Chapter 21

Asher's P.O.V

I had been in the gym all night, but after coming out and walking into the hallway of the school I realized something strange was going on with all the students today. All the boys and girls, both human and werewolf, all seemed happy. They stood clinging to each other as if they would die if they were separated.

Before entering this weird atmosphere, I changed my path and started walking towards the canteen. I was not the least bit interested in knowing why they were acting like that. As I reached near the canteen, it was even more ridiculous than before. Some of the boys had roses hidden in their pants pockets in order to suddenly surprise the girls in front of them. On the other hand, some girls were giving roses to their boyfriends, unable to hide the redness of their faces. Every couple was giving each other a tight hug. "What the hell is going on in school?" I asked, getting irritated at seeing this environment and not being able to find a reprieve.

"Today is the start of Valentine's Week. Today is Rose Day. I came to learn about it when I went to the store yesterday." Leo replied as he came from the other side. I had already mind linked and called him, but he must have sensed my irritation from afar. "Then finally the craziest day of the year has come, the one in which I hate the most." I complained, heading towards the canteen. Leo also hated Valentine's Day as much as I do.

"You should not hate Valentine's Day now, but should be counting down the days waiting for this day. Until a few days ago we did not have our mate but now we have her and today is Rose Day!!!" Ross exclaimed, mind-linking me. He was unable to hide his delight, as he kept telling me different things about Rose Day.

"Hey Asher." David said as he came in front of me with a book in his hand, totally pretending to be a scholar. The female students were lusting over his handsome face.

"You keep walking around with a book in your hand when your purpose is not to teach." I remarked, rolling my eyes. When I look at the book in his hand he just looks like a hypocrite. He does not come to school to teach, but to spread his handsomeness to other girls.

"Yes, you are right. Hahahaha ..." He replied and laughed loudly as he followed me on Leo's side.

"Asher those girls are waiting for you." David commented and I had already noticed it. This was the main reason why I had always hated Valentine's week. The whole week was hard to spend in this school.

"Just ignore them." I said coldly. I badly wanted to change my path, but this was the only way I could take if I wanted to reach the canteen.

"Yes, it is easy for you to say just ignore them. It is my bad luck that the girls cannot give me flowers directly as I am their teacher due to the school rules they cannot show their feelings towards me so they secretly give me flowers. I wish they could give them to me openly." David expressed the biggest sorrow of his life.

"You are free to do anything. Just go and accept it. You will only get kicked out of the school. Nothing big will happen." I taunted, he narrowed his eyes at me.

"How mean." He replied and I ignored him.

"It means like every year you are going to break the girls' hearts by crushing their roses." Leo commented, starting to laugh loudly. David also joined in laughing, while I just chuckled at hearing them. Is it not obvious?

"Yes, it is because we have found her." Ross purred, making my heart beat fast at the mention of her. I blocked him out for a few seconds or he was going to keep talking.

"Are you going to celebrate rose day?" I asked Leo which caused him to shut his mouth.

"No, I will not." Leo quickly replied, looking away from me.

"Beta Leo, did you really think that you could hide your mate from your Alpha and his cousin? Don't even try. It's useless." David jested, while poking him in his stomach with his pointed fingers. He was trying to make him spill everything about his mate. "Stop it." Leo grumbled, showing his hand but David was not ready to give up.

"She is beautiful." David commented, causing Leo to narrow his eyes at him.

"I said stop it or I will start talking about your mate." Leo replied, smirking at David. Now it was David's turn to keep his mouth shut. As we walked into the canteen near the talkative, clingy girls I swiftly started to ignore those who were trying to give me the roses. David and Leo came beside me as they could keep them away from me. They very well knew I did not like anyone to touch me.

No matter what gender that person was, werewolf or human I never liked to touch. Ross and I grew up like that. Every year they would throw flowers towards me as I was walking past but I never took any from them. Their flowers were in my path and I had to crush them in order to get away from there. Their very well known flowers are going to be crushed under my feet, but they always tried. We were already in the canteen and as the last flower was being crushed under my feet, the sweet addictive scent of hers, that flower they kept tossing at me yes but with the added spiciness of ginger, hit my nose and Ross was looking at her too. Ross quickly got active to see her.

"No, we never liked anyone's touch, but only her touch..." Ross hummed in my mind. My heart was beating fast to see her in her school uniform. Nothing had changed about her, but something was different. She had also noticed the flowers that were going to be crushed by my feet, but at the same time I noticed something.

"WHAT THE F**k IS THAT IN HER HAND?!!" Ross yelled, mind-linking me and growled in anger. I clutched my palm as my gaze fell onto the beautiful rose in her hand.

"What? Luna already has a beautiful Rose? But didn't you used to say that it is a stupid day and you would never celebrate it? How and when did you give her the Rose and I didn't even know about it?" David asked, talking s**t that deeply affected my mind. My gaze was already burning that flower and turning its colour to black with my rage.

"It was definitely not given by me." I growled under my breath.

"Who gave it to her?" Leo slowly inquired. Bella turned her eyes away from the flower under my feet, passing by me like I was a stranger to her.

"SHE IGNORED US!!!" Ross screamed in anger. Out of anger I crushed the only flower that was left under my feet. I looked back to see that she had gone outside to the seating area and was sitting with Lily in one of the chairs available outside the canteen. "I think I know the reason...." David said, I looked back at him. He was looking at his phone.

"See this..." David continued giving me his phone. Leo was also watching it with curiosity. It was a school page that was only for students and no teachers were allowed on this page, but David was friendly with everyone so he was also on this page. Actually he is the one who made it. I felt a c***k in my soul as I read the shitty line that was written....

'TYLER IS TRYING TO HIT ON BELLA AS HE CAME TO KNOW THAT SHE IS NOT THE GIRLFRIEND OF ASHER! SHE CONFIRMED IT THIS MORNING!'

"What?" Leo sounded shocked. There was even a photo that was posted by Tyler when he was giving the flower to Bella.

"IT MEANS THAT FUCKER GAVE A ROSE TO OUR MATE!! SHE ANNOUNCED THAT YOU ARE NOT HER BOYFRIEND!! THIS MEANS SHE IS MOVING ON!! DID YOU HEAR ME?! SHE IS MOVING ON AND IT IS ALL YOUR FAULT!!!" Ross angrily shouted in my mind. David quickly took his phone back before I crushed it.

"What will you do?" Leo asked. I looked at Bella who was laughing and talking with Lily.

"Nothing. I do not care who gives her a flower. I also do not care if she accepted a flower from Tyler or not." I replied, sitting on one of the chairs in the canteen as David bought and handed us each a Sprite.

"Really? you don't care?" David asked as he raised his eyebrows indicating towards my wolf claws that had come out as I was scratching the table with them.

"NO!! I DON'T CARE!!" I barked. Everyone looked at me, even Lily, but not Bella.

"What's wrong?" Leo questioned, I looked at Bella. I was remembering every word that she said to me last night, her face was now in front of me. Her smile right now was proving that she has moved on. I swiftly moved my eyes away from her as I was feeling sharp pain from only thinking about it.

"Nothing." I replied. At the same time Victoria entered the canteen and joined Bella and Lily. Maybe they all had plans of meeting here.

"As always Victoria got flowers from the boys. They must have secretly given them to her on the ground. After all, who can deny her beauty." Leo noted and David was looking at her hand. She had more than 10 flowers. He quickly moved his eyes away from Victoria as she also noticed him watching her. I was looking at Bella who was totally ignoring my existence in this canteen.

"I am trying to connect to her wolf, but she is blocking me." Ross whimpered and was in great sorrow. He was trying over and over again to connect to her wolf and she was pushing us away. I frowned and got up from there.

"I'm leaving." I told Leo and David. As soon as I got up, David and Leo also got up with me, but suddenly a speedy car entered just outside the canteen school door, attracting the attention of all the students present there. A boy, who was a werewolf, got out of the expensive black car. He was wearing good clothes and he was dressed handsomely like it was only for someone special to him.

Ross growled and I did not understand why, but he did not like him. The unknown boy with flowers in his hand was moving his head right and left as if he was looking for someone. I walked to the outside canteen and was trying to listen to Bella, Lily and Victoria. "Wow! Who is that handsome boy?" Victoria asked, totally lost in his handsomeness, as Lily also followed her gaze.

"Wow... really handsome." Lily murmured, also checked him out up and down.

"Who?" Bella asked, as her back was facing that boy.

"Look back." Lily and Victoria said together. Bella looked back and she got up from her seat, her eyebrows joined and then raised in surprise. Did she know him? Was he here to see her?

"OH MY GOD! JESSE!!?" Bella shouted in shock and called him Jesse. She knew him.

"Jesse?" Ross asked, while raising his brows in displeasure.

"I hate his name." Ross said.

"I hate him," I replied, while watching the expression of that unexpected male.

"BELLA!" He shouted louder than her. Running towards her at full speed he pulled her into a hug and not just a hug, but a tight f*****g hug! He picked her up from the floor holding her in his arms, lifting her in the air, like he was going crazy. She was looking equally happy to see him. She also hugged him tightly, like there was no tomorrow.

"Who the f**k is he?" I asked and could not help as Ross nearly came out to see the scene that was going between Bella and Jesse. She was in another wolf's hold. I was breathing hard in anger.

"Alpha control. We are surrounded by humans." Leo reminded me and David also agreed with him. I tried to close my eyes and control Ross, but it was getting harder for me. I crushed the Sprite bottle with my hand and its glasses stabbed my palm. Blood was flowing from my hand, but I did not feel any pain. My eyes were fixed on both of them. My legs automatically started to walk towards them to tear both of them apart.

"Asher no." David said and Leo tried to grab my hand, but I pushed both of them away. Ross was on the surface and in a few seconds he was going to tear apart this unknown wolf that was touching Bella.

Third Person P.O.V:

Both Leo and David were getting nervous seeing Asher out of control, but so were Lily and Victoria. Everyone had an idea of what was going to happen next. Victoria, David, Lily and Leo all looked at each other in panic and then the girls ran towards Bella and Jesse before it was too late.

"Bella, Why don't we sit and talk?" Victoria and Lily urged as they pulled Bella back from Jesse's grip. Before Asher could push Jesse or did anything more that could harm him. Bella's back hit Asher's chest and he held her waist quickly, not letting her fall. He closed his eyes immediately trying to control himself, having Bella in his arms and inhaling her scent was helping to calm Ross.

As Asher touched Bella, she realized all the emotions rampaging inside of him. She recognized that his wolf had gotten out of his control. If he were to transform into his wolf, then all the people here would know about him, about werewolves. She did not try to move from his grip at all, she just stood there allowing him to hold her. Jesse was looking at the two of them and found out that the man standing behind Bella was none other than her mate who was now out of control as he hugged her.

He was watching Bella who was letting Asher touch her as it also proved that he is her mate. She never liked anyone's touch. Jesse smiled to see her with her mate, but what was surprising as her mate was an alpha. Bella had never told him about finding her mate. She was wisely trying to calm him down with her wolf. Leo, Lily, David and Victoria were all looking at the powerful couple in front of them, who were looking so beautiful together.

Leo quickly clicked a photo of them together, Lily noticed him doing this. Asher opened his eyes. They were now back to his normal blue color, but he still did not move his arms from around Bella's waist. Bella had also opened her eyes having realized that now the danger had passed.

"Let's go, Jesse." Bella said, smiled and moved away from Asher. Jesse heard the growl that had escaped from Asher directed at him. He was getting angry once again that Bella was holding Jesse's hand.

"Bella, is it ok for you to hold my hand in front of your mate? He was looking at me like he would like to kill me. He is an Alpha and there is no doubt in my mind that he would do it!" Jesse whispered to Bella.

"Ignore him." Bella replied, making Asher furious as hell as he could hear the entire conversation. Leo and David could feel the tension in the air as their Alpha's eyes were fixed on Bella and only Bella, who was continuously ignoring him and smiling at the unknown wolf. They all were sitting in the area outside of the canteen. Jesse was surrounded by all the hot girls.

"Why don't you introduce us to your handsome friend." Victoria said to Bella, poking her.

"This is Jesse, my old friend. We used to study at the same school, then I had to move and change schools four months ago." Bella filled in Lily and Victoria.

"Well, I think Jesse likes you as his eyes have not left you for a second." Lily giggled, causing Jesse to blush. He did not deny that he liked her. Bella only rolled her eyes as she already knew he liked her. They were all laughing and talking, forgetting the fact that at the other table a few feet away the boys could hear them.

"He is a Beta." David suddenly announced, as his eyes were fixed on Victoria who was looking very interested in Jesse. The visitor had a bunch of flowers and it was obvious that he brought this bouquet for Bella.

"I did not know that I would meet three beautiful girls at the same place, so now my heart is hopelessly lost. I cannot give these roses only to Bella, but all you girls deserve these." Jesse flirted, picking three flowers from his bouquet. He gave a rose each to Victoria, Lilly and then Bella. Leo and David's eyes were fixed on Lily and Victoria who were jumping to get the flower from the handsome boy.

"It's really beautiful. Thank you very much, Jesse." Lily praised and Leo saw her eyes shining at receiving that rose. Suddenly Lily felt cold and lifted her eyes. She looked at Leo who was glaring at her coldly, as he was indirectly asking her not to take the flower from him. She immediately removed her eyes from him in panic.

"What's wrong with him? He doesn't even recognize its beauty. He must be think that it's dumb." Lily mumbled to herself, but Victoria heard her. She looked at Leo, at the same time she couldn't help but let her eyes move to David who again removed graze from her. She smiled sadly. "What's wrong Victoria?" Jesse asked, holding her hand.

"Nothing, I am just happy to get this flower from the younger one. It is so beautiful and unexpected that I am getting flowers openly as you are not my student. It is a good feeling." Victoria answered, with a little laugh while looking at David.

"Oh my God, I still cannot believe that you came here to see me. You drove for so long and far." Bella exclaimed. Jesse turned his head to her, showing how interested he was in her. Asher could not stand it anymore as Ross was again going to break free of his control. He walked out of the canteen swiftly. Leo followed him, David was the only one who was there left to watch. He also got up, after observing Victoria's rose, he also walked out of there.

Asher entered the garden alone, having stopped Leo from following him there. He wanted to be there alone. That was when he noticed the rose bush and it had a single beautiful red rose. Touching it softly he was thinking about the smiling face of Bella when she was looking at the rose. It seemed she liked roses. All the girls like roses. Before he could think better of it he extended a single claw allowing him to pluck the beautiful bloom. He then pulled out his phone to message Bella.

"Bella..." He only typed her name and could not write to 'Come to me'. He sat on the grass looking at the half written message.

"What the hell am I doing?" He asked himself, closing his eyes and throwing the phone beside him in the grass. Suddenly he got a call from Bella and got up from the ground in shock. He was not expecting that she would call him after what had happened in the library. His heart was beating so fast as he answered the call. As he was about to say hello when he heard Jesse's voice, not Bella's.

"Let's spend a night together, Bella." Jesse said to Bella, Asher clearly heard his every word. They were going to spend the night together. He wanted to hear her reply. What she would say.

"Yeah sure." She replied and Asher's phone slipped from his hand. They will spend the night together. Ross had also heard it.

"Yeah sure, we all will join you." Bella replied and Jesse smiled to hear. He looked at Bella's phone which was in his hand seeing that Asher had already cut the call. Jesse had seen his message and he was the one who called Asher. Bella was unaware of this as she went to buy some drinks for everyone. As he was expecting Asher had cut the call. Bella gave the drink to Jesse.

"Lily is good at choosing the place..." Bella was still talking and he was lost in her words when he suddenly interrupted her.

"Do you love him?" Jesse asked Bella. Who had stopped speaking in order to hear him.

"Who?" Bella inquired trying to play dumb as if she wasn't aware who he was refering to. While she toyed with her drink.

"Your mate, Your Alpha." Jesse clarified. At that moment Bella felt like something was wrong. Her wolf was acting strangely and Bella was feeling restless. She abruptly got up from her seat and ran towards the classroom. Lily and Victoria were confused by her behavior, but Jesse smiled at the sight of her running. He may have not gotten his reply in words but her actions were speaking volumes. He was happy that she had found her mate, but at the same time he had to lay to rest all hope of ever becoming Bella's chosen mate. Now she had her fated mate. He handed Bella's phone over to Lily.

"My work here is done. Now I think I should leave. Tell Bella not to forget me." Jesse said, Lily only nodded her head. Bella had almost made it to the Gym when she heard a growl. Her feet stopped in their tracks as she heard a wolf growling and Leo came out of the

room.

"Luna! Please help!" He begged in panic.

"What's wrong? I heard a growl." Bella replied.

"I don't know what happened to him, it happened out of nowhere. But you are the only one who can calm him otherwise his growl will be heard by the whole school." Leo filled her in, leaving everything in Bella's hands. She again began to move towards the gym as she entered the room her eyes met with Asher's wolf form. Now she understood why Lena had been acting weird. He was in his wolf form, angry, crazy and the door to the gym left was wide open. Anyone who was passing by could see him.

She swiftly closed the doors and turned back to him. He had lost control in his fury and appeared completely unstable. Why was he so furious? Bella thought as she watched him. This was the first time she had seen his wolf. He was huge and pure white, she had a strong urge to run her hands through his fur to learn how soft it was to her touch. She saw him ambling towards her, for the first time since they had met she was seeing an Alpha before her. His aura had filled the whole room with his ire. She slowly started to back away in dismay, but the doors were closed and she could not open them now. Ross had made his way closer to Bella and was standing next to her, looking down at her. He rubbed his head against her head and neck scenting her. She slowly sat on her knees and extended her arms to his wolf offering comfort. Ross's fury began to dissipate with every stroke of her hand through his fur and cuddle he received. She sat leaning back against the door while he kept his head on her lap.

It was already evening and school was over for the day, yet she was still there. She kept her hands in his soft fun to calm him. While comforting him, she had closed her eyes enveloped by his addictive citrus and sage scent, letting it lull her to sleep there on the gym floor. Asher sat there watching her sleeping for a long time, as he had already turned back into his human form, but she had not stirred. He moved away from her lap and drifted closer to her face. She was sleeping deeply, forgetting that she was still in school and alone with Asher. Tugging the red rose that he had plucked for her earlier placing it in her hair, he moved closer to her lips.

"Happy rose day..." Asher whispered, softly kissing her lips without waking her. Hugging her tightly and cradling her head on his chest, they both slept there spending the whole night together in the gym.
