Mommy,We Got a Husband -
Chapter 243 The Three Siblings
After Caspian hung up, the car got tense. Elisa, sitting between them, wisely switched spots with Caspian and hid behind him. "Punish me?" Harry felt insulted. "Caspian, did you just say you'd punish me for Mom and Dad?"
"I'm your older brother. Show some respect," Caspian said firmly.
"Caspian!" Harry taunted, dragging out his name.
Before Harry could react, Caspian twisted his arm behind his back. Elisa, sensing trouble, moved further away, as if avoiding a mess. "Got it?" Caspian warned.
"You started this, Caspian. Don't blame me!" Harry resisted.
But he was no match for Caspian. As he started losing, Harry cried out, "It hurts! My old fracture isn't healed. It's not fair!"
Caspian immediately let go, concerned. "Did I hurt your old injury?"
Before he could finish, Harry jumped up and pinned Caspian down, knee on his chest, looking triumphant.
"All's fair in love and war. Admit it, you lost. Call me your older brother."
Fuming, Caspian shouted, "Rook Storm!"
He only called Harry that when he was really mad, a name Harry took after changing his last name.
The car stopped at Knight manor. Caspian got out first, looking angry. Harry followed, clearly in pain from the fight. "Elisa, help me out," Harry said.
Elisa hesitated, so Harry complained, "Elisa, we've grown up together. Help me out, will you?"
Elisa helped him, puzzled. "Harry, what's your deal with Caspian? Just because he's older?"
She added, "He was born first. It's true. Fighting it is pointless. You can't beat him, so why wear yourself out?"
Harry, speechless, snapped, "Let go of me!"
Elisa let go, and Harry fumed, thinking, 'No loyalty. Whoever pampers you is your brother, huh?'
Caspian, still angry, went straight upstairs, ignoring Marigold. She called out, "Caspian, aren't you eating? The food's ready."
Caspian didn't respond. Marigold corrected herself, "Harry, aren't you eating?"
Still no response. Then Harry and Elisa came in, and Marigold, trying to please them, said, "Caspian, Elisa, come eat. I made lots of delicious food." Harry snapped, "I'm Harry. Do I look as ugly as Caspian?"
Marigold quickly apologized, "Sorry. I have terrible eyesight. I remember now. You're Harry, and he's Caspian. Come eat?"
"No. I'm too mad at Caspian," Harry said, storming upstairs and leaving Elisa behind.
Marigold looked at Elisa, who stepped back nervously. Neither Harry nor Caspian was reliable in tough moments.
"Elisa, if they won't eat, you should." Marigold picked up Elisa and carried her to the table. Elisa was too scared to move.
"Are you afraid of me?" Marigold asked, noticing Elisa's fear.
"Yes," Elisa nodded honestly. "Because you're mean and not nice to my mommy."
Who told her that? Was it Stellan?
Marigold, though annoyed, forced a kind smile. "Elisa, don't misunderstand. I'm not mean. I love you all very much. No matter what you say or do, I won't get angry." From their first meeting, Elisa had sensed Marigold's genuine kindness.
But Caspian and Harry always said Marigold was mean.
Marigold smiled. "Alright, I won't say more. Otherwise, you'll go hungry. Come, Elisa, what do you like to eat? I'll get it for you."
"Meat."
"Okay, I'll get it for you." Marigold served some meat, and Elisa politely said, "Thank you, Grandma."
"What did you just say?" Marigold looked delighted.
Elisa repeated, "Thank you, Grandma."
Marigold was overjoyed. She cupped Elisa's face and kissed her. "I knew you were the best. Only you call me Grandma. Caspian ignores me, and Harry doesn't like me."
Marigold was about to cry. Elisa quickly wiped her tears with her small hands and said, "Grandma, don't cry."
Marigold was deeply moved. She hugged Elisa and said, "Thank you, Elisa. I really like you. Can you not hate me like Caspian and Harry do?"
Elisa looked at Marigold, feeling her sincerity, and obediently nodded. "Okay."
Marigold was thrilled. Winning Elisa's heart felt like the first step to success.
"Elisa, did your mommy get mad about you three coming here?" Marigold asked tentatively. "There were misunderstandings between me and your mommy before, but I want to clear them up."
"No," Elisa said honestly. "Mommy and Daddy are flying out of town tomorrow. They have things to do. Even if she was mad, she wouldn't have time to be. Grandma, don't worry. My mommy isn't petty or vengeful." "Where are they going?" Marigold asked.
"I don't know," Elisa advised. "Grandma, Daddy and Mommy are a couple. Don't meddle in their affairs. Remember those TV shows? Happy families don't have meddlesome mothers-in-law. They just stir up trouble and cause divorces!" Marigold was shocked. "What kind of TV shows have you been watching? You shouldn't watch such nonsense."
"Then what should I watch?" Elisa asked, puzzled. "Cartoons? Boring!"
Elisa's retort left Marigold speechless. She could only smile wryly and say, "Yes, you're right."
Marigold realized she couldn't win an argument with these kids, so she stopped trying and just watched Elisa eat happily.
But Marigold was puzzled. Why were Alaric and Stellan suddenly flying out of town?
Could Stellan be up to something again?
