Chapter 154

Suzy did not speak. She saw that the eagle wings in front of the task list were black, which meant that she had to be the one to accept this mission. There was no room for choice.

She narrowed her eyes, opened the task list, and looked at it carefully.

"What sort of mission is it, Boss?" Sage Eagle asked.

Goshawk smiled complacently. "Wow, you're even more impatient than me this time around!"

Sage Eagle launched an attack at the eagle head next to it. A few stars appeared on the eagle head that represented Goshawk, and the entire hawk fell with a thud.

Goshawk gasped in shock. "F*ck! Do we have such an action? How'd you do that?"

Sage Eagle merely sent him a rolling eyes emoji.

Suzy said lightly, "I have to do this mission myself!"

"What?" Goshawk's fallen symbol immediately jumped up. "You're doing this yourself, Boss?" Sage Eagle was standing straight as he asked, "Is it a mission from the higher-ups?"

Suzy responded with a light hum while staring at the text and photos on her screen.

Goshawk was a little excited. "I volunteer to do the mission with Boss!" "No need for the time being!" Suzy said in a low voice, "I'll let you guys know when I need help.”

Goshawk groaned playfully. "You're not afraid of letting us see your true self, are you, Boss? Rest assured, even if you're old and ugly, you're still my boss!"

All three of them had changed their voices, and they had never seen each other. Hence, they had no clue who everyone was or their backgrounds.

After Goshawk was done talking, Sage Eagle sneered without waiting for Suzy to speak up." Boss is worried that if you're too ugly and old, she won't be able to give you a mission in the future!"

Goshawk snorted. "If you have the guts, come out and show your face!"

Sage Eagle merely ignored Goshawk.

Suzy's tone sounded the same as usual. "I'll look for you when I need help!"

Then, she quickly pressed the exit button.

When Suzy opened the door and went out, Nelly turned to look at her and asked, "Something the matter?"

Suzy sat on the carpet in front of the sofa and replied lightly, "After the last two tutoring lessons this weekend, I'll have to go look for a job."

"Huh?" Nelly said in shock. "Didn't you say that you want to go back to Cloud City to see your grandfather after finishing up the lessons?".

Suzy frowned slightly. "I think I'll only have time to go back when the summer vacation is almost over."

She had a video call with her grandfather before this. She said that she would be able to go back to see him in mid-July and was given an earful. Now that Suzy was going to postpone it again, it seemed like her grandfather would take a flight here and beat her up in rage.

Two days later, Nelly was done with her training for her job at the dessert shop. She was originally planning on packing her things up and going home at night. Unexpectedly, before she went to work early in the morning, she received a call from her mother asking her to stay with Suzy for a few more days.

The reason was that her brother's new girlfriend who came from out of state and was in River City for work, had her rent increased by the landlord. Hence, she had moved into the Qualls household and was staying in Nelly's room.

Nelly frowned. "Then when will I be able to go home?"

Nelly's mother persuaded her, saying, "Rainie's looking for a house to rent right now, and she'll probably move out soon. I'm sorry you have to suffer a few days out there. Just think of it as helping your brother out."

Nelly had no choice but to agree. It was not that she did not want to let her future sister-in law stay over, but Nelly did not know where to stay next. She could not constantly mooch off of Suzy as Suzy was also renting.

Suzy overheard her call and asked what had happened.

Hence, Nelly told Suzy about her family's situation.

Suzy quickly said, "It's alright. I've paid the rent for the whole month anyway, so we can live together until the end of the month."

Nelly found it impolite to intrude and said, "I'm sorry for having to bother you again."

"I'm happy that someone will be around to cook for me." Suzy smiled warmly. "I have to get to class, so I'll get going now. See you tonight."

Nelly waved at Suzy with indescribable warmth and gratitude in her heart.

These were the last two lessons Suzy was giving Ean before the final exam. George was not at home, so after class, Suzy played archery with Ean for a while to keep him calm.

When saying goodbye, Ean could not help but ask, "Will you still be coming over after the summer vacation?"
