Chapter 8

ROSE'S POV

My lips pursed at that moment as I thought as my mind wandered to the way Alpha King Josh looked at me. His dark eyes hide so many emotions. I couldn't tell what was going through his mind. Why does he want me to attend the meeting? Shouldn't he be disgusted by my presence?

"I asked you a question, Rose."

Alpha Richard barked at me, snapping me out of my thoughts. My smirk returned and he growled angrily, punching the wall behind my head.

"You know what, I will leave you for now because I have to prepare for the meeting with the King because some of us are going there to be a pretty doll."

Alpha Richard snapped. For the first time, my beauty was biting him in the ass. He stormed off and I strolled into my room like a contented woman. Despite how the night turned out, nothing could affect the sensational tingles between my thighs. Nothing could change the fact that I was pleasured.

I went to sleep that night with the thought of the dark Alpha King and he remained on my mind even while I slept. I felt him within and around me. It seemed like he had become an addiction.

"Stop moaning, Rose. Richard is coming this way."

Cali's voice filled my mind, making me realize that it was morning already and I successfully dreamt of the Alpha King... sexually of course. A pleasing wet dream.

Before I could pull myself together, Alpha Richard opened my bedroom door and barked, "Get your a*s up. It's an important day." He left me to get ready after that. I rolled my eyes because he obviously wasn't about to change his manner of approach I got ready quickly... fast enough to avoid the mirror...

"I can't wait to inhale his musky scent again." Cali announced her excitement as I strolled to the living room where Alpha Richard has been waiting.

"The pretty doll is finally ready. Now we can leave-"

Alpha Richard began and I almost rolled my eyes in response to him and Cali but the sudden change in his mood alerted me of another storm. What now?

"What's that?"

Alpha Richard hissed. I was confused but quickly assumed he wasn't happy about the color of the dress I chose to wear. I had chosen a black dress but Alpha Richard had always preferred seeing me in bright colors. "I asked you a question!"

Alpha Richard was short of breath and he grabbed my neck tightly, pushing me against a wall. This was becoming a routine. One man was suing me against the wall to pleasure me while the other was pushing me to punish me.

My eyes fell to my chest where Richard's gaze was set. I finally sighted the reason for his reaction and I couldn't help but smile.

The obvious love bites on my neck drove Alpha Richard crazy but reminded me of the good f**k I enjoyed in the bathroom last night.

"Yes. I underestimated you. I should have known you were up to no good when you took forever in the bathroom last night. As My Woman! You dare sleep with some riffraff under my nose!" Alpha Richard snarled. "I will kill you today, wh*re."

I sneered, "Your woman! Funny, Richard. So the Wrights women are goods or toys that can be brought and sold or are we fancy vases used to gain attention?"

I spoke for myself and other women in his family that was suffering the same fate as me.

"You!... you want to die, don't you!" He went wild ad raised his hand to slap me but the impact of the anticipated slap didn't happen.

I didn't feel it.

I opened my eyes that I had closed instinctively and realized that Alpha Richard's hand was hanging in the air as he glared at me.

"You want me to hit you, right? This is a charade just so I can be provoked to the point of leaving marks on your pale skin, right? I won't do that."

Alpha Richard uttered in defeat. I could tell he was in pain. The kind of pain that won't dissipate unless he hit me.

"The Alpha King is waiting for you... I won't hit you until he sees you. You are a whore anyways, so it doesn't matter. And you should showcase the disgusting marks when we meet the King. I might as well use them in my favor." Alpha Richard muttered.

I couldn't believe that he would think like that. I gritted, "What happened to your feelings, Richard-"

He cut me off by dragging me towards the car. It was a miracle that Irene didn't show up during the argument.

"I wasn't born with feelings that wouldn't fetch me money and fame." Alpha Richard stated. "My reputation is all that mattered." He threw me into the car with that said and his driver began to drive.

Upon arriving in front of a gate that I believed hide the Alpha King's official office, we were stopped by the gates.

Alpha Richard rolled down the windows and said, "I have an appointment with the Alpha King-"

"I am Eric, the official in charge of the King's business affairs and I am sorry to tell you that the Alpha King has urgent affairs to attend to so he wouldn't be seeing you today."

I recognized Eric as one of the men that Alpha King Josh was speaking to last night when he asked Richard to see him today. Alpha Richard didn't like the sound of that but he complied and ordered the driver to turn the car around. Left to Cali and me, we would never ride in a car. Traveling with my wolf strength was the best but not for sophisticated Alphas though. They all felt the need to show off their latest technological gadgets. Werewolves were advancing, chasing after human society.

"This is your fault and I will make you pay for-"

I stopped listening to Richard at this point. Every misfortune he faced had always been my fault anyways. It wasn't new.

Instead of returning to Silver Moon Pack, I realized that the car had taken another route when it stopped in front of an unfamiliar building. Alpha Richard pulled me out of the car and into the huge building. SILVER MOON INDUSTRY.

The name was boldly imprinted on the gigantic entrance door of the tall building. It was definitely a ten-story building or higher than that.

"Why am I here?"

I didn't get a response to my question but I was pulled towards the stairs. Alpha Richard used his abilities to climb the stairs quickly. I tripped a couple of times before I also summoned my abilities. Finally, we stopped and everyone on that floor turned to look at me. I was ogled at and some even whispered.

I didn't blame them, this was the first time I was here. I had never been seen in a business atmosphere with Alpha Richard... many wouldn't know that I am his mate since he hasn't marked me and he certainly didn't act like he had a mate. "Get back to work! I am not paying you to stare at her!"

Alpha Richard barked at his workers. They were all his pack members. I could tell. This industry was where the Pack food, clothes, and other amenities were being produced. A lot was going on here.

Immediately, they all returned to work while I was pushed into a secluded office.

"What are you up to now, Alpha-"

"Greetings, Alpha. Here is the plan you requested."

A formal young werewolf entered the office and handed a bunch of papers to Alpha Richard who in turn threw the file at me.

Alpha Richard said, "That's the plan I will be presenting to the Alpha King. I want you to memorize everything within that file within two hours and pray that the Alpha King accepts to see me again. If not, I will make sure I show you my worse." What else was his worse?

"What will you do? Whereas, am I supposed to charm the Alpha King into accepting your ideas-"

Alpha Richard announced, "If this plan doesn't work, this will work." He threw another paper at me.

Ir read, "OFFICIAL REQUEST TO AMALGAMATE THE DECLINING PACK; HOWLING WOLVES PACK; WITH SILVER MOON PACK."

"This is impossible-"

"If you don't behave yourself and if you tarnish my reputation, I will submit that official request to the Alpha King, and let's see if I will take over your people and pack or not."

This couldn't be happening...

No!

What do I do?

The paper in my hands made me ask myself, "Has he been helping as my dad believes, or has Alpha Richard been destroying the Howling Wolves' pack for selfish reasons?" "There is more, my darling Rose."

Alpha Richard announced, causing my heart to sink... what more? Tears filled my eyes as I stared at him, anticipating the next bomb.
