True Love
Chapter 7

-He really was too handsome a boy, Sher….

-Eve, please, we are not for boys.

-Of course we are, don’t you want to get married? Have children? Start a family with a good man?

-Of course I do, but we don’t have time for that now, not with so many problems.

-You just haven’t met the right guy, but when that happens you’ll see what I’m talking about.

It was funny, she talked as if she had a lot of experience in love. She could tell him some things about love and the reality was that it was too painful, it hurt like never before. She had simply met a boy in the park who flirted with her and already because of that she thought love was beautiful.

She had never experienced real love, her own parents never gave it to her when she was a little girl, only suffering, what could she expect from a stranger?

-You must relax Eve, he was just a boy, you are not going to marry him.

-He seemed very interested in me. She said raising her eyebrow.

They almost arrived at the house, as every night they crossed their fingers that no one was there, not even her father. The next day they had school, but she would no longer be attending. She hadn’t mentioned it to her sister yet, but she would be leaving school in two days at the latest.

-Stop talking nonsense, we’re almost home.

-That’s not our home anymore.

-Well, whatever it is.

They went inside and it was completely silent, apparently their father wasn’t there. It was a relief, they went straight up to the bedroom and locked themselves in. There was no point in checking the kitchen because they wouldn’t find anything.

-I’m hungry Sher.

-Let’s thank Lancer for giving me food today too. He smiled and showed her the trays.

-That old man is a sweetheart. Remind me to tell him I love him.

-Sure. The girl answered him, putting a slice of pizza in her mouth.

The girls ate quietly while they chatted happily, very seldom they could do it. When the house was empty they felt a little safe. Her sister kept talking about the boy she had met, and the truth was that she had no interest in knowing anything, but that was her way….

Meanwhile in the mountains, several kilometers away from Seattle.

-Come on man, the party is sure to be a blast.

-JB I told you I’m not interested, I have better things to do.

-What do you mean?

-I’m the alpha’s son, remember? My father will be away for a few days, I have to take care of some things.

-All right, that’s all I’m saying. It’s unbelievable that you let me go alone, brother. He said disappointed as they walked back home.

-Where do you two plan to go?

The young men turned to see a very petite girl, of average height, black hair, her eyes were like a cat’s, her body was well formed for a hundred years old. She was dressed in her school uniform, a brown skirt with thick pleats exposing much of her legs, paired with a white three-quarter length shirt. The skirt had straps that crossed over her shirt, while she wore black shoes with low heels, high white stockings.

-Hi sis. Said Ethan lighting up his face, his sister was very similar to him, so he was very jealous.

She ran up to him, to hug him as if they had never met.

-Hello silly.

-What are you doing here little girl?

-I know this is the route you always take so I decided to meet you so we could go home together, ah, hi JB!

She said to the young man without much encouragement, with so much indifference that Ethan was surprised.

-What’s up Megan. She didn’t even look at him, she only had eyes for her brother.

-Well, since you’re here, let’s go home.

-Are you planning to go out tonight? Dad’s not home.

-I’m staying with you.

The brothers lived with their father the alpha, their mother had been brutally killed by wild wolves when she took a shortcut back home, she was alone, she was a strong wolf but it had been many wolves that attacked her.

By the time they found her she was still alive, the matriarch did everything she could to save her but she did not make it through the night. Since then she never let Megan walk alone in the forest, she knew that she had only been a year since she had been transformed. He had told her that her wolf was called Clara and that she was very strong and brave. But he didn’t trust her, she was just a puppy, an easy prey.

-I’m glad to hear that, you have responsibilities, it’s not for you to be going out partying. She said looking sideways at JB.

-Calm down. Said her brother hugging her by the shoulders as he laughed.

-I think I’ll go home Ethan.

-Why? You said you’d be home for a while.

-Hmm… I looked at Megan for a moment and she was looking at him with hatred.

-Yes Ethan, can’t you see she’s in a hurry to run off to her party. Megan exclaimed sarcastically.

-Whatever! They both shook hands, Ethan watched as JB left, turning into a wolf and disappearing down a road that led to his house.

They lived a bit far away, but at the same time not far enough for him to transform. Any wolf did it when they were in danger, when they needed to get somewhere fast, when the stress is too much and they need to release all that energy, or, it was funny this part but, many times they did it to show off in front of a girl, to demonstrate their power as a male. He looked at his sister who was also looking in the same direction.

-You must stop bothering JB.

-I’m sorry, yes, but I think he’s a very irresponsible person.

-He’s still young.

-You two are the same age, and you are already much more mature. Besides, he is the Beta’s son, why doesn’t he behave like one? he said, pouting.

-It’s just the way he is, at some point he’ll take over.

He could not say much, since he also did very reckless things that were not worthy of a future alpha. Like going down to the village without permission, and interacting with ordinary humans.

-Well, he should be thinking about it, in a couple of years they will both take the jobs of leaders. We can’t depend on a partying Beta.

-Yes, you’re right, don’t worry, he already knows what his duty is. That’s why he enjoys it now while he can.

-Why do you defend him so much?

-Why do you hate him so much? -You know he’s my best friend. You know he’s my best friend.

-That has nothing to do with it.

Her sister could be very spoiled when she wanted to be, she was always picking on JB, well in fact since she transformed she was bothering him even more, did she like him?

It was very normal that it happened, besides, he was the son of a Beta, it was more than possible. But if it was the case he would have told her already since she told him everything about her life. The only thing she hadn’t told him was if she had found her mate, he was already a long time ago, maybe it was JB and she didn’t want to tell him because they were friends.

-Hey, you still haven’t found your mate?

-What kind of question is that?

-Don’t answer me with another question.

-That’s not your problem.

-I thought you were telling me everything about your life.

-You see, not everything.

She ran upstairs with strong steps, she was very stubborn, she looked like her mother.

– “Leave her alone.” His wolf told him.

– “She’s my sister I worry about.”

– “I remind you that she’s mine too, but that doesn’t mean she has to be overwhelmed.”

– “Don’t you think it’s weird that she hates JB?”

– “Yes but remember he is somewhat irresponsible, Megan just wants you to be a good leader for the pack.”

– “I know, I want to be one too.”

Dom was the name of her wolf, a very wise one, and all this was because he had confessed to her that he was the wolf of one of her ancestors. A great warrior and a good alpha, he had chosen him because he saw great courage in his heart, he feared nothing and would be willing to give his life for his pack.

– “And you will be Ethan, you just have to follow your instincts.”

– “I’m trying but, for what I wish, it hasn’t worked.”

– “But it will pay off.”

His wolf was totally jet black, he was strong, cunning and always guided him on the right path. They both connected at the moment of his transformation, by the time he confessed the truth to her he made her promise not to tell anyone, including his name. And so he had done for all those years.

Once at home, behind her father’s couch in his soon-to-be office. He was flipping through some documents that dealt with the union of the Blue Moon pack and the White Wolf pack.
