Several bodyguards disguised as youngsters nodded, expressed their understanding, and walked toward the depths of the alley.

Sherman leaned against the antique bluestone wall and took a few puffs of cigarettes. After almost ten minutes, he felt that it was almost time. Hence, he put out the cigarette and walked over without much haste. There were many college students who would come out to eat at this hour, so the plan was for his men to take Suzy into a remote corner. If they were surrounded by several walls, no sound could be heard. Sherman was imagining how Suzy's clothes would be disheveled as she was pressed to the ground by several men. Then, at her most desperate moment, he would arrive on the scene like a god. Her eyes would be full of dazzling stars, and she would look at him gratefully and adoringly.

In order to repay him for saving her life, Suzy Shirley would devote her life to him and become hell-bent on him!

While Sherman was imagining that, a wide grin was plastered across his face.

As he approached closer, Sherman heard fighting noises and the muffled groans of men.

He was surprised, and the scene in front of him shocked him!

The person who was beaten on the ground was not Suzy but his bodyguards. All of them were wounded and lying on the ground while clutching their stomachs. They were wailing in anguish.

Suzy put her hair up into a ponytail and was wearing an off-white sweater. She was stepping on a guy's chest with her right foo, looking calm and composed. Cold air surrounded her body, and even the breeze around them seemed to have frozen.

The bodyguards on the ground had bloody noses and swollen faces. They had been beaten to a pulp. When they saw Sherman, they subconsciously begged for mercy, "Help, Mr. Miller!"

Sherman's face changed suddenly, and he saw Suzy looking at him with a cold, murderous look in her eyes.

There was a jolt in his heart. Sherman turned around and ran, only to feel a gust of wind behind him. Someone grabbed onto his shoulder, and his entire body soared, spinning 360 degrees. He fell heavily to the ground! "F*ck!"

Sherman started seeing many golden stars in front of him.

These stars were dazzling just as he had imagined.

...

When Sena called, the Miller family's personal doctor was treating Sherman's wound.

Sherman's face had turned ashen. He swiped the screen to accept the call and wiped away the blood on the corner of his lips with his fingers. Then, he yelled, "F*ck off! If you f*cking say the name Suzy Shirley in front of me ever again, don't even think about sticking around in River City in the future!"

Afterward, Sherman immediately threw the phone.

The private doctor trembled, and his hand holding the cotton pad was shaking violently.

Sherman's chest was about to explode. He was panting heavily, and he knew he definitely had to get revenge for this!

He had to!

...

On Saturday morning, Suzy went to the Laine family's manor.

George did not come back last night, and Ean had lost track of time while playing games. Hence, he had not woken up even when Suzy arrived.

Enoah also got up late. She hurriedly greeted Suzy before she went out for the day.

Suzy waited for an hour for Ean to wash up, eat, and change his clothes. He finally appeared in front of her.

However, Ean abided by the agreement between the two of them from last time. He was not rude, nor did he procrastinate. He obediently listened to her teachings.

As Ean was an hour late, it was already noon when the class was over. The maid came over to tell Suzy that Ms. Enoah had left a message saying that she should stay for lunch.

Since George was not at home and there was only Ean around, Suzy agreed to accompany him for lunch.

Who would have expected that when the two of them had just sat down, George came home!

After the maid went over to ask him, she found out that George had not eaten lunch. Thus, she prepared a set of tableware for him too.

Suzy did not expect that he would come back, so she got up and said, "Mr. Laine, since you're back, then you should accompany Ean for lunch. I'll be leaving now."

Ean frowned. "You're leaving as soon as Uncle comes back. Are you afraid of him or do you hate him?"

Suzy gasped lightly. Must the little guy take revenge on her like this just because she gave him a couple of harder equations during the tutoring session earlier?

She shot a glare at Ean, and when she turned her head, she saw George looking over as though he was waiting for her to answer Ean's question.

He took off his suit jacket and draped it over his arms, wearing only a blue-gray shirt without a tie. Two of his buttons were loose, revealing his delicate collarbone and a small part of his solid muscles. Suzy looked away and smiled gently. "How could I be? I only have respect for Mr. Laine."

George did not seem to want to bicker with her about this matter and said in a low voice, "You guys eat first. I'm heading upstairs to change my clothes."

After saying this, he quickly headed up. Suzy thought that as a guest, it would be more polite to wait for the host to come back before having the meal together. Ean did not start eating either.

When George's figure had completely disappeared at the top of the stairs, Suzy scoffed, "If you don't want me to be your tutor, just tell it to me straight. There's no need to put me in that situation."

Ean was slightly embarrassed. "Children's words carry no harm. Haven't you heard of such a saying?"

Suzy retorted, "Didn't you tell me to not treat you as a child?"

Ean raised his eyebrows. "Just because you don't think of me as a child, I'm no longer a child?"

Suzy chose not to bicker any further with a child.

"It's not a big deal. In exchange, I won't scold you any more when we play games next time!" Ean tossed out a peace offering.

Suzy looked arrogant when she said, "I was already playing very well!"

Ean said seriously, "Have you misunderstood the words 'very well'?"

Suzy, "..."

While the two were arguing, George came downstairs. He had changed into a casual white thin shirt and beige trousers, which made him look more slender and elegant.

Suzy and Ean both became silent.

George sat on the main seat of the long table, picked up his utensils, and said in a low voice, "It's Ms. Shirley's first time having a meal at home with us, so please make yourself comfortable. There's no need to be too polite." Suzy smiled and said, "Thank you!"

The kitchen had prepared two kinds of soup. The maid brought both over, asking Suzy which one she wanted.

Suzy chose the tomato soup, and the maid respectfully placed the soup in front of her.

George and Ean chose tomato soup as well.

The three of them started eating in silence.

After Ean took a few sips of soup, he asked George, "Uncle, is my sister dating someone?"

"Huh?" George was rather surprised about him finding out.

Ean raised his eyebrows and scoffed. "We don't see her every weekend, and last night, I saw her talking on the phone on the balcony. She was brimming from ear to ear."

Suzy lowered her head and ate her food in silence. It seemed like Enoah was truly in love. Two days ago, she saw her in the school library sitting with a tall, clean-looking boy. They were talking and laughing in low voices, looking intimate with each other.

Cece had gossiped with her, saying the boy was from the foreign language department. His name was Sol Jones.

George's face was the same as usual, and he said in a low voice, "Your sister is a young adult now, and it's normal for her to date. Don't worry about her and take care of yourself."

"I don't need others to worry about me as well!" Ean muttered. Then, he suddenly looked up at Suzy and said, "You're an adult too. Aren't you dating?"

"Cough!"

Suzy choked for a while and hurriedly took a tissue to cover her mouth. She looked at Ean and said, "No."

"Then you should hurry up. If you don't start dating in college, others will start saying that you have no charm," Ean said as if he was experienced.

Suzy narrowed her eyes and smiled. "You're just hoping that if I'm dating someone, I won't have time to be your tutor anymore. Is that right?"

Ean shrugged and said, "I didn't say that. I'm just concerned about you."

"Then I should thank you! Even my grandpa isn't as worried as you are!"

As George listened to the two bickering, he suddenly remembered something and gave Suzy a thoughtful look.
