Enoah turned around and smiled. "Are you here for a tutoring gig, Suzy?"

She knew that Suzy lived in the eastern suburbs and her family was not well-off. Since this was an area where the wealthy lived, Enoah simply assumed Suzy was here to tutor someone. Suzy smiled lightly. "It's fortunate that I ran into you."

How could she forget that Enoah was George's elder brother's daughter, hence making her George's niece?

They had not met once in nearly three years. Yet now, they had bumped into each other three times in a single week. Suzy secretly heaved a sigh. Perhaps the cupid that matched them together finally woke up from a long nap? Enoah turned around and introduced Suzy. "Oh, this is my Uncle George!"

Suzy pretended not to know him and nodded. "Hi, Mr. Laine!"

George thought that her voice sounded a little familiar. He shifted his eyes to take a look, and his dark eyes appeared a little surprised. Then, he narrowed them slightly.

Suzy clenched the umbrella handle in her hand. Her face was calm, but her heart was already in a state of chaos. She thought, 'At most, he'll only know that I'm a student at River U. Why am I panicking?' Enoah was a naturally cordial person and took the initiative to chat with me. "Say, does Tiffany Jones have a thing for Yasiel Quig?"

Suzy remembered what had happened yesterday, and there was a chill in her eyes. She replied softly, "That seems to be the case."

Enoah sneered, "The entire school knows that Yasiel has had a thing for you for three years now. The two of you are top-tier students in school, so why would Yasiel bat an eyelid at Tiffany?"

Suzy glanced at George subconsciously and smiled, "Yasiel and I are ordinary classmates, so it doesn't matter to me who he ends up with."

Enoah gave her a suspicious look. Suzy could only scream inwardly that this was a wrongful accusation! Regardless of whether her marriage was due to an agreement or not, she was still a married woman!

In the city, there was an accident on the road ahead and the traffic was congested all the way. Enoah clenched her stomach and said, "When will this end? I'm so hungry. Why don't we grab a bite to eat first?" Suzy immediately said, "I'll get off here instead. I'll get back to school by myself."

"What do you mean get back to school? It's already noon. Let's grab lunch together." Enoah quickly made a decision.

George, who had not spoken during the ride, raised his hand and looked at his watch. Then, he instructed Jessie, "Stop at the side."

There happened to be a French restaurant on the right. The three of them went in and sat down. Enoah was afraid that Suzy had never been to such a high-end restaurant before, so after asking her about her taste, she took the initiative to order for her.

After ordering, Enoah went to the bathroom. Only George and Suzy were left at the table.

George was leaning against the sofa. His posture was languid, and his brows were half-drooping as he looked at the phone in his hand. His handsome facial features made people unable to take their eyes off him.

Suzy's eyes fell on the man's handsome face. She quickly recalled the scene from that night. The man was sometimes gentle and sometimes frantic. His movements were fierce, unlike the noble and elegant posture he was putting on now. She was filled with resentment after getting home last night. Even though she had lost her chastity under those circumstances, why did she leave that ten-dollar bill behind? Had she gone mad at that time?

Nonetheless, sitting here now and seeing the man on the opposite side whose looks were a feast for the eyes, her heart was finally at ease. That ten bucks were well worth it!

Probably aware of the gaze on him from the opposite side, George frowned slightly and looked up.

Suzy pretended to shift her gaze and looked out the window. However, her ears were crimson red. Letting her imagination run wild in broad daylight, how sinful! George's eyes were indifferent. Feeling a slight curiosity, he asked, "What's your name?"

Suzy felt her spine straightening up. Looking at the man's dark eyes, she responded softly,

"Suzy Shirley."

The man's handsome face was calm, and there was no hint of surprise in his eyes. He was clearly unfamiliar with this name and did not remember it!

Suzy thought, 'Sure enough, he didn't even care to know the name of the person he married.'

Just at that moment, the waiter served them their desserts. Suzy received a text on her phone, interrupting the conversation between the two.

When she unlocked her phone, she noticed it was a message from Olly.

[Z, guess who I saw? George Laine! He's eating a meal with a woman right now. She has her back toward me, so I can't see what she looks like. How dare he go on a date with a minx as soon as he returns to Cantent? Doesn't he remember that he's married?]

Suzy stared at the phone with mixed feelings in her heart. She only replied to the message after a long while.

[Sorry, Olly. I'm that minx.]

Olive Shaw was Suzy's pal and inseparable best friend of many years. Apart from her father Jarold, Olive was the only one who knew that she and George were married.

Olive sent a few shocked emojis and soon sent another message: [Why are you with George Laine? Have the two of you come to acknowledge your relationship?] Acknowledge their relationship?

Suzy looked at these words and found it hard to explain in a few words. She raised her eyes and glanced at the man before replying to Olly: [That's not the case. It's a coincidence. I'll explain later.]

Olive was feeling incredibly gossipy and curious, so how could she give this up? [I'm on the third floor. I'll go down to look for you.]

Suzy frowned and typed quickly: [Stay there. Don't move an inch!]

Olive sent her another sad emoji but Suzy promptly ignored it. She turned off her phone but suddenly smelled elegant and fresh perfume.

A woman wearing a beige suit from GK's spring collection came over and proceeded to sit beside George. She had on delicate makeup and was brimming with an elegant temperament. The woman took a quick glance at Suzy's face, then said to George in a displeased manner, "I called you in the morning to ask you to come out to lunch with me, but you told me that you weren't available. It turns out you already have a date with someone else."

George's face appeared dim. "First come, first served, after all."

The woman chuckled as her gaze at Suzy became even sharper. "I'll have to introduce myself. My name's Sena Hans. What's yours?"

Suzy sensed the woman's hostility and was about to speak when George suddenly pushed his dessert in front of her. His voice was still cold, but there were seemingly hints of intimacy. "I'm not a fan of cranberry mousse. Take it." Suzy did not fancy cranberry mousse either, but she still picked up the spoon.

Sena's expression looked slightly distorted, but she still maintained a smile and said, "Why are you being so protective? I was just asking for her name. It's not like I'll eat her up, right?"

There was zero expression on George's face. "She's timid and shy with strangers."

Suzy choked on a mouthful of mousse. It took her quite a bit of effort to swallow it.

Sena laughed almost mockingly. "Is she now? But I have a feeling that some women are extremely daring. They'll simply rely on their good looks and put their eggs in baskets everywhere. You should be careful now, Georgie." George crossed his legs, and his thin lips pouted in disapproval. He replied to her in a low voice, "It doesn't matter as long as she's good-looking. I don't need anything else from her."

The spoon in Suzy's hand trembled slightly. She almost could not bring herself to eat another bite of mousse. Could these mighty big shots take a commoner's feelings into consideration during their battles here?

This time around, Sena no longer tried to conceal her gloomy expression. She could clearly sense that George was defending the woman. Feeling stifled, Sena did not dare to let out her anger in front of the man. The problem was that she did

not have the right to be jealous. Their parents had great relationships with each other. Her father had the intention of matching the two of them, but George was unwilling to budge.

Knowing that it was impossible to lose her demeanor at this time, Sena got up and smiled gracefully. "Then I won't be disturbing your meal now. I'll come to visit Madam Laine another day."

George gave her an indifferent response. While enduring the bitterness in her heart, Sena quickly left in her heels.

The mousse on Suzy's plate was half-eaten, and when she saw that the woman was gone, she immediately put down her spoon.

George raised his eyes and looked over. His voice returned to its previous tone of estrangement. "Please don't misunderstand the conversation earlier."

Suzy remained calm as well. "I get it. Well, you're buying me dinner, so I did you a favor. We're even."
