The man groaned, raised his hand to cover his head, and seemed to want to turn around. However, his body trembled slightly before falling to the floor. Nelly was quite frightened as well. She dropped the bat in her hand before quickly backing away.

Soon, she returned to her room, locked the door, and gasped for breath.

Her heart was beating so fast that her blood ran cold. She ran to the bed, grabbed her phone, and started calling the police. Her hands were still shaking when she was dialing the number. 15 minutes later, when she heard the doorbell ringing outside, Nelly hid under the blanket from getting startled. It must be the police, so Nelly got up and opened the door.

When she passed the living room, she saw the man she knocked unconscious still lying on the balcony.

Nelly tiptoed to the main door and looked out through the peephole. The people standing outside were indeed the police. She quickly opened the door and said urgently to them, "I knocked out the thief! He's on the balcony!" Five police officers had come. They turned on the lights after entering the door and surrounded the balcony. Nelly carefully followed them and watched as they walked forward. They proceeded to turn the unconscious man over. A policeman muttered, "He doesn't look like a thief!" The man was wearing an expensive suit, and the watch on his wrist was also very valuable. Although he was knocked unconscious, his image and temperament were definitely not that of an ordinary person. Nelly grew curious and took a look. When she saw the man's appearance, she was taken aback. "It's him?"

The police turned around and asked her, "You know him?" Nelly frowned at the question. Did they know each other? She did not even know his name! "He's injured quite badly, so let's take him to the hospital first. We'll interrogate him when he wakes up!" said a policeman.

Several police officers helped the man up, looked at the ID he was carrying, and found out that the man was called James Collins!

Seeing this name, several police officers looked at each other in dismay. They were surprised and baffled by this. Could the guy be one of the Collins?

They immediately took James to the hospital, and of course, they brought Nelly along as well. When they got to the hospital's emergency room, the doctor said after examining him, "At

present, he seems to be suffering from a mild concussion. A more detailed result will be determined only after the inspection report comes out." Nelly was very restless. "When will he wake up?" The doctor looked at Nelly and said with a smile, "Were you the one who did this? You're quite tough, young lady!"

After hearing this, Nelly felt even guiltier.

The doctor comforted her, saying, "It'll be alright. He'll wake up tomorrow morning. He just needs a good rest!" Nelly nodded slightly. Regardless of whether James was a thief or not, they had to wait for him to wake up before doing the investigation. The nurse had placed James inside the ward, and the police station dispatched a female police officer to accompany Nelly as they temporarily stayed overnight in the hospital.

Nelly slept on the other hospital bed. Perhaps because she was frightened and worried that the man on the hospital bed was badly beaten by her, she continuously tossed and turned around. It took her a long time to fall asleep. The next morning, after Nelly got up, James was still unconscious. The policewoman asked her to keep an eye on James as she went out to get breakfast for them.

Nelly sat on the edge of the bed, looking at the man with her hands on her cheeks. His face was a little pale, but he looked somewhat more handsome in a sickly way.

The man was indeed good-looking Otherwise, he would not have caused that cousin of hers to bawl her eyes out day after day after he broke up with her.

Nelly heard that Shiomare had gone looking for this man again later, only to find out that he already had a new lover by his side. Shiomara took a huge blow, but she was still unrepentant. She went and pestered him over and over again, causing a great commotion within her own household!

James was still just a man anyway. Even if he was good-looking, it was just appearance. Nelly could only describe the things Shiomara had done with three words - lower than low! Had all the men in the world gone extinct? Must she bark up only one tree alone?!

Perhaps Shiomara was too bored with her life? If she were more like her, thinking more about earning money every day and saving for next semester's tuition fees, she probably would not have the time to pester men! Men were nothing compared to money!
