaric spoke, "Thought you were dead to the world."
Last night, he had brought her back to the Knight family villa, carrying her from the car to the bed, all without waking her.
"Why am I here? Didn't I ask you to take me home?" After her question, she hastily peeked under the covers, relieved to see she was fully clothed.
"Don't flatter yourself. With your skinny frame, I wouldn't want you in my bed even if you were handed to me."
'Jerk!'
"That's for the best!" Galatea retorted as she got out of bed. "And don't get cocky. A guy like you, all show and no substance, barely holding on to life? You're not my type." Just as she was about to step down, he threw her back onto the bed.
"What are you doing?" she asked, confused.
"Galatea, I've realized you're quite the tease!" Alaric remarked.
"Trying to provoke me with those words so I'll sleep with you, is that it?" she retorted.
"Alaric, you're truly delusional," Galatea snapped in anger. "Move aside, I'm going to be late for work!"
"Aspiring to sleep with the wealthy isn't shameful. What's shameful is pretending to be pure when harboring such desires!" He said as he flung Galatea onto the couch.
"You're not just shameful. You're pitiful!" Galatea shot back.
"Say that again!" Alaric's voice was icy and commanding.
"You want to hear that humiliating phrase a second time?" Galatea was genuinely surprised.
Before she could finish, he pinched her chin and gave it a punitive bite, followed by a forceful kiss. The prickling of his freshly sprouted stubble made her skin tingle. He had brazenly stolen a kiss, employing such audacious tactics on her! Then, pulling her close, his touch sparked a mixture of itch and pain in her, his body's warmth surged, and his kisses grew more intense. Did he honestly think that she would just roll over and submit? Not a chance.
