True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) -
Chapter 1431
"Mr. Quartley, are you really willing to let things be like this?" Janice called Flynt and asked, "Do you want to cooperate with me?" "Miss Simpson, don't do this." Flynt's voice was very low. "Where are you?"
"The hotel, of course." Janice said, "Don't do this? I haven't even done anything. Don't you also have feelings for Celeste too?"
"Why don't you come out." Flynt said, "I'm in a car outside your hotel."
"Okay, I'll be there." Janice smiled faintly, and there was a hint of smugness in her eyes. In her opinion, Flynt was in the same boat as her.
The person they fancied did not feel the same for them, and only those who had unrequited feelings knew this feeling well.
Janice soon found Flynt, and she immediately got into the car. She smiled at him after she closed the door.
"Mr. Quartley, you're here because you're still reluctant to give up, aren't you?"
Flynt frowned slightly. He wanted to say something, but Janice once again interrupted him, "Don't deny in such a hurry. You being here is the best proof of that."
He glanced in the direction of the hotel before he turned back to look at Janice, who was smiling. A hint of mockery flashed across his cold face. He said, "I am not as shameless as you."
"Mr. Quartley, if you like someone, you have to go all out. Otherwise, how will that person know?" Janice wanted to persuade Flynt.
However, it was evident that Flynt was not one to be easily convinced. He pursed his lips and said, "No one's stopping you from liking Gary, but if you're still trying to hurt Celeste after knowing they're together, I won't let this slide."
Janice laughed in response. "Mr. Quartley, you're the giving type, huh? You're willing to sacrifice yourself for the sake of others."
"That's none of your business." Flynt said lightly, "You've kept going on about this over the past few days. Don't think I don't know what you're up to. If I were you, I'd watch out."
Janice's tone was filled with regret. "It seems that you're not here to work with me. What a shame."
"You can scram now." Flynt didn't want to waste any more time with Janice.
Janice smiled and said, "You wanna know something? They were together last night. The entire night."
Flynt's expression froze; pain flashed across his eyes.
"Do you know what I mean?" Janice said with a sly smile, "Sex, you know? They slept together the entire night. They've long consummated their relationship." "F*ck off," Flynt cursed.
Janice shrugged and said, "In that case, I wish you all the best, Mr. Quartley."
She no longer pestered him and got out of the car.
Flynt's car stayed stationary for a long time.
At this moment, Gary and Celeste had already checked out of the hotel and were ready to leave.
After they exited the building, Gary drove over and prepared to put their luggage in the trunk.
It was also then that Flynt got out of the car and walked toward them.
Just as the luggage was stowed away, Celeste saw Flynt. After a second of a stump, she called to him, "Flynt!"
In fact, after that day at Princes Street Gardens, she called him and explained the situation to him, as well as her relationship with Gary and that they had a fight. Flynt said nothing at the time; it was normal for couples to quarrel.
"Celeste." Flynt nodded slightly, looking at her as he said, "Are you two leaving already?"
"That's right." She nodded.
Meanwhile, Gary made his way over to them. Looking at him, he raised his eyebrows and possessively held Celeste in his arms by the waist.
"Mr. Quartley, what a coincidence. Are you here to send us off?" Gary asked in a rather hostile tone.
After all, love rivals never saw eye to eye.
Flynt merely glanced at Gary and said, "Celeste, why don't you get in the car first. I need to talk to your boyfriend."
Taken aback, Celeste was a little uncertain about Flynt's intentions.
However, Gary said, "Sure. Celeste, wait in the car."
Hence, she had no choice but to do so.
Flynt looked at Gary and said, "Let's go somewhere a little further. There are some things I don't want Celeste to hear."
"Sure." Gary didn't refuse; they stepped some distance away from the car. "Go ahead, Mr. Quartley. What do you want to tell me?" "You're inexplicably hostile toward me." Flynt smiled as he glanced at Gary. "Don't deny it. I understand how you feel. I'd also be hostile toward any man who's after my girlfriend if I were you."
"You're quite frank, aren't you?" Gary smiled. Flynt's words made him look straight at him.
"Celeste doesn't know my feelings for her." Flynt said bluntly, "And I have no intentions of letting her know either." "Then why are you telling me this?"
"A warning, of course. Be nice to Celeste; don't hurt her."
"And who do you think you are to order me around?" Gary was never one to take orders from anyone.
"I'm Celeste's senior," Flynt said indifferently, "I'm just doing what I can for her happiness."
"How touching." Gary raised his eyebrows and his gaze became sharp. "How would you know how I treat Celeste?"
"Mr. Smith, you should count your blessings." Flynt was deathly serious. "If you're truly good to Celeste, you wouldn't have brought Janice here. That woman is proof that you don't care for Celeste's wellbeing." Gary frowned when Janice was brought up. "Did Celeste say something to you?"
Then, Flynt laughed sarcastically and said., "I knew it. No wonder Janice can be so bluntly confident. Looks like you really treat her differently."
"Cut that bullsh*t," Gary said coldly. "It's not going to work on me. Just say what you want to say."
In light of Gary's bristling attitude, Flynt kept his cool as he gazed at Gary. "If you really love Celeste, then ignore Janice entirely. Watch out for that woman. I'm telling you this because I care about Celeste's happiness. It's not worth it for you to lose Celeste because of Janice."
Gary's brows furrowed. "Are you sure Celeste didn't say anything to you?"
"Mr. Smith." Flynt scolded, "Are you hearing yourself? Your first reaction is to ask what Celeste said to me instead of what Janice did. Have you forgotten Janice was the one who had been following me around for the past week? That woman is insufferable."
Gary's brows twisted into a frown. "What exactly did Janice tell you?"
"It's best for you to stay away from her. I don't need to say anything else," Flynt said coldly, "I'm sure a top student like you who can graduate from university at the age of 20 can think. Don't act like an idiot." After that, Flynt walked toward the car.
Celeste got out of the car as well.
Flynt smiled at her and said, "Be careful on your way home. I'll treat you to a meal next time you're in Edinburgh."
"Thank you, Flynt. Come visit me whenever you're in Oxford. I'll treat you to a meal too," She said with a smile. "Sure." Flynt smiled and left.
He looked just like any other senior she had at school.
Staring at his retreating figure, she didn't turn around until he got in his car. After that, Celeste saw Gary looking at her.
"Let's go." She smiled sweetly and was ready to get in the car.
However, Gary's tone was filled with jealousy as he asked, "Why did you get out of the car?"
Celeste was stunned for a moment before she burst into laughter. "I won't get out of the car next time, alright?"
Gary paused, feeling a little frustrated. "Get in."
As he drove away, Flynt's words echoed in his mind. He'd warned Gary to stay away from Janice.
"What did Flynt say to you?" Celeste asked, seeing that Gary was quiet.
"Nothing. He just asked me to treat you better," Gary said indifferently.
Celeste was stunned. "Why would he say that?"
"What do you think?" Gary looked at her. His attitude and tone were much harsher than before.
Celeste shook her head and felt that it was odd. "I don't know."
Then, Gary raised his voice and commanded, "Then stay away from him. Why would a man care about a woman for no good reason?" Stunned, she asked, "Then, why do you care for Janice before?"
