Mommy,We Got a Husband -
Chapter 242 Married Life Is Sweeter Than Honey
Stellan just totally disrespected Marigold. She didn't invite her to dinner and even kicked her out.
Stellan felt uneasy about it, not because she feared Marigold, but she worried that Alaric might be upset.
After dinner, Caspian, Harry, and Elisa played in the yard while Stellan and Alaric went for a walk.
"Alaric, you weren't mad earlier, were you?" Stellan asked carefully.
"Mad?" Alaric looked puzzled. "Why would I be mad?"
"Because I didn't invite Mrs. Knight to dinner. I..." Stellan couldn't bring herself to call Marigold intimately after their fallout.
"What's the big deal?" Alaric pinched her cheek. "Harry wasn't lying, and what she said behind your back is worse. I'm more worried about you. She's my mom, but I know right from wrong. She was wrong, not you." Stellan felt warm inside and kissed him. "Thanks, honey."
Alaric wrapped his arm around her waist. "I'm your husband. Others can go to their parents when they're upset, but you only have me. I won't let you down."
Stellan was so moved that she almost cried.
Alaric kissed her again. "Let's finish our walk and go home."
"Okay." Stellan smiled sweetly.
People said marriage was the grave of love, but with Alaric, Stellan felt life was sweet.
Alaric was cold to most, but once she got into his heart, he was all tenderness.
Stellan felt lucky to be the woman in his heart.
In the following days, Alaric and Stellan stayed busy, but Stellan hired three doctors. She only saw patients who specifically wanted her.
This gave her time for lab research, but she kept falling just short of success. Frustrated, she called Josep. "Josep, no matter how I adjust the capsule ratio, it doesn't work. What's wrong?"
Josep sighed. "Same here at the institute. We're always just a bit short. Drug development needs patience and precision. We can't rush it."
"Okay." Stellan agreed, knowing it was the same at the institute.
"Now that you've called, I'm going to kick your ass."
Stellan got nervous. "Did I do anything wrong, Josep?"
Josep complained, "You tell me? You got married and didn't tell me. If I hadn't seen the news, I'd still be in the dark."
Stellan apologized. "I'm really sorry, Josep. It was sudden."
"The sudden marriage is one thing, but the wedding? I need to know about that. When you set a date, you'll tell me, right?"
"You want to come to my wedding?" Stellan was genuinely surprised. Josep, a busy medical professor, flew back just for her wedding?
Josep snorted, "You act like I'm not your family."
"No, it's just that you're so busy, Josep. I'm really flattered," Stellan said, still surprised.
Josep asked, "You're rushing the drug development for that 'friend' you mentioned, now your husband, right?"
Stellan felt a bit embarrassed. "Oh, come on. Be honest," Josep pressed.
Stellan laughed awkwardly. "Alright, let's keep working on the drug and stay in touch. And definitely let me know when you set the wedding date."
"Absolutely. It would be an honor to have you there," Stellan replied.
After hanging up, Stellan felt good. Despite the Storm family incident, life had been kind. In Country M, she met Josep, who valued her and helped her safely give birth to three kids. Now, she was married to Alaric. She felt truly contented. The weekend was coming up, and Alaric had Silas book plane tickets. They had an early flight tomorrow to see Derek.
Caspian, Harry, and Elisa, who got Stellan's call, were on their way to the Knight manor. Harry and Elisa had transferred to Caspian's school, and all three were in the same class.
"Daddy, Mommy, this is too much," Elisa complained. "You're leaving us at Grandma's and going on a trip?"
"It's not a trip; we have business to take care of. We'll be back soon," Stellan explained.
"You're so heartless, abandoning us and making it sound so elegant," Harry chimed in. "If you just wanted to be a loving couple, why have kids?" Alaric and Stellan were speechless.
"Why do you talk so much?" Caspian took the phone. "Don't worry, Daddy, Mommy. I'll be a responsible older brother and take care of Harry and Elisa." "Caspian, don't take advantage of us. Who's your brother?" Harry retorted.
"Alright, Daddy, Mommy, you go ahead. If Harry misbehaves, I'll handle it." Caspian hung up the phone.
After the call, Alaric and Stellan looked at each other. Stellan asked worriedly, "Do you think Caspian and Harry will fight?"
"Possibly," Alaric said seriously. "But if they do, Harry probably won't beat Caspian."
Despite Caspian's past psychological issues, his physical condition was good. Alaric had trained him since he was little.
"You seem to be looking forward to them fighting," Stellan said helplessly.
Alaric laughed. "I kind of am. Even though Harry can't beat Caspian, his words can definitely infuriate him. Don't you think that's cute?"
Stellan was speechless. Encouraging and looking forward to them fighting-what was cute about that?
