ROSE'S

POV

I felt the coldness first before my ears picked up the crashing sound of what I assumed was a water pot.

I was drenched with cold water.

What a way to feel life again!

My numb body made me think I was dead. That would have been great. I would have had the opportunity to rest in the Moon Goddess Bosom.

And if given the chance, I will choose to be my own person in my next life. Someone with choices and independence.

Was I in heaven with the Goddess?

"Oh, is the elegant Princess awake?" An overly familiar voice resonated, confusing me because the voice wasn't that of Irene or anyone in the Silver Moon Pack. What? Where was I?

Clearly, it wasn't sounding like I was in heaven.

"You have disgraced the entire pack by whoring around. The Wrights have sent you out of their pack. I wonder why they sent your unconscious body here when they could have..."

The voice belonged to Melissa, my step-sister. She kept talking as I opened my eyes to understand what was happening... Seeing, they said, was believing.

"Melissa, what are you talking about?" That was my stepmother, Amber. She has always been hypocritical.

I looked at the gloating faces of Amber and my stepsister, Melisa, and smoked bitterly. It turned out I wasn't in heaven with the goddess but in hell with the two-faced demons that ruined my life. I was sitting on one of the wooden granny chairs in my father's small compound that once used to be adorned with love and peace.

This used to be home but how it was hell.

Ignoring my painful body and sore bones, I sat up and sneered, "Don't you think I whored around because I had a good example at home? I have a cheating mistress and her slutty sister-" "You..." Melissa started angrily. "Dad, can you hear what Rose said?"

Learning that my dad, Alpha Sean was in the compound too, I bit my lips and allowed my eyes to wander, searching for him.

"Dad, I want to break the alliance." I said flatly, expecting that my dad would understand.

"I disagree." He responded. Sadly, he didn't understand.

I was disappointed. I always thought that no matter how I was treated by Amber and Melissa, my dad would still care about me and that our father-daughter bond would last forever. With a sneer, I countered adamantly, "It doesn't matter if you disagree or not, I'm already an adult.

"You are presumptuous." my dad barked fiercely, nearly coughing out his lungs. He and I share some physical similarities. We had the same hair color while Amber and Mellisa were petite blondes.

I stopped talking, watching my dad cough repeatedly. Amber and Melissa went to help him yet I didn't make a move.

I felt like a stranger in my childhood haven.

"Sean, why aren't you telling her about the pack? She should know what her actions had caused us."

Amber whispered to my dad like I wasn't standing a few feet from them.

Inhaling deeply, my dad announced, "There was another attack on the Pack recently and we lost many of our able-bodied Men and women. Without Alpha Richard's help, the pack will cease existing and our family will bear a shameful mark forever." I shivered, hearing the fear in my dad's voice. I thought the Pack situation would have gotten better after three years but I was reminded of Irene's words.

It's been three years for goddess's sake! My dad should have gotten enough money, arms, tactics, and support from Alpha Richard,

What was going on?

Cali was quiet. She focused on healing me as we both inhaled the smell of what could be home.

"Rose." my dad's eyes were full of tears as he began talking. "Don't blame Dad, sweetie. I am powerless. Howling Wolves was built by us when your mom was still with us but I have destroyed the pack and failed our people." Mom...

I recalled my mom's dying words. She held my hand and told me to protect the pack and serve our people.

If only Mom was here...

Gazing at my Dad, I made a decision. Not for my Dad but for my dead Mom and the members of the pack. If saving Howling wolves would cost my freedom and life, I would willingly give those away.

ALPHA KING JOSH'S POV

The healers would always have a special place in my heart. I was their regular customer at this point and my presence in their healing house has become the norm.

"What pack does she belong to? Don't you want to find her?"

Max questioned me about the strange woman who had created an unexplainable hunger within me.

I was also curious about her. She was the only thing on my mind as Adam carried me on his back, traveling through the pack boundaries to bring me home- Royal Moon Pack... The seat of the Alpha King who ruled over the five Northern packs. That was me. Of course.

I sensed Adam returning to my special room in the healing house and decided to wash my face, and get rid of the mud and dried blood in the adjoining bathroom.

Within two minutes, I was done and I returned to the room to see Adam waiting by the bed with a clean shirt and trousers.

I was still sore but I managed to dress without Adam's help.

"Now your appearance is matching those eagle's eyes... There is the King spirit I know."

Adam praised my appliance, saying I looked like I just walked out of a picture. I was good-looking with my dark eyes and hair. Compliments we're norms for me.

To complete my bad Alpha look, I opened the drawer beside the bed, took out the cigarette box that I had left here the last time I visited, and lit one of the werewolf-branded cigarettes.

Adam's shocked expression was blurred when I puffed out smoke.

"What are you doing? Do you really think you are made of iron? The healers advised that you rest for at least two weeks, My King."

Adam exclaimed, reminding me of the head healer's shocked expression when she saw the wounds I was brought in with.

"Do you think the traitorous members of my family will allow me to rest for two weeks?"

I retorted, confirming that it was high time I took action against my closest opposers.

"You are correct. I will take you home so you can rest well while I arrange some royal warriors for the purpose of revenge."

Adam chimed. He was a good friend and Beta. The best in the northern territory.

"Good." I said faintly. "Before you start arranging for men, help me get some spies."

Adam didn't hide his surprise when I mentioned spies

"What are you doing? Why do you need spies, My king?"

Adam voiced his curiosity.

I gave him a deep look, "to find someone."

"Who?" Adam asked. He read between the lines are gasped. "Don't tell me you are addicted to the woman your evil brothers sent to abuse you." "Shut Up, Adam!"

I barked coldly, using my dominating aura to silence my Beta.

"Oh..." Adam whispered. "I will try my best to find her."

Even though my Beta gave me his word, I wondered if either of us would find my mysterious green-eyed beauty.

Little did I know that she was coming back for me...
