The Twin Alphas’ Fated Mate
Fated to a Fae Chapter 19

~Rhett~

We meet Max in the main area of the packhouse. He looks pissed as Kaden and Devin are trying to calm him down. He's pacing back and forth in front of them, not listening.

"They come into my pack and start demanding s**t?! They don't even know us and he brought a goddamn army!" Max yells as Kaden steps towards him.

"We will talk to him. He doesn't know that we know about the army he brought. Maybe we can talk him into leaving." Kaden says.

"No one brings an army without expecting a fight, Kaden." Max says angrily. Kaden nods and turns to us.

"Where is Selenia?" He asks.

"She's sleeping." Blake says, and Kaden shakes his head.

"Why? If we go out there without her, they will think we are hiding her. She has to be the one to tell them no." Kaden says.

"She was exhausted. She could barely keep her eyes open." I tell him. Kaden's eyes drift down to our necks.

"What the hell is that? She marked you? She's tired because you guys had s*x? Are you kidding me?" Kaden asks angrily.

"You called us after we finished. She was already in bed. What, are we just supposed to not have s*x just in case the Fire Fae show up?" Blake asks him sarcastically.

"I expect you two to be more responsible." Kaden says.

"Responsible?! Are you-" I start but I feel a hand on my back. Warm and motherly. I turn to see my mom telling me to calm down with her eyes. I relax a bit. "Sorry, Mom."

"It's okay, sweetie. I see Selenia got the spell to work on you two. Just in time. I'm glad she took my advice and did it sooner rather than later." Mom says to us as our dads join her. She turns to Kaden. "Kaden, the spell Selenia did to mark your brothers is incredibly strong. It wears you down a lot. Even if they didn't have s*x, she would still be exhausted. And this was necessary. They are all now fully mated. Their bond is complete. There's nothing Sear can do to change that. He has magic. He should understand there's no way around this. Selenia does not belong to him. She belongs here."

"We need to go out there. He's waiting for us." Max says. We all nod and head out of the door. Standing at the foot of the steps are two men. The taller one of the two stands at about 6'7. He towers over everyone else. His black hair is long and tied back in a ponytail. His grey eyes look emotionless as he stares at all of us. He has a thick black cloak pulled over his shoulders. I can see the gleam of a dagger at his hip. From what Selenia told us, he doesn't use weapons much. The shorter one is still pretty tall. Probably taller than us. And he looks very familiar. Although his long ginger hair and blue eyes are darker than hers, there's no mistaking that this man looks just like Selenia. He looks older than her, but they could definitely be related. Who the hell is that guy? Selenia's family was all killed by the Fire Fae. Maybe Sear saved one of them? But it wasn't Sear's village that killed them all, so how could he? And this happened a long time ago. Sear doesn't look that old, mid-20s maybe. He would've been a young teenager when Selenia's family was killed. And we already know from Silas that Fae age like humans, so I know Sear isn't any older than he looks.

"Where is Selenia? I know what she looks like and none of you are her." Sear says in his low voice.

"We are not just going to hand over someone from our pack to people we don't know. Especially someone who brings an entire army just to retrieve a person." Max says. Sear smirks.

"You know about my Fae outside of your borders. I assume that means you have warriors along the borders of your pack watching at all times. Smart. We are alike when it comes to protecting our lands." Sear says.

"It's common practice in werewolf packs. It's not just me. No one wants unwanted armies invading our packs." Max says. I see his jaw tick. As an Alpha, he doesn't like to be challenged and Sear is presenting a pretty big one doing this so casually.

"I'm not here to invade your land. I have no interest in werewolves or their pack life. I'm here simply to take Selenia home. She was promised to me, therefore, she is mine."

"MINE!" Blake and I growl at the same time and Sear looks at us.

"Ah, you must be the twins who have claimed my bride. I was curious as to who it was. You all look so alike, I couldn't tell who the twins were." Sear says. This takes us by surprise. How did he know Blake and I are the ones mated to Selenia? Unless he talked to Laurel about it and Laurel told him. But there's no way Laurel would have known both of us were mated to Selenia. Only Blake went to the village that day.

"Selenia doesn't belong to you. She is not your bride. She is our mate and you can't have her." Blake says, going down a few more steps till he's closer to Sear.

"Why don't you let her decide? Let her come out." Sear says.

"She's resting." Blake says.

"Why? What's wrong with her?" Sear asks.

"Nothing's wrong with her. She's perfectly fine." Blake says.

"Then why would she need to rest?" Sear questions, looking pissed off.

"Having two mates can be quite tiring." I say. Sear looks at me and I smirk, knowing he gets exactly what I mean. His jaw ticks as he looks over at the ginger guy. He must be the second in command.

"I told you we should have come earlier. Now these creatures have touched her." The ginger one says.

"Jereth, I told you we needed more time." Sear says. Jereth. So that's his name.

"Well, I gave you more time. And this is what happened. My sister got corrupted by them. Who knows what they've done to her." Jereth says angrily. Wait a minute. What did he just say?

"Did you just say....sister?" Blake asks, just as confused as me. I look over at Max. He gives me a questioning look.

"Selenia told us her entire family was killed when she was nine. She told us she was an only child. We didn't know about this." I tell him through the mind-link. Max nods.

"I'm sure by now you've been made aware of the Greythorn tradition to keep the bloodline pure." Sear says.

"I was five when Selenia was born. I didn't have my mark yet. I got it when Selenia was a few days old. I accidentally burned her on the back of her neck while I was looking at her Earth mark. Obviously finding out I was Fire Fae and burning the new baby, our parents were appalled. They dropped me off at the furthest Fire Fae village they could and never looked back. I was raised by Sear's father. But I wasn't a baby like the rest of the abandoned Greythorns. I was five. I knew who I was. Jereth Greythorn. Selenia is my baby sister."

We hear a gasp come from behind us and I turn around. Selenia is standing in the doorway. Her face is full of pure shock, tears in her eyes.

"I have a brother?"

~Selenia~

I roll over in the bed and feel for my mates, but they're not there. I sit up and look around. I don't think I slept long. The sun is still out, so night hasn't come yet. I still feel tired, but I can't sleep. I feel worried and anger, but it's not mine. It's coming from the twins. I've never experienced this. I'm used to feeling the emotions of others, but usually they're right in front of me. This I can feel when they're not even in the room.

I swing my feet off the bed and get up. I feel light-headed, probably from the spell and the amazing s*x the twins and I just had. But I need to find them. I need to see what has them so worked up.

I go to the closest and get one of the long, floor-length dresses Blake got me. It's tight around the torso and has short sleeves. I like this one because you can't tell I'm wearing nothing underneath. It's also a pretty shade of green. I slip on my little flats that Blake got me. I usually like to be barefoot, but Blake said it's not ideal here, so he got me these flats made of soft leather. They're very flexible and thin, so I barely notice I'm wearing them.

I don't actually know where the twins are, so I decide to try feeling for them. Rhett said with

the mate bond, you can just feel where your mate is. I don't know how it works, but I give it a try. Before I know it, my feet just start walking. I feel this pull telling me to go this way, so it

must be them.

I get to the main area of the packhouse and I hear voices outside. I can feel the twins' anger getting worse. They must be out there. Who is making them so angry? I go to the door and I

open it. Everyone is out here. Rhett is standing with his family while Blake is face to face with a tall man. I look around him and see his face. My heart drops. It's Sear. He came for me.

"I told you we should have come earlier. Now these creatures have touched her." The man

beside Sear says. This must be Sear's second in command. His ginger hair and blue eyes remind me of mine. Why does he look so familiar?

"Jereth, I told you we needed more time." Sear says to the man. The ginger man's name is Jereth. I've heard that name before.

"Well, I gave you more time. And this is what happened. My sister got corrupted by them. Who knows what they've done to her." Jereth says angrily. Umm...what?

"Did you just say....sister?" Blake asks. I feel everyone's confusion. Or is that the twins? Or mine? I can't even tell at this point.

"I'm sure by now you've been made aware of the Greythorn tradition to keep the bloodline pure." Sear says to Blake.

"I was five when Selenia was born. I didn't have my mark yet. I got it when Selenia was a few

days old. Selenia is my baby sister." Tears fall down my cheeks as I gasp and everyone turns around. My heart is hammering in my

chest. My family died. All of them. When I was nine. I had no one for so long. Just Reef. But here is this man, who looks a lot like me, claiming to be my brother. He said he burned me on the back of my neck, right where my scar is. I look at him and I feel it. He's telling the truth. His story about my parents, our parents, is true. My parents abandoned him because of his element and because he hurt me. By accident. He didn't even have magic until that moment. But he said he was just looking at my mark. Does that mean the fire came from nowhere? Are the rumours about him true? He can make fire from nothing?

I look back at Jereth. I see the awe in his eyes. I feel relief coming from him. I don't know why, maybe because we're finally meeting for the first time since he was abandoned. But this all feels like too much.

"I have a brother?" I whisper. My head is spinning and I see dots clouding my vision. "Selenia, are you okay?" I hear Mercury ask me. I suck in a breath.

"My head...it hurts." I try to grab the door to steady myself, but I miss and fall to the ground. I

hear people crowd around me, sparks hitting my skin where my mates are touching me. They will take care of me. I know it. I close my eyes as the sleep consumes me.
