George sat down on the sofa opposite Suzy and asked, "Where's Dad and Gregory?"

Juniper replied, "They're still dealing with something. They're talking in the study upstairs and will be down soon!"

"Mm." George nodded lightly.

George's mother, Gemma Pelton, placed the tea down and looked at Suzy as she smiled kindly. "I heard that you're still a third-year university student, Ms. Shirley. You're so pretty and so excellent. Are you from River City?" Suzy replied, "I grew up in Cloud City."

"Oh!" Gemma smiled warmly. "That means you're away from home. If you need help with anything in the future, you can come to the house or ask Georgie for help. You're welcome any time."

Juniper added, "It's better not to scare the young lady. With Georgie's unfriendly face, most people won't dare to approach him."

George glanced at Suzy and said with a small smile, "I don't frighten her. How about you ask her yourself how I usually treat her?"

Suzy could not help but feel guilty. Afraid that George's words might cause others to misunderstand, she hurriedly said, "Well, Mr. Laine's been very kind to me."

Fortunately, the family did not seem to think too much into it. Gemma joked and said, "If he were nice to any woman, he wouldn't be a bachelor at his age."

George sneered. "How'd this topic get turned back to me again?"

Juniper remembered something and asked, "I heard that your marriage with the Shirley family has been dissolved?"

George said, "Yes."

Juniper smiled and looked at Gemma as she said, "Then we should really get Georgie a new wife soon,"

George lowered his eyes and took a sip of tea. "We're not in a hurry."

Gemma asked, "We bumped into Yvette while we were in Landon. Are you still keeping in touch with her?"

Suzy's eyes paused slightly. She remembered the words Sena had mentioned before. Was the person that George liked not named Yvette?

George replied lightly, "No."

Gemma said, "It was a pity between you and Yvette. You were held back by the Shirley family for three years. Now that the engagement has been terminated, the two of you can contact one another again."

Juniper also added, "Yes! I had a small chat with Yvette. She's been single for the past few years and is currently filming a movie. She'll be returning to Canton after finishing the movie, and judging by her words, I think she'll start expanding her career here in the future."

"The matters between us had nothing to do with the Shirley family." George's tone was cold as if he did not want to carry on with this conversation. "Don't bring her up anymore."

Gemma glared at him and shook her head. She started talking to Suzy instead, "Come now, little one. Have some fruit."

Suzy was deep in her thoughts before she quickly recovered her senses. "Okay. I'll help myself. There's no need to trouble yourself."

Juniper opened the drawer of the coffee table, took out a velvet box, and put it in front of Suzy. She smiled and said, "We were abroad for the past few months, and it's entirely your credit that Ean could get such a result. I didn't know what you liked, so I got you a small piece of jewelry. I hope you like it."

Suzy said with a warm smile, "You're too kind. I'm a tutor, so it's my duty to watch over Ean's studies. Plus, Mr. Laine has already paid me my salary, so I can't ask for more gifts."

Juniper smiled. "This is just a little something from us. It's not worth that much. Let's see if you like it?"

"Let me open it!" Enoah took the box and opened it. It was DR's fishtail necklace, delicate but not ostentatious. It was cute and playful, which was suitable for someone at Suzy's age.

"This is your first time having such a great taste, Mom," Enoah praised as she shoved the necklace into Suzy's hand. "It's for you, so make sure you take it. This is only sold abroad by DR. You can't buy it in Cantent."

Suzy still refused to take it. "It's too expensive!"

George looked over and said, "It's just a small token of appreciation from Jun. Just go ahead and keep it."
