True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) -
Chapter 904
Heinz naturally understood Grace's good intentions.
He nodded at Grace. "I don't have to take extreme measures with him. I know I should let bygones be bygones. But he might not know that. Until now, he hasn't shown his sincerity. How can I let him do whatever he wants so easily?"
That was right.
Grace understood Heinz's feelings. It was ridiculous for Lawrence to be that way, and he was not sincere at all.
Not to mention that he was Heinz's father.
If a father could be so cruel to his children, how could he expect his children to be kind to him?
Grace didn't know what to say.
Alice understood what Grace meant. She didn't want to be too stiff, but she was angry. So, she expressed her opinion, "Grace, I think you have to believe in Heinz. He will definitely handle it well. People say we should forgive and forget, but if you keep forgiving when the other person has yet to give in, they might think you're afraid of them."
Grace looked at Alice. "I know what you mean. So, when it comes to Jensen's mother, you've also gotten a hold of things. Does his mother not call you anymore since finding out that you've gotten your marriage certificate?"
When the topic came to Rosalie, Alice instantly gave in.
She immediately slumped her shoulders and said in a crestfallen fashion, "Grace, can you not bring that up? I really feel very helpless. His mother just won't accept me. Last night, she even called and scolded Jensen. No matter what, as long as he is with me, it isn't okay."
Grace felt helpless too. She didn't want Alice to get bullied. "What was Jensen's reaction?"
"Of course he defended me!" She thought of Jensen, who stubbornly defended her. "Grace, he's not a coward. He knows to protect me, but I feel very helpless. If his mother won't accept me, I won't have any sense of accomplishment either."
"His mother has driven herself into a hole," Heinz said. "The way I see it, it's been so long and you still can't get her to accept you, so there's no need to keep putting in effort. Let nature take its course." Grace frowned and was a little worried. "Heinz, are you saying that his mother will never accept Alice?"
"Probably not in the near future, but I don't know what will happen in the long run. Maybe after having children, she will take the initiative to look for them." Heinz felt that Rosalie was not someone who easily changed her mind.
"What do we do then? Will Alice have to live through a marriage that Jensen's mother rejects?" Grace asked with worry.
"Don't worry," Heinz comforted her. "The key is Jensen. It's Alice and Jensen who will be together for the rest of their lives, not his mother."
"So for now, I'll just pretend that I don't know a thing. Even if his mother is scolding me, I'll just let it go in one ear and out the other. I'm thick-skinned anyway, so I'm sure that I can hold on until the calm after the storm," Alice said.
"Yes, that's it." Heinz said, "What are you afraid of? You're my sister-in-law now, and the daughter of the Smith family. Even if the Smith Group falls, it won't take too hard of a hit. Jensen is a policeman. It's a good job, if not for the fact that his salary is too low. He can only rely on you. In other words, you'll have to be the breadwinner."
After saying that, Heinz couldn't help laughing. "As long as Jensen isn't the breadwinner, his mother won't be able to lift her head. You will always have the upper hand. Once you give birth to a child, they will eventually accept you."
"The breadwinner?" Alice mumbled as she looked at the smile on Heinz's lips. Although she understood that Heinz did not have any ill intentions, she still felt that there was a sinister playfulness hidden in his voice.
"Yes, I'll arrange for you to join the Smith Group one of these days. With the support of the Jones Estate and your sister, you'll be the president of the Smith Group. Then, you'll have financial stability. Are you afraid of having no status?"
"Heinz, no matter how high my status is, I should respect my elders." Alice sighed. "If I don't respect my mother-in-law, won't I get laughed at?"
"It's not that I don't want you to respect her. I want you to keep a distance from her. Do you understand?" Heinz said. "If you take the trouble to suck up to your mother-in-law, you'll be equally humiliated. It's better to ignore."
Alice sighed. "As if I could have such a good mindset."
"Living peacefully is alright," Grace said. "If she doesn't mess with you, you won't mess with her either. If she provokes you, just bear with it. If you can't bear it, then don't."
"It's best to let Jensen deal with it," Heinz said. "It's better for Jensen to deal with this kind of thing. Otherwise, it will be awkward."
"Yes." Alice nodded thoughtfully.
Relationships between a mother-in-law and daughter-in-law have always been difficult. She did not want to cross the line. She hoped Rosalie would not go too far.
The car arrived home in a flash.
Heinz got out of the car first and stood by the door to support Grace.
"I can do it myself," Grace said.
"I'll hold you. You have to be careful in the future," Heinz said. "I wasn't with you the first time you went through pregnancy. Now, I'll be with you from the start until you give birth. Then, we'll raise the child together."
Glancing at him, she met his deep, gentle, and bone-piercing gaze.
With a quiver in Grace's heart, she smiled and allowed him to support her.
Alice hurriedly followed them out of the car, too.
At this moment, the butler immediately came up and said, "Mr. Heinz, Officer Charm's mother is here."
Heinz was stunned. He frowned and said, "When did she come?"
"Twenty minutes ago," said the butler. "She's waiting in the living room. Since it's Officer
Charm's mother, I invited her to wait in the living room."
Heinz frowned. "It looks like she came here because she couldn't find anyone in the Hart Villa District."
The butler was very smart. As soon as he heard what Heinz said, he immediately understood. "Sir, if you don't want to see her, I will ask her to leave."
Heinz raised his eyebrows and said, "How can I not see her? She is Jensen's mother. Jensen is my good friend, and now he's my brother-in-law. I will meet her for the sake of Uncle Charm and Jensen." Moreover, since she was already there, she must have come to see either him or Alice.
The butler nodded. "Mrs. Charm said she wants to see you."
"Okay." Heinz nodded heartily.
He turned his eyes to Alice and saw that her face was pale. She looked slightly worried.
Heinz immediately said, "Butler, take Alice and Grace in through the back door. Alice, support your sister. Don't come out without my order."
"Yes." Alice nodded immediately. "I understand, Heinz. Don't worry."
Alice supported Grace and was about to leave.
Suddenly, Rosalie's sharp voice came from the door. "Heinz, you're all back. Since you're back, come on. I'm here because I want to see Alice and Miss Smith."
