"No, we won't fight him," Renee said calmly. "Plus, he has a weakness. It isn't a human, but his interest and power." Such people should be dealt with in the best way possible, but it depended on their greed and the other party's willingness to give up some interests. If their greed was too extreme, however, it would end up in a battle. The results would be uncertain.

The drive went on for a while in peace-until Liam started criticizing and doubting Justin again.

"You said you had ways to learn that Renee was in danger, but there's something I can't figure out..." After a pause, Liam's gaze turned sharp. "Why did you get involved with Xavier? He's Stefan's friend. You should be Stefan's rival in love right now."

"So?" Justin faked a smile as he looked at Liam. "Yes, I'm not close with Xavier. As for being Stefan's rival in love, what about it?"

"So... Did Xavier inform you to join the rescue or the other way around?" Liam pressed.

"Is there a difference?"

"Of course!"
