Chapter 2199

"It's because Phoenix and I share a telepathic connection!" Justin remained carefree and sounded ambiguous.

"Telepathic? Why didn't you say it was a tarot reading?" Liam glared at Justin grumpily.

"Do you take me as a kid? Stop using such a bizarre excuse! If you share that with her, you would be the one who had kids with her."

Justin's expression grew hideous because of Liam's nasty words. He complained to Renee, who was sitting beside him.

"Phoenix, your lackey is fierce as if I'm indebted to him. He and I don't hold grudges against each other. Plus, I saved him. Why does he find me an eyesore?"

"Don't take him too seriously." Renee remained indifferent. "He's just worried about me and that you might hold some bad ideas about me."

"Well, his worries aren't wrong." Justin didn't hide his feelings for Renee. "Yeah, I do have feelings for you. I wouldn't waste so much time and make such a huge effort to come here to rescue you if I don't want anything to happen between us... Now that we're talking about this, you used this team today. It's like you've used the wedding gift my grandpa gave you. Shouldn't you fulfill your obligation?"

"What obligation?" Liam said angrily. "Stop trying to trick her! No one asked you to save us. If you didn't come, someone else would. Must she take responsibility for that person too?"

"I don't know if anyone else would come, but I saved you guys. That's the reality." Justin confronted Liam icily, his smile vanishing.

"Didn't you say that she saved herself? Now, you're saying that you saved her. You're so contradictory. I'm sure you don't have any good intentions." Liam refused to give up.

It seemed like they were about to get into a fight. Renee immediately stopped them.

"Oh, stop acting like kids! We finally escaped getting killed. We should be united. Do you think our days will get better? Do you think it's easier to handle Benjamin?"

Her words silenced Liam instantly. He held his head and sighed.

"Yes, it's hard to handle him. If he gathers all the power of the fort, it'll be difficult to handle him even if there are more elite teams like this one."

He had worked for Benjamin for a while and knew that the latter could become a successful leader there because of his absolute force.

Generally, Benjamin wouldn't expose his true power. Since a major problem had occurred, he would be forced to side with either Liam or Macsen.

Macsen was Benjamin's family. One could easily deduce whom Benjamin would pick. It meant that Rence and others would have a greater battle to fight.

"We don't have to be afraid, even if he's powerful," Justin sneered; it was unknown whether Justin was confident or arrogant. "People generally come with weaknesses. I believe that this guy has his weaknesses too. All we need to do is find his weakest spot. Then, we'll defeat him without exhausting much effort."

"No, he doesn't." Liam shook his head. "Yeah, people generally come with weaknesses, but not Benjamin. Even his daughter isn't his weakness!"
