When the two were in such a closed and cramped space, Suzy felt a little uncomfortable. She turned around to pretend to look at the scenery. Once the car hit the asphalt road, George looked ahead and said lightly, "Is Sherman pursuing you?"

"What?"

Suzy turned around in surprise. She did not expect George to find out about this as well.

"I saw him sending flowers to you outside the gate of River U that day," George explained, seemingly knowing what she was thinking. "Oh!" Suzy nodded slightly.

George's hand was holding the steering wheel. The afternoon sun was shining on his side profile. The halo seemed to outline his well-defined jaw, making him appear more handsome and noble.

He said in a low voice, "Before you even consider Sherman, I have to tell you something. He and Sena are cousins. Sena's mother is his aunt."

This made Suzy somewhat astonished. It turned out that was the case!

George continued, "I don't know whether or not Sherman is sincere in pursuing you. I just feel that I have a responsibility to tell you about their relationship. As for whether or not you should associate yourself with Sherman, you should make that judgment yourself."

Suzy looked out of the car window and she let out a small smile. "There's no need for my judgment. I think he'll never come to see me again!"

"Hmm?" George did not understand what she meant and looked at the woman through the rearview mirror.

Both her eyebrows and eyelashes were dark in color. Her lips were red, and her teeth were white. She looked like she had a face filled with makeup even if that was not the case. The sun was shining on her face. She had slight baby fat, which looked so soft. One could not help but want to pinch her cheeks.

Suzy did not speak and merely thought of something while smiling happily.

She was in a great mood. When she was getting out of the car, she smiled and said goodbye to George.

In the dessert shop next to the school, Suzy bought two boxes of Starry Sky Candies, which were getting increasingly popular recently. Then, Suzy took the bus back to Green Garden Villa, got off at Secloud Road, and gave Nelly a box of candy. Once she was back in the villa, she read a book, played some games, and played with Parsi for a while. The afternoon passed by quickly. At six o'clock, Suzy received a call from Olive, saying that she was already on her way to the villa. Half an hour later, Olive drove her red Porsche sports car over and parked it outside the villa. When she saw Suzy coming out, she took off her sunglasses and whistled. "What a beauty! You've gotten even prettier after not seeing you for a few days!"

Suzy smiled and got into the car.

Olive took out a bunch of bags from the backseat and stuffed them into Suzy's hands. "My mother just came back from Feranse today. She bought these for you. There are clothes, jewelry, and bags. You can take a look at them yourself." Suzy hugged her arms and said with a smile, "Thank Godmom for me. I don't actually have a need for these things, so tell her she doesn't need to buy these for me in the future."

Olive turned the steering wheel and said helplessly, "I told her that already. I said to her that the entire GK belongs to you, so you wouldn't be lacking any of these. But Mom said that shopping for herself is different from shopping for others! In any case, she's just satisfying her desire to shop, so just take them."

Suzy's heart was filled with warmth, and without saying anything else, she asked, "Where are we going?"

"A friend opened a new restaurant and asked me to join the party. I'm taking you out for a delicious meal!" Under the setting sun, Olive smiled brightly and flamboyantly.

The restaurant opened by Olive's friend was located downtown, where the land was extremely expensive. The decorations were elegant, and there was heavy traffic at the entrance.

After entering the restaurant, Olive took Suzy directly to the private room that was reserved in advance.

The owner was a strong-looking woman in her 30s named Dani Jett. She was Olive's senior when they were studying abroad. After returning to the country, the two had been in contact with each other.

Knowing that Olive had arrived, Dani came over to greet her affectionately and ordered some signature dishes as well as alcohol for them.

The restaurant was incredibly busy, and the people around kept asking for Dani. Hence, she had to leave. She even asked Olive to take care of Suzy.

The waiters quickly came to serve the dishes. Most of the dishes were seafood such as top-quality oysters, salt-baked escargot, Boston lobsters, and others... The color, fragrance, and flavor of the dishes were all excellent. The two chatted while eating, and naturally, George popped up as a subject.

Olive was very curious. "After going to the Laine family's residence so many times, George still doesn't know the relationship between the two of you?"

Suzy nodded calmly. "Nope!"

Olive could not help but laugh. "That's so interesting! Say, what do you think his expression will be like if he finds out?"

Suzy remembered what he said that night in Tray Hotel. He sighed. "Who knows? He'll probably just throw me out!"

"That's why I'm telling you to sleep with him. Strike first and gain the upper hand!" Olive seemed like she was filled with plans. "With George's figure and appearance, you won't lose anything anyway!"

Suzy looked up at her. "Do you think it's that easy to sleep with George?"

The first time was purely accidental.

Olive said with a smile, "You're pretty! You have to be more confident! How about I teach you a couple of tricks?"

"No need!" Suzy immediately said, "Those tricks of yours are geared for the guys rather than the ladies. Just use them on Matthew Ledger."

Olive smiled brightly and enchantingly. "What kind of tricks could I possibly use on him?"

Suzy nodded in agreement. "They're all Matthew's tricks, after all."

The drink in Olive's mouth was almost spat out from laughter.

Halfway through the meal, Matthew called Olive. Suzy got up and went to the bathroom, afraid that they would talk about inappropriate topics.

She crossed the corridor and turned to the right. A man behind her happened to come out of the side corridor. There were a few people behind him who were respectfully and carefully talking to the man. When the group arrived outside the private room, someone pushed the door open and allowed George to enter first.

There were more than a dozen people sitting in the private room. Seeing George, they got up one after another.

"G!"

"Miller!"

All of them shouted at him respectfully.

Even though George had left River City for three years, the people who had surrounded him in the past were still in awe of him.

Everyone in the private room was standing, and only one person was sitting still, not even batting an eyelid toward George.

Tanner Zimmer, who was next to George, leaned over and smiled. "Mr. Miller, this is Mr. Laine."

Only then did Sherman get up, put his hands in his pockets, and smile lazily. "I've been hearing about you for quite some time now, Mr. Laine!"

George walked to the seat opposite him unhurriedly, then calmly said, "It's a pleasure to meet you."

Everyone took their seats and poured some drinks. They started talking to liven the atmosphere, and it was as if everyone was friends who had reunited after a long time.

Tanner raised his glass and said with a smile, "I've wanted to invite Mr. Laine and Mr. Miller out for a meal together for a long time now. I'm lucky enough to have the chance to invite the two of you today. Let's have a toast!" Sherman put on a fake smile and said, "You should've told me earlier, Zimmer. I would've accepted your invitation. After all, Mr. Laine has just returned. We should have done a welcome party for him."

George showed zero emotions. "There's no need to be so polite. We're all friends."

Sherman smiled meaningfully. "Yeah! We're all friends, after all!"

Laine Corp and the Miller family had business dealings with each other, but they were also in competition. The Laines dominated River City, and the Millers were equally ambitious.

Sherman had heard of George when he was abroad. Both of them were heirs to their families. They would naturally have to compete with each other sooner or later.

Sherman was looking forward to this day, but when he returned to the country, George had already left.

After three years of waiting, George finally came back.

Everyone could sense the atmosphere between George and Sherman. They all spoke carefully to keep things peaceful.

After all, they could not afford to offend either of them.

...

Suzy was washing her hands in the bathroom, and behind her, there were two people doing their makeup while chatting. Between them, the woman in a blue dress smiled at the other and said, "Yasmine, just tell me how'd you get into Sheraton?"

The woman in white looked rather gentle and pleasant. She smiled warmly and said, "I probably got lucky."

"We're so close, yet you're still hiding it from me!" The woman in blue laughed with annoyance. "I heard that you were hand-picked by George Laine. You must've gotten yourself a cash cow."

She then lowered her voice and said coyly, "Just tell me how'd you get into his bed."
