Whispers Turn to Whimpers: Could He Ever Change? -
Chapter 1020
Suddenly remembering something, Naylor turned to Sherilyn, his tone laden with accusation. "He had surgery before, didn't he? Was there no follow-up?" "There was," came the response.
Before Sherilyn could reply, the chief doctor spoke up, "Mr. Harrison had his regular check-ups..."
"How could things have gotten this bad?" Naylor couldn't fathom the outcome.
"Mr. Harrison's last check-up was a month ago, and nothing unusual was found," the chief doctor explained, "But things can change rapidly within a month..." "Cut the crap!"
Naylor snapped, unable to contain his frustration, "What I want to know is, is my son going to be okay?"
Sherilyn, equally concerned, held her breath, not missing a beat as she stared at the doctor.
The chief doctor felt the pressure, "It's hard to say..."
"What do you mean 'hard to say'?"
Naylor's patience was wearing thin, his temper flaring, "What are the treatment options? What are the chances of recovery? Speak plainly!"
His gaze was piercing, "If you can't handle it, maybe you shouldn't be a doctor at all!"
The chief doctor, breaking into a cold sweat, tried to remain calm.
He explained in detail, "For treatment, we have two options: surgery or conservative management."
"The shadow isn't too large, but it's in a tricky location, surrounded by nerves and blood vessels, making surgery risky..."
"Conservative treatment would involve medication to stop the bleeding, along with efforts to solidify and dissolve the clot, but there's no guarantee it will be under control." Taking a deep breath, the chief doctor continued, "It's up to you, Mr. Harrison, to decide which route to take."
The room fell silent.
Naylor's lips were sealed tight, not uttering a word.
How was he to decide? Neither option came with the assurance that his son would be safe!
Poor him, at his age, thinking he had no successor, only to have finally found a worthy son... Only for disaster to strike!
Was this some divine sign that the Harrison family was doomed?
After a long silence, Naylor turned to Sherilyn, his brows knitted, seeking her opinion.
"What do you think?"
Sherilyn was taken aback, not expecting to be asked.
But like Naylor, she was indecisive. Both options seemed fraught with danger.
Sherilyn, her face pale, shook her head.
She then turned to the chief doctor
and the other medical staff, "Chief
you're the experts. Can you off ret
us
some advice?"
SV
Her tone was much gentler, giving the chief doctor a moment of relief.
He glanced at Naylor, who showed no objection, before saying, "Based on our professional opinion, we recommend starting with conservative treatment. The clot isn't too large yet, and if we can manage it, it's less risky than surgery."
"During treatment, we'll monitor the clot weekly. If the situation doesn't improve, we can consider surgery."
After finishing, he looked at the two of them.
"What do you think?"
Naylor exchanged glances with Sherilyn, both still unsure.
The chief doctor suggested, "Take some time to think it over. Maybe discuss it with Mr. Harrison himself
before making a decision
This was something they couldn't keep from Gilbert.
Whichever path they chose, they needed his cooperation, and his input was crucial. Naylor stood up, "Then we'll wait for Nine to wake up and ask him what he wants." "No need to wait..."
At the office door, Gilbert, supported by Charles, was making his way in.
