Mommy,We Got a Husband -
Chapter 231 A Tempting Night
The moonlight tonight was magical, streaming through the window and adding to the room's cozy vibe.
The flickering light cast shadows on Stellan's face, making her cheeks look like blooming flowers.
"Honey, you really are Arizona's top socialite; your beauty is unreal," Alaric said.
Before he could finish, Stellan kicked him and said, "Alaric, stop being so cheesy. Be serious!"
"Seriously," Alaric said, "I mean every word!"
"Fine, I believe you," Stellan said, blushing a bit.
Her smile made it even harder for Alaric to hold back, and he kissed her deeply. As the kiss heated up, Alaric got bolder.
That night was one of the best nights of their lives.
But their happiness made some people uncomfortable.
Marigold tried calling Alaric and Stellan again, but both their phones were off.
"Damn it! The son I raised is being taken away by that woman," Marigold said, almost in tears.
"Mrs. Knight, you've taken your meds; you need to stay calm." Joe tried to comfort her.
Marigold snapped, "Alaric is completely under her spell. He's about to disown me. How can I stay calm?"
She started to cry. "Why is my life so miserable? I married into the Knight family for my family's sake, and that man ignored me. He'd rather have mistresses than talk to me."
"Without love, I put all my hopes on Alaric. But what happened? He left to join the military young, got severely injured, and fell into a coma. Have I had a peaceful night's sleep since then?" Marigold sighed, "Finally, he got better, and I thought I could enjoy my life. But what happened? He brought that woman back to spite me. What's the point of raising Alaric?"
Joe just nodded. "Yes, Mrs. Knight, you're right. Your life is tough."
Hearing this, Marigold got even angrier. "All you do is agree and flatter me!"
Joe hung his head in shame and stayed quiet.
Marigold angrily grabbed her phone to make a call.
When the phone rang, Ambrose was standing by the window, staring at Stellan's clinic.
When the clinic was being renovated, Stellan came by every day. He couldn't talk to her, but at least he could see her.
But now, Ambrose couldn't remember the last time he saw Stellan.
When Marigold called, Ambrose felt annoyed but answered, "Marigold, calling me? I'm flattered."
"Cut the crap," Marigold said angrily. "Last time, you said you were Stellan's ex-boyfriend and had a plan, but it was useless. Do you know they got their marriage certificate today?" Marriage certificate?
Ambrose's body shook when he heard the news.
It felt like a punch to his heart. They were married?
Stellan and Alaric were legally hitched?
Marigold asked, "Are you listening? Do you still want Stellan back?"
"Of course!" Ambrose snapped back to reality. "Stellan is the only woman I've ever loved. She's more important than my life. How could I give up on her?"
"Then do something. I can't accept her as my daughter-in-law, but Alaric is so in love with her that he's about to cut ties with me. I'm out of options." "Don't worry. I'll figure it out." Ambrose hung up and gripped his phone tightly, almost crushing it. Marriage certificate?
The news kept echoing in Ambrose's mind. Stellan and Alaric were married?
Damn it!
"Stellan, why did you marry him? He's not worth it!" Ambrose shouted and then threw his phone away. The thought that Stellan was probably with Alaric made Ambrose both angry and hurt.
Ambrose was right; that night was full of passion for Stellan and Alaric, filled with tenderness and love. "My waist hurts from all your tossing," Stellan complained while lying in Alaric's arms. Alaric quickly started massaging her gently.
"Did you take precautions?" Stellan pretended to be stern. "If you get me pregnant, you'll be doomed!" Alaric smiled. "Don't worry, I'll follow your plan. No more kids. Three ones are enough." Yes, triplets were more than enough.
"I'm tired," Stellan said, closing her eyes.
"Go to sleep. Good night."
"Good night."
Stellan always fell asleep quickly. After she was out, Alaric gently kissed her forehead.
He held her until she was completely asleep and then picked up his phone.
Silas: [Mr. Knight, there's still no news about Mr. Nash.]
After reading the message, Alaric turned off his phone and sighed.
Had Cormac left Arizona? Why was there no news about him?
Cormac found these past few days fulfilling. After comparing job offers, he made a choice.
He worked as a loader at a dock near Aurora's school. The pay was based on the amount of work done, so the more he worked, the more he earned.
The best part was that he could leave with Aurora in the morning and take the bus together. He could watch her go to school, which was nice. After spending these days together, Cormac felt more and more sorry for Aurora. She was so sensible.
When Cormac found a job, he kept busy every day. That day, he bought a lot of food because Aurora was severely malnourished.
During her growth period, she needed nutrients.
Aurora was shocked by all the delicious food.
"Wow, it smells so good!" Aurora's mouth watered. Her eyes lit up as if she had seen something amazing. "Is this meat? Wow, it looks delicious." Seeing Aurora so excited made Cormac feel distressed. Aurora probably hadn't had much tasty food growing up, had she?
