Whispers Turn to Whimpers: Could He Ever Change? -
Chapter 1030
"By the way," Gilbert seized the moment to bring up a topic with her.
"Have you thought about registering Jenna for citizenship?" he inquired.
The mention of this... Sherilyn paused, a slight crease forming between her brows.
She hadn't really decided yet. Registering Jenna would legally make Gilbert her primary guardian...
Seeing her expression, Gilbert knew what was troubling her.
He wasn't in a rush, gently persuading her, "Jenna's my daughter, and naturally, I want to give her the best education possible. You want the same, don't you?" Indeed, Jenna could still attend public school without being enrolled in a private, elite institution.
But with a better option available, why settle for less?
"..." Sherilyn hesitated, unable to make up her mind, "I'll think it over."
Gilbert nodded silently, then suggested, "How about this, let's visit James's school together?"
"Is that possible?" Sherilyn's eyes sparkled with a hint of anticipation.
"Of course," Gilbert smiled, "If you're willing, shall I make the arrangements?"
"Yes, that would be great."
Sherilyn had a light schedule that day, with some free time from noon to the afternoon.
They agreed to take advantage of this break to visit the school.
In the morning, after Sherilyn finished her scenes, she was accompanied by Candida, along with two male bodyguards, to the Harrison Group.
It was her first visit to the Harrison Group.
Per Gilbert's instructions, Sherilyn had a smooth journey and easily made it to the CEO's office.
"Ms. Gomez, right this way, please."
Candida tactfully didn't follow her in.
Sherilyn pushed the door open and stepped inside.
"Oh my..."
Upon entering, she was greeted by a saccharine voice.
So overly sweet and coquettish, "Have you lost all your manners? I came to see you personally, and you're still playing hard to get?" Glancing up.
Behind the large desk, Gilbert was

Sherilyn quickly looked away.
Frowning, she wondered if this was a bad time.
"Mrs. Robinson..."
Gilbert leaned back in an attempt to distance himself, "Haven't I myself clear? I'm busy, I another appointment..." (

"What appointment?"
Callie Robinson didn't believe him, smirking, Just your excuse to brush me off don't care, you're having lunch with me today! I've already made reservations!"
"I won't go..."
Gilbert, visibly annoyed, caught Sherilyn's eye.
"Sherilyn..."
Sherilyn stiffened, then abruptly turned to leave.
"Sherilyn!"
Gilbert, in a panic, pushed Callie aside and quickly followed her.
With his tall frame, he caught up in a few strides, grabbing Sherilyn's wrist, "You're here."
Sherilyn looked up, her gaze cold, "Bad timing."
"...." Gilbert paused, then gently pulled her closer, whispering an explanation.
"Callie came on her own... I didn't know she was coming. I was waiting for you."
He looked at her tense face, his voice becoming even softer.
"Didn't you hear? I turned her down..."
Sherilyn remained silent.
The sound of crisp footsteps echoed as Callie emerged, arms crossed and eyes sweeping over Sherilyn with defiance.
Her words were directed at Gilbert, "So, it was her you had plans with."
"Yes," Gilbert nodded, his brows slightly raised, "Can you leave now?"
"Since you're busy... fine." Callie shrugged, her laugh tinged with mockery, "I'll come back another time."
She gave Gilbert a wink, "I just love you! I won't give up that easily!"
