The Twin Alphas’ Fated Mate
Fate of the Forsaken Brother Epilogue 2

Another 2 Years Later...

~Blake-

I wake up to the smell of bacon. Man, I love it when mom cooks. She makes the best food. I roll out of bed and head to the bathroom to get ready for the day.

When I'm getting dressed, Rhett comes barreling into my room. I glare at him.

"Don't you ever knock? What if I had a girl in here?" I say.

"Then I'd be happy to take her off your hands." Rhett smirks. I roll my eyes.

"Gross." I say.

"Who are we kidding? You've never been with a girl. You just want to wait for our mate." Rhett says.

"And you should too." I say.

"No one follows that tradition anymore. Plus, I've only ever slept with Nicole." Rhett says, sitting on my bed. Nicole is Rhett's girlfriend. I told him it was a bad idea to get in a relationship, but he doesn't listen. He does whatever he wants. As usual.

"Well, I want to wait for our mate. We might even meet her today." I say. Today is our 18th birthday. We can finally meet our mate. I've been waiting for this for years. I see how happy our brothers are with their mates and I want that.

"Who do you hope it is?" Rhett asks.

"Anyone, but Nicole." I mutter. Rhett laughs.

"Well, good news. It's not her. She slept in my room last night. Didn't feel a thing." Rhett says.

"Thank goddess. I know you like her and all, but she is insufferable." I say.

"Yeah, she's been kind of getting on my nerves lately. She's been going on about how she wants to be my chosen mate. I told her no because I have a mate with you. She got all pissy and said she doesn't want both of us, just me." Rhett says.

"The feelings are mutual. I don't want her anywhere near me." I say. Just then, a knock on the door makes us look up. Rhett goes over and opens the door. Rhett gets tackled and I laugh.

"Get the f**k off me, Atlas!" Rhett yells. I walk over and pull Atlas, our best friend, off of my twin. Atlas rolls onto his back.

"Happy birthday, dipshits!" He yells. I kick him lightly in his side and he huffs out in pain.

"Get off my floor." I say. Atlas stands up.

"Did you hear the news?" Atlas asks us.

"No, what's going on?" Rhett asks, standing up from where Atlas tackled him.

"Apparently your brother got a letter last night. It was from a nearby fae village. Apparently, they're pissed about Silas." Atlas tells us. A fae village sent Max a letter? About Silas?

Silas has lived in our pack ever since he helped Max and Kaden. Mercury, our mom, invited him to stay. She offered him Greta's old cottage. She was the caster before mom, but she passed away before Rhett and I were born. She was really old apparently.

"Why would they be pissed about Silas? He hasn't done anything. He's barely even used his magic in the last four years since Italy." Rhett points out. I agree.

"I don't know exactly what it said, but I heard it was something to do with Mercury not 'taking care of the problem'. I think the fae want your mom to kill Silas." Atlas says.

"That's insane. We need to go talk to Max." I say. Rhett nods and we leave my room and head for Max's office. We knock and he calls for us to come in. When he sees it's us, he comes around his desk and pulls us in for a hug.

"Happy birthday, guys!" Max says.

"Thanks." Rhett says. "We heard the fae aren't happy with us."

Max sighs and turns to his desk to grab something. He hands me a letter and I open it. After I finish reading, I hand it to Rhett.

"They want us to either kill Silas or hand him over for them to kill?" I say in disbelief.

"How'd they even find out he's here?" Rhett asks.

"I have no idea. I mean, we're not hiding that he lives here. Silas lies low, but he comes and goes as he pleases and visits other packs often. Maybe someone from another pack mentioned it and word spread." Max sighs.

"We're not killing him, right? I mean, we can't. He's too powerful." Rhett asks.

"No, we're not killing him. Silas has become a good friend to us. He's done nothing wrong for this to be happening to him. Maybe I'll find out which fae village this is from and pay them a personal visit. Looks like they're earth fae." Max says, looking back at the letter.

"We're coming." I say.

"Blake," Max starts but I cut him off.

"Silas saved your life, Aubrey's life, Rhett's life, and my life. How can we sit back and let them dictate if he should live or die if he's done nothing but save people?" I say.

"I agree. We're not staying here. Plus, we're warriors now. We completed final training yesterday

and we're 18 as of today. There's no actual reason for you to say no." Rhett says.

Max sighs. "Mom's going to kill me, but you're right. As soon as I find the village, I'll let you know and we'll all head out. Kaden and Devin too, obviously."

I smile and Rhett high fives me. Max shoos us out of his office. Our mom made us a birthday breakfast and he said she'll be mad if we don't go down before it gets cold.

Our first mission as warriors will be going into fae territory. I've never seen a fae before. They keep to themselves. But I've always wondered what they look like. I'm excited about this.

Should be fun.
