When We Meet Again -
Chapter 52
A FEW MONTHS LATER
Charlotte walked into her fashion house and was greeted by some of the staff. She greeted them with a smile, waving at some. As she headed to her office, Gina, her assistant joined her. "Good morning, ma'am" Gina greeted Charlotte with a smile.
"Good morning, Gina. What are my schedules for today?"
"Ma'am, you don't have much to do today. You are having a meeting by nine, another by eleven, and the last one by twelve. Do you want any meeting shifted?"
"No. How many minutes do I have before the first meeting?" Charlotte asked.
"less than an hour?"
"Where is the first meeting taking place?"
"In your office. They should be here before nine."
Charlotte nodded. "And the other two meetings?"
"The meeting at eleven will take place in a restaurant. You will be meeting with the manager of Pinky Klothings. For the last meeting, I haven't confirmed where it will take place." Charlotte sighed. "Is Bella here yet?"
"No. She has a meeting with a client. She should be back in three hours."
"I should be in a meeting then, right?"
Gina nodded. "Yes, ma'am."
"Then I might have to see her after my second meeting ends". Charlotte walked into the office and sat down. "Let her know I want to see her, okay? So she doesn't leave before I return." Gina nodded. "Yes, ma'am. Should I get you, your coffee now?"
"Yes, please. Thank you."
Gina left the office to get Charlotte a cup of coffee. Charlotte picked up the files on the table and opened them one after the other, endorsing her signature where necessary. Gina walked in a few minutes later. "Here is your coffee, ma'am"
Charlotte took the coffee from her and sipped from it, before dropping it on the table.
"Is there anything else you want to tell me?"
"No, ma'am," Gina answered.
Charlotte smiled. "Then you can leave, Gina. Make sure you are back ten minutes before the meeting starts". Gina nodded and turned to leave but stopped. Charlotte stared at her. "Did you remember something?"
She nodded and walked closer to Charlotte's table. "You had a call this morning."
Charlotte furrowed her brows. "A call? From who?"
"He did not say his name" Gina answered.
Charlotte raised her brows. "He gave no name?". Gina nodded and Charlotte frowned. Who does not give a name when calling a company unless he or she has a hidden agenda? "Then what did he say?" "He said he has a proposal for our fashion house."
Charlotte scoffed. "A proposal? Is that all he said?"
Gina nodded. "He asked you to call him for further information."
"Me?" Charlotte asked and Gina nodded.
Why would she be the one to call him? Charlotte wondered.
"I think he is a fraud," she answered.
Gina furrowed her brows. "A fraud?" she asked and Charlotte nodded. "He sounded serious though. I think he wants to partner with us."
"No matter how serious or urgent his proposal is, he should be the one to call me and give full details on what he has for us, not the other way around. Do you understand?" Gina nodded." Good. You can go back to work " Gina left Charlotte's office and Charlotte began to prepare for her meeting.
**
Charlotte had just returned from her last meeting and was going through a few files when Bella walked, with a smile on. Charlotte kept the file in her hand on the table and clasped her hands together, placing her chin on it. "Someone seems to be in a good mood," she said, smiling back at Bella.
"I think we've got a big hit," Bella said.
Charlotte furrowed her brows. "What are you talking about?"
Bella walked quickly to the chair opposite Charlotte's and sat down.
"We might be partnering up with a very big company soon."
Charlotte released her hands and rested backward. "Can you be more precise? I still don't get it."
"There is this company that wants to start a fashion company and they want to partner with a fashion house in the rural area. I dropped our portfolios. They should be calling us soon."
Charlotte blinked. "You did? Are you sure they will call us soon?"
Bella nodded. "Very soon. I am surprised they haven't called yet. I received an email that they love our work. They asked for the CEO officer number and I sent it to them. You haven't received any calls yet. Have you?" Charlotte shrugged. "I haven't...". Realizing that Bella might be talking about the call Gina brought for her some hours ago, Charlotte groaned slightly. "I think I had a call. But it doesn't seem like the one you are talking about." "What was the call about?"
"Some random guy asked me to call him for some business," Charlotte answered.
Bella furrowed her brows. "Did he say the kind of business?"
"Gina was the one who picked up the call not me. He asked that I call him but I am not doing that."
"How about you call him? He might be from the company," Bella said.
"I don't think..."
Gina walked into the office. "You have a call, ma'am. From the same man, I told you about. I told him to call back in thirty minutes. I will connect him to the office. Wanted you to know first."
"You see, he is calling again," Charlotte said. "Gina, speak to him and tell him if he has any business proposal, he should contact the right source, not me."
"I think you should speak to him yourself," Bella said.
"It is not my job to do that. He should talk to you not me."
"Gina, connect him to the office. I will speak to him," Bella said.
Gina nodded. "Yes, ma'am"
"And next time, you don't have to come to the office. You can just place a call instead," Bella corrected. "There are also some documents you have to work on again. That is not the right way to work on a document." Gina nodded. "Okay, ma'am."
After Gina left, Charlotte smiled. "Did someone remember when she was a secretary?"
Bella smiled. "Of course I do."
"Do you miss being one?"
Bella nodded. "Sure. Now back to our conversation. Don't you think it will be best if you talk to him?"
Charlotte shook her head. "I do not see the reason why I should."
Bella sighed. "I guess so. You said you wanted to see me."
Charlotte nodded. "I almost forgot about that. Gina told me you went to meet a client?"
Bella nodded. "Yes. He wants to talk about opening up a fashion school. And he wants me to be in charge of it."
"What do you think about it?" Charlotte asked.
"It's a good idea. It has always been my dream."
"Are you taking up the offer? He is a good investor."
Bella raised her brows. "Did you make him contact me?"
"Me? Of course not. I just thought..."
Bella smiled. "You did!"
"I did not," Charlotte denied.
"I know you did. Thank you so much, Charlotte."
Charlotte smiled. "You left your dream to fulfill mine. I think it is time you focus on your dream. And I will support you."
"Thank you, Charlotte."
"Can you stop thanking me? You have proven to be more than a sister to me. I am so happy you are thinking of taking up the offer."
"When I spoke to him, I realized he had good intentions. So I thought about speaking to you first. Never knew you were the one behind it.". Bella sniffed. "I feel so happy right now."
"Don't tell me you are crying?" Charlotte asked.
Bella blinked away the tear. "No, I am not."
"Do you want me to cry too?" Charlotte asked.
Bella dried her face with the wipe on the table. "I won't cry anymore."
"Do you still have your plan intact?"
Bella nodded. "Yes, but I might be changing the plans now". Charlotte furrowed my brows. "Working together with you, I have learned a lot. I will be drafting out a new idea. You will have to help me out, Miss CEO." Charlotte chuckled. "Of course, I will. I think it is a good idea."
Bella nodded. "And I will be partnering with you."
Charlotte smiled. "It will be my pleasure to be your partner."
Bella smiled. "Thank you once more, Charlotte."
"You are welcome, Bella."
